Streib Company

From the proposal to the completion of the work, the staff at Streib were professional and very attuned to my needs in the project. They were very efficient and the quality of the work was great. We still have to have the finish electrical completed after the cabinets are installed. The bid was very specific which I believe is important so there is no confusion on the scope of work. I would recommend Streib and will use them again when I need electrical work. Remember that low bid does not always equal low price.

The job went smoothly. The Streib employee not only installed the 4 outlets, but he cleaned up any mess he made with the materials used to install the outlets. Also, my basement is unfinished. Every once in a while, I will hire someone to perform work in the basement involving wires of some sort. Good workmanship is when the person drills s hole through every floor joist to run the wires through from the junction box to the final site. Bad workmanship is when they string the wires over air ducts or plumbing pipes or any other thing they can find and you are left with wires dangling all over and running every which way across the basement. That's why you shouldn't leave workers unattended. Always check up on them. Research online how a correct job should be done and how it should look so you can correct them if they are doing shoddy work. When the employee from Streib started work in the basement, one of the first things I heard was a drill. This meant he was going to install the wiring correctly. All the drilling indicates you are going to have a lot of debris falling down on the floor. He cleaned it all up! He was punctual, courteous, worked in a professional manner, and cleaned up the job site. Couldn't really ask for anything more than that. Plus, because he was a licensed electrician, these outlets will pass inspection if the house ever needs one. We moved to the upstairs where he checked my ceiling outlets to see if they were ready for me to install fans. He said they were. Great! I was very pleased with the work performed. I would definitely use this company again.

Exceptional service from Streib technician Scott Shelton. He was prompt in arrival, and he pinpointed the root causes of my electrical problems and addressed them in under an hour. He also provided advice on future maintenance without making a hard sell in the process. Scott was so courteous, he even took his shoes off before entering the house. Kudos to Streib and to Scott for earning my return business.

I called Streib and other companies to get an estimate on a new electrical panel. The person who answered the phone took a message and said someone would call me back but nobody ever did.

Very good to talk to on the phone to help assist with part needed to order. Once I received the part, they came out when they said they would and very quick and efficient in repairing the light fixture. Very pleased with work and pleasant demeanor. Have used them in the past and would use them again.

They were great when it came to price, quality, and professionalism. They also came back and did a lot of work in our house. They were just great in everything.

Tom Streib, the owner, was extremely helpful. Immediately he offered a couple of additional things for us to check, in an attempt to save us having to pay for a service call. Who does that????? When it was obvious it was beyond the simple fix, he asked if we could wait a day to set up an appointment. I told him that worked best for us, since we could manage fine without power in those areas for a few days if necessary. He had Jim Collins call us on Monday, and he. worked us in the very next day. It couldn't have worked out better. Jim was so pleasant and very accommodating. Then, along came Keith Martin - very professional, personable, efficient, and knowlegable. He found the problem soon after he got here. He was finished with the electrical repairs in short order. Our lighting and other power issues are resolved. We couldn't be more pleased! A big THANK YOU to Tom and Keith. Would we recomment Streib Electric - in a heartbeat!

They were very courteous and profesional from answering my first phone call setting up the appointment to arriving on time and completing the work quickly at a very fair price based on their hourly rate.

It went amazingly well. I was at my parents house and they were in a panic because a tree crashed through the roof of their home during the previous night's storms. That morning the ceiling in the family room completely fell in leaving a huge mess. The insurance company could not get anyone out to the house until that afternoon. My father was concerned about a fire because we could see lots of wiring hanging down from the ceiling - no basement so everything is in the attic. My dad didn't know of an electrician so I checked Angie's list and got Strieb's information. We called the electric company but they informed me they wouldn't look at the wiring of the house. So I called Streib and they sent someone out right away. It was a big relief to have an electrician look things over and determine if it was safe to keep the electricity on that day. The man Streib sent out was very professional and helpful.

I had a large, dark kitchen pantry, and just wanted a simple pull string light. Todd came out to do the bid, & immediately suggested a motion detector light that comes on automatically when I open my kitchen pantry door. Another company had come out to bid the same job but did not suggest this feature. It's great! I love it. Previously I had to use a flashlight to search for my spices and canned goods. In addition to the pantry light, Keith installed a new outlet in my hallway (makes it more convenient to plug in my vacuum cleaner) and a fluorescent light fixture above my new utility sink in the basement. I couldn't be happier with the work Keith did. He was here about three hours. He had to go up in the attic, pull wires through walls and ceilings. Keith was very efficient, professional, neat, & nice. UPDATE: There was a problem with the motion detector light in the pantry. It worked sporadically. Sometimes it would stay on long after closing the pantry door, when it should have gone off. Sometimes in the morning I would come out to find it had been on all night. I let it go a while but finally called them to ask about it. They were very pleasant, came out and replaced the defective light with a new one at no extra charge. They stand by their work!

