Simple Moves

Excellent and friendly service at the last minute. We found ourselves trying to unload a 26 foot moving truck with insufficient help, and called Simple Moves for assistance. They were able to get two movers to our house the next morning who finished the job in 2 1/2 hours. Everything was done quickly and very carefully. Will use again.

At very short notice, I needed someone to move my stuff out of the basement. I think I was asking for the same or the next day. Thankfully, Simple Moves could accommodate me. Their price was very reasonable and their estimate was less than actual.. They did move everything I wanted and didn't damage anything. They actually moved much more than I had originally listed because I had not realized how much I had in the basement. Even with the extra things, they were done in less than the original time frame the scheduler estimated (he said 1 - 2 hours; they were done in about 1 3/4 hours). However, the thing I didn't like is that they arrived a bit late and then seemed to resent that they had to move more than planned, even though they didn't spend the maximum time the scheduler estimated. If I was paying by the hour and they had planned to do up to 2 hours, what was there to be resentful about? This is stressful and I am able to find movers without this problem, so will choose another provider for my upcoming move.

They get a pretty high rating but we were not too pleased with our experience with them. They got the job done but we have many complains like they tried to cancel our schedule with them.

Overall the service was good, I would trust one of the three guys that showed up but I was there to supervise so not a huge deal. I decided to use this company because it wouldn't be much more to rent a uhaul and do all the work myself after you figure in paying for insurance and fuel. The problem was that they charged me twice! Once on my discover card which they said was declined and once on my visa card which I subsequently gave them. 184 dollars was a good deal, 368 dollars not so much. Unfortunately I found this out on the weekend and when I tried calling to resolve the issue all I got was an answering service, which was understandable but infuriating at the same time.

There were there on time, quick, focused and courteous. We were moving her from the 14th floor of an apartment to the 3rd floor of a house. No one complained. They worked hard and got the job done. Best money we ever spent! I would recommend them and use them again.

I wanted a professional mover because the house was sold and painted and wanted to make sure no damage was done getting it out and also, getting it to our place. On moving day, there was extreme rain and movers were delayed by a few hours. When they got to our house and set up they told me I should not turn on the fridge for 24-48 hrs because it was moved laying down and the freon needed time to redistribute from being on it's back for the move. I would have preferred moving it upright, which I thought a mover would do with straps in the truck. They were good to tell me though or I could have ruined my fridge because obviously I wanted to turn it right on. I also had to leave my stuff in a cooler til I was able to turn it on. They were behind schedule because of rain and I wonder if it was quicker for them to lay it flat to move. They were very nice and careful but if I was moving a fridge again, I would state I don't want it moved laying down upfront. I don't think it's good for the fridge and that's part of why I paid a mover instead of a guy to "haul" it from there to here. I have a great guy for that, but was afraid he may no be as careful. He is used to hauling junk. I would use Simple Moves again though. They were pretty professional but I got a terrible day with the downpour of rain. The only reason I rated a B was because they moved the fridge laying down, but gave them a B because they told me and I was able to take precautions and not turn it on for a day. However, that was an added inconvenience and I had to disinfect it again because they start smelling if they aren't turned on. All in all I thought the young guys tried hard and did a good job and I would use again though. I would avoid a day with rain in the forecast if I could, but I had to get it out. I had gotten stood up by another small mover who never called back so I had a time crunch. Simple Moves has a professional system for setting up a time. The rain threw the schedule off but they at least still came and did the move.

The move went fine. It was a big, heavy set with glass shelves for the china cabinet. They were very careful with everything. Unfortunately for them, it was one of those rainy days we've been having, so they delivered everything in the rain. They covered what they could and helped to wipe off the wet parts when they got to the house. They were very helpful. The only thing I would add is that there was a little confusion getting a hold of the seller or a misunderstanding about the time of pick up. As a result, I paid a little more for wait time. Having said that, I printed a coupon form Angie's list so I got 10% off. Everything evens out.

They work very courteous and hard. They get the job done fast.

i was a little worried since this was following a holiday weekend. They called to confirm on Saturday before the move. Arrived within the window of time that I'd been given. I'd thought that the charity was going to pick up much of the furniture prior to the move, but they were unable to do so. Therefore, the truck was a bit too small, but that was my fault, not theirs. We ended up having to make a second trip which I"m sure that they weren't thrilled about since they still had another move following mine that day. But they were very professional about it and didn't give me any problem. There were only two movers, but they were quick and efficient. No damage done to anything that I've found yet. I moved the electronics, clothing and lamps in my car. They delivered a kitchen table and chairs to my sister's house and one of the queen beds, mattress and box springs as well. I was pleased with how smoothly things went considering that we ended up having to move more furniture than was originally planned.

