It did NOT happen. They were supposed to be at our house at 2 pm on Friday, November 6, 2015. At 4:15 pm, I called Tim on his cell phone to see where they were. It was going to be dark in 45 minutes. His wie, Victoria, answered and said he was still on another job and that's probably why he has not shown up. I asked about rescheduling for Monday and she handed the phone to Tim... She must have forgotten that he was "on another job". We then rescheduled for today, Monday, November 9, 2015 at 2 pm. When no one was here by 3:30 pm, I called to see where they were. Victoria again answered the phone. She said she didn't know where they were and wanted to know if we had a contract. I told her yes... I did have a contract and I asked if Tim was the owner. She said no, he was not. I asked if the owner was aware that his employees had no concern for his customers and were NO CALL, NO SHOW on a consistant basis. I then asked if she would please have him call me but due to the fact that they were a NO CALL, NO SHOW for both days, I am cancelling the contract. I will find another company that treats their customers well. I said I would leave a review on Angie's List and she said ok, do what you want to do. How does a company like this stay in business? What kind of owner would not be concerned about the way his employees treated his customers? I am totally amazed... What a horrible way to do business!!!

I called immediately to accept the bid. No one ever came to do the work, even when I called another 5 times. I don't know how this company stays in business.
Description of Work: This company is located in Ofallon, not St. Louis. I got a bid to cut back 3 trees on my property.

Please don't ever hire this company. There's a reason they're so cheap. Not only do they send out a bunch of guys that look like they just got out of prison (cheap labor, I guess?), but the work even as cheap as they are, the work isn't worth the money. The original quote, by a guy named Sammy who has supposedly been in the business for 20+ years, was to crown one tree for $175 and trim 3 trees for $25 each, totaling $250. I had a $50 off coupon, but after he quoted me the $250, he said he took the $50 off coupon into consideration (yeah right), even though he didn't know I had it. Anyway, the quote said they could do the work within 1-7 days...not business days...days. I called their office after 9 days, as I had not heard from them. I finally got a call back saying their secretary had been out of the office and they would be out the next day to do the work. The crew of misfits showed up 20 minutes late and began work. The crew "leader" asked me what I wanted done as far as trimming the 3 trees...I told him I wanted them trimmed back to not hang over the fence into my neighbors yards and I wanted them trimmed in general. I also told him that my wife and I had errands to run, so I would leave them a check underneath the front doormat to take when they were done. BIG MISTAKE!!!! When I got home and checked their work, the 3 trees that were to be trimmed had barely been touched. They were all still hanging in my neighbors yards and they literally cut 2 limbs off of each tree. As for the tree that was "crowned", they insisted that they did it right, but it looked butchered to me...I've never seen a tree look like that before. There were no branches left, barely any greenery...it looked like a drunk took a hacksaw to it. So I called the office and told them I was not happy and wasn't paying for the service. They sent Sammy back out, with the crew, and he tried to explain to me that that's how it's supposed to look. I still don't agree, but nothing could be done at that point...you can't put limbs back on a butchered tree. As far as the 3 trees that were supposed to be trimmed, I told them I wanted the work done that I paid them for. They acted inconvenienced, brought their chainsaw back out and cut a few limbs, then left without finishing it to my satisfaction. Bottom line...DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY. Others may cost a little more, but you get what you pay for. I certainly won't make the mistake again of going the cheap route!

First let me say that the address shown for this provider on Angie's List in incorrect. It is: Tree Away 202 Coachman Way O?Fallon, MO 63368 Phone is correct Secondly, I have nothing but great things to say about them. I had several small trees removed & requested all the stumps be ground down (not removed). I was quoted a great price for the job including the $50 coupon they advertise. I was given a written estimate, a list of about 21 references (plus they have more on their website) and a copy of their liability insurance certificate. A huge crew of about 7 guys showed up and got the job done so quickly it made my head spin. They were a lot of fun type of guys, joking around with each other which I enjoyed. They made sure that every leaf that had fallen on either my yard or my neighbor's yard was totally cleaned up before they left. My neighbor even commented on how they cleaned up every leaf. Even though they brought all of their trucks/equipment, unfortunately their grinding machine broke earlier that day, so they had to come back to do the stump grinding. I did have to call to follow up but they came, did all the grinding and I couldn't be more happy. They ground those stumps down below the dirt line, exactly like I wanted so that I could plant grass and mow the area without having to dodge tree stumps. I was told up front that I would need to fill in some dirt in those spots, which I was happy to do. Bought some cheap soil at Lowe's and it was not hard at all & already have grass growing there. I would use them again for sure!!!
Description of Work: I had about 6 small trees removed & requested all the stumps be ground down (not removed). There were 2 stumps already in my yard that they ground up also.

My experience is similar to that of another reviewer. I found Tree Away through an ad in the paper with a $50 off coupon. Their bid came in much lower than the others that I received even without the coupon. Before they were scheduled to come out they called me and asked if they could come out earlier. They said if I would allow them to come early they would take an additional $75 dollars off the quoted price. That would have been great. They never showed. I called several times and left messages. None of my calls were returned. I agree with the other reviewer that Tree Away probably under bid the job and their way of handling it was by blowing me off. Very, Very unprofessional.
Description of Work: None. Tree Away came out and bid the job but never showed after repeated calls.

After having them perform prior tree service for us and being happy with the result, I contacted Tree Away again to have 2 more trees cut down. They came out and gave a very low estimate which kind of shocked me. Their bid was $1000 and the next closest bid was $1800 (out of 3 more bids). So I told them they had the job. I was scheduled to have the trees cut down the following week. I received a call on a Wednesday from them asking if they could come out tomorrow? Apparently they had nothing scheduled, needed the work, and would knock $50 off the cost - so I said, sure! Well, they never showed. Apparently their brakes went out on their truck. So they said they would be out the next day - never showed. Was told it would be Monday - never showed. I kept calling, and calling, but then the calls were not answered nor returned. My neighbor told me that he thinks they bid it too low, realized it, found the job too difficult to do for the price and this was their way of turning down the business. I agree. I found it strange since they had come out before and we were very happy with the service, price, etc... and they even knocked $75 off the cost for letting my wife be filmed for their 'commercial'. Obviously after this experience, we called and told them to never use that footage. Very unprofessional way of doing business. At least be honest if you bid a job too low. I'd have more respect for you if you jsut told the truth.
Description of Work: Got bid on cutting down and removing 2 dead post oak trees, and grinding stumps.
