Simple Moves

The service was really good. The movers were good. The scheduling was good.

My son's family was moving this past October to a new home. As a gift, I was covering the expense of the move. Having used Simple Moves before and been pleased with its performance, my son used that company again. It was a nightmare from start to finish. The understanding was three movers and a truck would show up. Two movers arrived. The company said it would send another person. Soon after the third person arrived, he was pulled and sent to another job. The company then said it was sending two more guys and another truck. Once this "final" configuration of four guys and two trucks was assembled, it became painfully obvious that these four individuals were not going to work well , both individually and as part of a team, and with no sense of urgency as time continued to pass. Usually one individual in a team of movers is the crew chief that keeps the others on task. There was no one of these four filling that role. Throughout much of the day, I watched four guys spend as much time talking among themselves as thy did moving furniture. When my son told one of them that they needed to pick up the pace, the individual replied that since he was being "disrespected," he was not doing any more moving of things. When my wife came by after work, within a half hour she asked me to go on a walk with her because she could not stand to watch the inactivity. There were pieces of furniture they would not take up a long flight of stairs to a second level. When told where things should go, they would take those and related items to another location (e.g. the infant's crib parts to the kitchen). Finally, three hours at least after this move should have been completed, my son just told them to get everything left into the house and bring an end to the move. The only thing about these four individuals that would attest to their being experienced movers was the bright orange company t-shirt they each wore. As established by my son's first use of Simple Moves, the company is worthy of consideration because it can provide competent, hard-working crews. Having experienced the second use of Simple Moves, I would caution anyone considering hiring Simple Moves, however, to confirm that he or she will be sent an experienced team with a record of "staying on task" and with a clearly identified team leader . . . and only after arriving at a crystal clear understanding with the company as to the particulars.

The move went very well. Though they came at the end of my moving window the movers worked very quickly and managed to complete my move in one and half hours. On top of the coupon my only out of pocket costs were $24 for the rest of the move and a good tip because they worked so hard. I also spoke with the office staff for scheduling the move and they were ver courteous and responsive.

Mike and Mark were amazing. I did not know how they would get all the furniture moved in under 2 hours, but they brought their muscles and their complete professionalism to my project. They were efficient, safe and didn't waste a single minute. I would highly recommend this team when faced with moving or rearranging your home. Worth every single penny in saving your back!

It went good. I just have a company that is going to move me for free so I don't need this deal and would like a refund.

It was a difficult task which included moving heavy items from the basement up to our garage, but Derrick and Darien did a great job. They didn't damage any items, scheduling the service was rather easy, and the company accommodated my schedule perfectly even though I called them at the last minute.

.They arrived on time, were extremely pleasant and professional. They worked quickly and since there was a small amount of furniture and the destination was near, completed the job in one hour.

I have also used them with my clients. They have always been very superior. The men are very efficient, on time and do a good job.

The service was very good. The price was reasonable. They are very friendly and accommodating. I had a big heavy couch that we had to get down the basement stairs; there is a post they had to work around and they went above and beyond to do this. They were great to work with.

I have used them several times. I think they over charge for how much work they do. They were slow, especially towards the end of each job which was aggravating.

Very well. When I called to arrange the move they were very accommodating, repeated my request to ensure it was correct. The actual move was on a cold dreary day. It was damp and snowing at times. The gentlemen were punctual, called me like they said they would before arriving. They were professional, efficient, and engaging. They were careful with the furniture (some of the pieces were fragile). The carpet was protected by using drop cloths and rubber booties on their shoes. The guys had all of the tools they needed. A very efficient route was chosen that kept time spent to a minimum. We had some good conversations yet were working the entire time. I don't even recall them taking any breaks. I was pleased to say the least. I was more concerned about quality, so didn't really do a lot of shopping for a lower price. I have used Simple Moves before and they've earned the status as my primary moving company.

Everything turned out really well. The two men worked very quickly without complaining or damaging anything.

It went VERY WELL!!!! They were very polite and professional and careful with all of our items. They didn't seem to mind when a we changed the location of a couple of items. There were a couple of problems getting things through doors, but they came up with a solution to get it done. The job went very well. We had a "one-hour special" through Angie's list, and the two men worked very hard to keep their time to one hour. Two of the furniture pieces were large and heavy, yet they were able to accomplish the task with very little difficulty. We would definitely use them again!!!!

They were very careful and I've handed out their number to other people. They did a good job on the antiques.The brought an extra person as a trainee so I really got 3 guys for the price of 2, which was very nice.

They answered the phone which the others did not, they have answering machines. They are very professional and they gave me an excellent price which is cheaper than the others. They even sent a representative out and sort things out in advance to check it out which is very good so far.

I didn't hear back from them after the purchase, hence the C grade. I didn't call them because I found another company (for hauling) that would also move these items.

Two movers arrived within the time slot I was given. They unassembled a bed frame and headboard and partially wrapped the dresser and chest of drawers. The furniture was loaded as well as a number of boxes. As "one" mover was loading one section of the dresser up a ramp to the moving truck he either slipped or lost his balance and ended up sitting on the ramp with the piece of furniture having been damaged on the bottom edge of the side closes to the mover. As more items were placed in the moving truck, one of the movers slammed a boxed microwave into a space creating a loud sound; later I would discover that the back of the microwave was smashed in! There was additional damage to the top of the dresser and to the hutch that sits on top of the dresser. One mover was polite and professional and one appeared to be unexperienced at the job. I pointed out to the movers the damage to the dresser and hutch and one of the movers said that "it was like that when they first saw it", which is not true. I was moving my parents, unexpectedly in to an assisted living apartment and I had a lot of things to do in a short amount of time. I was also very stressed at the time, so I let the damages go. I would be willing to use Simple Moves again because of their low cost but "only if" different movers were sent.

Two gentlemen came to move furniture back into place after having our hardwood floors refinished (a fairly simple job). They were on time and got to work promptly. They asked about any special considerations with the things being moved and were very friendly.