Excellent service. Simple Moves called me to update me on expected arrival time. Called again when they were within 15 minutes of arriving. All personnel were very friendly, helpful, and polite. It was raining and they took care to keep items as dry as possible. Great move!

It went very well. They gave us an estimate that was higher than we actually got charged due to the efficiency of their staff.

Excellent!! The two movers were amazing. The newer refrigerator going to the basement was large and heavy, which made the turn at the bottom of the stairs very difficult. They did it without even a nick on the wall.

Everything was as planned except the spilled file contents. A "simple" move

I wish that Angie's List would adopt the education system of plus and minus e.g., (A+, A-, A, B+, B- etc.) I did not want to give Simple Moves an "A" but I also did not think it was totally fair to give them a "B" either. I think an "A-/B+" would have been the appropriate grade. As to the question, "Would I use them again?" I answered "Yes." However, A better answer would be "It depends on what I was moving." But my answer leans more to the "yes" side than the "no" side. Sorry, everyone, I am a nuanced guy here. PROS: The two guys who moved our items were respectful and it seems, careful with our items (I say "it seems" because everything is in storage and I have not been able to inspect the items), but they were careful with the interior of our home (e.g. walls, door frames etc.) And during the times that I was able to watch the guys move, they were careful. They shrink wrapped our items to protect them from the rain.This leads me to assume that during the times that I did not watch them that they were careful overall. The team arrived when they were scheduled to arrive. CONS: The team that Simple Moves sent to our home was not the best at "maximizing space" in their truck or our storage unit, however, because this was not a cross country move it was not an issue. I would recommend that should you hire Simple Moves for a cross country move that you request a team from Simple Moves that has better expertise with maximizing space when loading a truck. We had one minor issue and when I brought it to Simple Moves attention, the owner Chris was proactive to take care of it. ANOTHER PRO and One "POTENTIAL" CON: It is my understanding that Simple Moves only has one size of truck. Due to the size of their trucks, our team had to make two trips to storage. The PRO. is that my customer service rep, John (and the moving team) had already made me aware of that possibility, thus I was not surprised. That demonstrates good communication on their parts! Because it was 2.5 miles trip, it was not a factor in my decision process so I went with them. However, the size of their trucks might be a factor for your move --that is why I placed this as a potential negative.

They came on time and called a few minutes before they arrived. The movers were very friendly and polite. They moved very fast, did not drag at all, and were very careful with my belongings. For the few pieces of furniture that I really cared about, they wrapped them with plastic and blankets. No damage was done at all. They moved everything to the positions that I wanted. I would definitely use them again if I ever need to move in the future. Also, I was able to use a 10% off coupon for Thursday moving, which is always nice.

They were on time, I have a standard width Staircase with a 90 degree bend in and some fairly narrow hall ways they had to move through. Everything went smoothly. They did ask for a tip -- it wasn't required but we felt obligated.

As we were advised, the moving team called us about 30 minutes prior to arriving at our home. They showed up within the time window we were given, and got everything loaded into their truck pretty quickly. The move into our new home also went very smoothly. They took great care of our items, and were professional and courteous. We had such a good experience, we ended up hiring them again to help us unload our storage container when that arrived on a separate day. We received estimates from two other moving companies, one of which did our initial move last summer of 2012, and Simple Moves turned out to be the least expensive rate of the three companies. It wasn't until we saw two other moves in our complex who had used Simple Moves, that we decided to pull the trigger on them. It was a positive experience overall, and I believe they specialize in smaller moves, although I know they do big moves too. Since our move was a small move, I can only speak to that and would recommend Simple Moves for these types of jobs.

They were scheduled for an arrival between 2:00-5:00 pm but apparently underestimated the time for the previous move which resulted in their arrival at 10:00 pm. They did their best to keep me informed of the time they were to arrive, but each time it was extended by 1-2 hours. Once they did arrive, the gentlemen were very professional and quick. They whole set was packaged with appropriate blackets and tape and there was no damage upon arrival. The only issue was the excessive tardiness of their arrival.

Very well. I had been referred to Simple Moves by a friend who had previously used them. The Simple Moves team arrived on time and completed the work efficiently. They were careful with my furniture and helped me position some of the pieces. From my initial call for a quote to the final stages of the move, the Simple Moves team was professional, polite and helpful. Highly recommend them for this type of service and would not hesitate to call them again should I move again.

I was able to call in, decribe the furniture I needed moved, they gave a quote over the phone. Called to let me know they were to arrive in 15 minutes and did arrive at the time discussed. Chris and Demetrius are very good natured and professional young men who got the job done quickly and safely. Very satisfied.
