I was extremely pleased with all the work Sean did for us. He was tidy and prompt and explained what he would do, so I knew what to expect. The kitchen backsplash looks wonderful and made such a difference in the room! I would certainly use Tilbury Renovations again and would recommend them to others.
Description of Work: When we moved to a different home, the kitchen tile really needed updating. The tile was just a backsplash above the counter on two walls, but one was an outside wall and both were plaster. Since I wasn't doing a gut rehab, Sean Butler from Tilbury Renovations said we could tile over the old existing tile which was not smooth so not an easy job. I chose the tile and he measured and made some suggestions on different ways to address the area around the window and the sill and he picked up the tile from the retailer. He also moved the stove out and put a few more rows of tile where none had been before. We also had radiators removed in two bathrooms and he was able to replace tiles where the holes has been in the floors. We were left with some tiles for both bathrooms, so he used that and regrouted to match. You can't even tell that the tile was replaced.

Mr. Butler did a wonderful job ensuring all aspects of the installation was top quality, and gave extra thought in areas where surrounding cabinet and countertop installations posed challenges. Tilbury Renovations is an excellent choice in any and all areas that require an extra attention to detail.

Excellent. Mr. Butler was recommended by both the store where I purchased my tile and a local designer (who I also found on Angie's List). I called and left a message and it was returned a few days later - but worth waiting for. I am prepping my house for sale and he was able to accommodate my tight time frame. The day we connected he came to look at the job. I was thrilled to learn that he could put the tile over the existing tile - I had thought that because the existing baseboard tile had a coved, or curved edge it would not be possible or another piece of trim would be added. He said no, he does this all the time and would just "float" a new floor that came up over that curve (about 1/4"). He did the float one day and let it set for 48 hours. Then he came back the next day to lay the tile and the following day to grout. Each time he was meticulous about covering floors and eliminating mess. All tile was cut out doors. He was punctual and very pleasant to deal with. He also had an assistant for the first 2 days of the job who was equally professional and nice. I also had a few tiles to lay in front of a fireplace and he graciously added that to the project. It was all very efficient and tidy, and the new marble floor is spectacular. Mr. Butler clearly knows his craft and I would highly recommend him.

Work was beautifully done and I was very pleased with the outcome. On both days, clean up was performed and care was taken to minimize any disturbance. Any cutting of tile was done outdoors and cleanup was done out there also. Mr. Butler provided the glue and a selection of grout chips for me to choose a color. I provided the tile. We had quite a delay from initial estimate to final work due to product unavailability(from manufacturer) and then previous committments of Mr. Butler. However, I would use him again and wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone. Work was beautifully done and he was extremely professional and pleasant.
Description of Work: Mr. Butler tiled a 22 sq. foot kitchen backsplash in 4x2 glass subway tile which I purchased from a tile supply. He was accompanied by one assistant. On the first day, the surface was prepped, and the tile was laid, using 2/3 of one color and 1/3 of another in a randomized pattern. On the second day, the grout was applied and the final cleanup done. Grout application took only a couple of hours.
