Bob Buffington arrived on time to the appointment to gather information for his estimate, but that is the only time he ever honored his committment to the job he'd agreed to do for us. We discussed scope of work and when he'd start, he said he could accommodate our needs and would buy the materials to begin the job. He and his sons were to work for us. His references checked out and his knowledge of the work seemed to be in line with the workmanship required for plaster repair. He agreed we'd sign the contract and he'd take the deposit by credit card on the day he arrived to start working. The day arrived and he did not show. Over the course of four days, I had to repeatedly contact him for updates on why he hadn't yet started the job and when he finally got back to me, he had plenty of excuses about why he hadn't shown up. On the last day, he finally confessed via email to having taken on another job and then apologized, saying he could start our work two days later. We declined as we didn't feel we could trust him to work for our interests. I'm just glad no money changed hands, but my time was certainly wasted.