We spent about $900 on that work. Our interaction with them went really well. We met them one day and they were able to free someone out a couple days later to get the work done when it needed to be done. They also followed up after the service was done to see if everything worked out and to arrange the billing.

I would highly recommend Strieb Electric Company for electrical home repairs! It was a great experience.

I called to find out our serviceman was running late. He showed up about 20 minutes after our scheduled appointment time. He explained to me what needed to be done to move both our light switch and our thermostat. He had to cut into the plaster wall to put in a new box and run new wiring for the light switch and he would need to drill holes in the wall for the thermostat wiring. I gave him the go ahead and he went to work. Not until after he cut the hole in the wall, (the hole wasn't cut squarely) did he tell me he doesn't do plaster patch work. He did clean up after himself upstairs, but not in the basement. There was sawdust and plaster residue from where he had to drill into the wood and plaster. I may use this company again, but just be more on top of what's going on.

The installation went well. Very professional, knowledgeable electrician. The company overall was great to work with. Had a little glitch with coordination of installation with landscape contractor but they figured it out and were there to do the work when needed.

I needed a simple GFCI outlet/light switch combo installed in the bathroom of a house I am selling. Streib called me back the same day to schedule the job, did the job quickly and professionally, at a reasonable cost. They were about 25 minutes later than they said they would be, but other than that, no complaints!

The electrician was professional and completed the work of wiring the washer/dryer quickly. He had all the necessary parts/tools immediately available and the machine works perfectly now. Additionally, he stayed longer to give me advice on wiring a room fan and additional wiring that we are considering.

It went much better than we ever expected. Streib made our day.

It went great, they did what I had asked them to do. It's hard to find repair people that you can trust to show up and perform at a high level of professionalism and expertise. They are on my list to call in the future.

The power outage was caused by a lighning strike to a tree close to my house. Janet answered the phone and was very helpful. Rich, the electrician, was awesome. He skillfully performed his work in spite of the heat index being 100. He quickly diagnosed the cause of the problems with the power losses. The garage door opener will need to be replaced. Rich repaired the porch light and told me what I will have to buy in order for him to repair the lamp post as they do not stock lighting fixtures. We discussed additional lighting in the home as well as updating the current electrical panel and wiring. This is the first time I have contacted Streib Electric and I was very pleased with their quick response and resolution of the problems.

They had a crew out for two days and showed up and left on time. They did a resonable job of cleaning up after themselves, but most importantly everyone was technically competent and I'm very happy with how things were completed. The visible portion of the installed wiring is neat and clean and with such a big statement of work I was impressed that every last detail was completed.

Light needed to be replaced. New light was installed and old light was removed. Nicely done, competent and professional.

The technician arrived, checked the circuits and discovered a wiring connection had come loose behind one outlet. He reconnected the wires and installed a new outlet. The process was complete within an hour. The technicial was professional and went immediately to diagnose the problem and effect a remedy. Based on this experience I would have no hesitation to call this company again for electrical work. One minor issue is that I was told that the tecnician would call when he was on his way. He appeared at the door without first calling. It is possible that my wife may have been on the phone when he tried to call. This is not enough to cause me to reconsider using this company.

I called Streib on 3/2 and explained the work I wanted done. They were very receptive to coming out and inspecting my home in order to provide a work estimate. We made an appointment for 7am on 3/4. No one showed up, no one called. I find this very unprofessional and it leads me believe that had I hired them, I would have had to hound them to complete the work.

I got five bids before hiring someone and I used Angie's List for all of them. Everyone would tell us different things, but for this company the person who came out thought everything through. He knew he would have to send 2 men out to do the job. They ran into a few obstacles while they were here and kept trouble shooting until they came up with a solution at a price that we thought was reasonable. They cleaned up after themselves and I felt like I got what I paid for. I'd hire them again without a doubt.

They were very professional and friendly. The estimate was just higher in comparison with another company.
