He came to house gave a quote And said, when he had a Day come open he would do the work. That was before Christmas 2019. I waited a month, then I started calling his number and leaving messages many time I called him up until 3/27/2020 He then calls me with an Attitude And says the reason I keep calling him is because he was cheaper than everybody else? That wasn’t the reason I was told that he was good at is work! So He angrily said he would do the work that he would send over a contact and the hung up on me! Now would you sign a contract with anyone who acted like that ?😡

He was consistently slow in getting back; I wasn't even sure if he was going to show up. Wouldn't return phone calls after the work was done. We had issues after the work and he wouldn't return calls. Exceedingly disappointed. Super quality work though, but pointless if you can't get a hold of them or any communication going.

Ed quoted me an original price of $2700, which he admitted was likely higher than he would eventually end up charging. He explained fully that without being able to see the ceiling fully (he provided the quote with the tiles still on the ceiling) he could only give an estimation of the cost. He explained that if he could simply repair the ceiling, the cost would be substantially lower, but the the price he quoted reflected the possibility that he may have to first install dryway over the existing ceiling and then apply plaster. Ed asked me to have the bedroom cleared of furniture, but even offered to take down the ceiling fan himself so we wouldn't be without it the night prior to the project beginning. (He even reinstalled it once he was done.) He taped up plastic sheeting on all the walls, windows and put down drop cloth on the floor. We honestly wouldn't have known the project was occurring without looking in the bedroom. There was no detectable odor or dust. Once done, Ed cleaned up everything, including dust mopping the bedroom floor and upper hallway. Really, I think it might have been cleaner after he was done than before. He was exceptionally personable and knowledgeable. Also, he did a wonderful job. The ceiling couldn't look better. We're beyond pleased. True to his word, he knocked $500 off of his original estimate based on the work he actually had to do. I'd recommend Yanko Plastering to anyone.
Description of Work: When I purchased my home, the master bedroom had a hideous drop ceiling, which I promptly tore down and replaced with slightly more modern acoustic tiles. However, due to the state of the plaster on which I installed the tiles, they didn't hold well and when my roof sprung a leak, they collapsed. Rather than cover the ceiling up again with more tile, I decided I wanted to have the ceiling repaired back to its original plaster form. I contacted Yanko to accomplish this.

Edward is one of my favorite contractors in St. Louis. We first used him six years ago to do extensive repairs in our living room and hallway, and his work was exceptional. We therefore called him when we finally worked up the courage to repair our bathroom, a plastering nightmare, as well as damage in two other rooms. For the bathroom, Edward not only had to remove the horrifying decals applied by the previous owner, he had to repair walls that looked like Pompey. He scraped down every wall, replaced poor repairs around light fixtures, rebuilt part of a dormer, and then repaired a shoddy vent installation and boxed the wires on a light fixture that he felt was unsafe (for that, he drove to Lowes to get the proper part and refused even to charge us for it). In the two other rooms, he repaired water damage from two leaks and a buckled wall in a dormer, then chased cracks across the ceiling and walls because he couldn't stand leaving behind damage. He also, on a previous visit, repaired our doorbell and helped me stake a tree. He is wonderfully personable, and he is without question the neatest man I have ever met. He seals off rooms, vacuums daily, and has never so much as left a crumb behind. I truly wish all contractors could perform to his standards (I also wish he did wiring, plumbing, etc.). You cannot find better.
