St Louis Radon

St. Louis Radon set up a 48 hr. test in our basement ($100). The results came back a bit higher than the "safe level", so we decided to have the mitigation system installed ($750). The installers were very knowledgeable and efficient. The best part--there was no mess to clean up after they were done. The retest showed the average radon level to be 1.4.

As part of the inspection when buying a house, St. Louis Radon came out and placed a device in the house. The device was an anti-tamper model which eased my concern of someone moving the device or doing something shady to make the test pass. Our inspection/closing period was very short and they were able to get out the next day. The results were clearly provided to me a couple days later (when the device was removed). I was more than happy to pay the price I did (partly due to coupon on AngiesList) for a piece of mind and professional service. I would definitely do business with this company again.

They arrived on time and explained everything they were going to do. They worked quickly and installed a pvc pipe from the basement up through the garage and out the roof. They had the job done within an hour and a half. Would highly recommend!

The complany was great to work with. The results of the testing confirmed elevated Radon levels. The owner went over in detail concerns with pro and con of different approaches. Never high pressure or trying to upsell something I didn't need. Ultimately we install a system for $850 that mitigated the elevated levels which was confirmed with a follow up test that is included. The installers were excellent. We spent a lot of time with them up from determing the best exhaust location to end up with a quiet system. We can't hear it at all and you can not see it from the street. Their work was top quality, neat and they cleaned up everything. I am very pleased with the results.

As we had high levels of radon in our home, saint louis radon was able to fit us into an early schedule. They provided a detailed plan of how and what they were going to do once they arrived. They were done with the installation in about a couple of hours and everything was cleaned up to perfection. They did a really great job.

Went extremely well. Company owner, Tom, was very knowledgeable, straightforward and professional. The two installers, Dallas & Shane, were fast and efficient. They modified the vent line route through my basement to meet my needs even though it was more inconvenient for them. They didn't try to talk me out of it, they just made it happen. Their work was excellent and cleaned up after themselves leaving me nothing to do. They had to install a second vent line for further mitigation, my basement is pretty large. That dropped my radon level drastically -well below the government recommended safe level.. Great experience overall.

They didn't charge me anything more than the Big Deal. I was buying a home and needed to have the radon level checks. They didn't find anything. It was just fine. There were no problems at all. They came when they were suppose to, did what they were suppose to and didn't charge me what they were suppose to. They were very professional and exactly what I expected it to be.

I called and asked about installing a mitigation system, as the radon levels were 4.1 pl per million (limit is 4.0). Tom inquired about features of the basement. He recommended sealing the covers of the two sump pumps in the basement, and sealing the drainage channels and retesting prior to purchasing a mitigation system. He also provided information about how to obtain a free test from the state.

It went fine. Scheduling was no problem. They were there when they said they’d be and picked it up on time. We were able to get the results back when they picked up the machine – it was pretty prompt.

Wonderful experience with St. Louis Radon! Tom was extremely helpful by answering all my questions. Our installers, Shane and Dallas, were professional and got the job done in a timely manner. And our radon levels are now below normal!!

We called because we thought the fan had stopped working and to look into the issue of water dripping from the pipes in our garage during the winter. It turns out the fan still worked as the power was turned off. It was good to know that they were honest and stated the fan did not need to be replaced at this time. They determined the reason water dripped from the pipes in the winter was due to having the wrong flange on the roof. They did a good job of fixing it. I can't wait to see if working this winter so I don't have to scrape the ice off my windshield on my car that is in a garage. Note: they are not the same company who put the system in place.

Our home inspection detected a high radon reading. Based on past Angie's List reviews and our realtor's recommendation, we contacted St. Louis Radon. Installers Shane and Dallas were on time, extremely friendly and knowledgeable, explained the process and our options, did the job and cleaned up after. Add us to their growing list of recommenders.

There was no attempt to sell us any type of ablation service although the results indicated it would be of benefit. I recommended this service to a few friends because I was so impressed with this company.

All went well. They installed the mitigation system to avoid as much basement use as possible and the system isn't obvious from the exterior of the house. All was done right on time and with little disruption and all was cleaned up afterwards. I had to call them back to rehook up the garage door opener, but they were a very short distance away and it was no big problem. They explained the entire process and left literature that would be a good reference in case of further questions.

Sue was the person who came out to start the test and then to collect the machine two days later. She was very professional and we received a thorough report following the test. No problems - no attempts to upsell - highly recommend.

They explained very clearly how radon abatement worked, what it would cost, were very prompt and worked surprisingly quickly. The whole operation was complete in just a couple of hours. The service also included a post test to confirm that the radon levels were reduced. This was our first Angie's List recommendation and we were very pleased with the result!
