Simple Moves

Sam and Wayne were great. Called when they were on their way to start the move and showed within then the time that was provided to us. The move went very smoothly and they were great to work with. I would definitely call them for my next move and request Sam and Wayne.

Wayne and Jeff arrived promptly and were fast, professional, thorough, and very friendly. They did a superb job on all counts, very much including excellent protective wrapping and care of nine framed paintings and a sculpture. In addition, the move was set up and timed well by the company staff member with whom we scheduled it over the phone. We had the exact info for him on 30-plus pieces and to which destination each was going, and he took it all down fast and accurately and gave us an immediate time and dollars estimate. This is the second time in a row we've used Simple Moves and certainly would recommend them very highly.

This move was smooth. Terry and Will arrived within the scheduled time frame. We engaged this company because the furniture was too big and heavy for us to handle. Terry and Will were very accommodating and pleasant to be around. I honestly did not know that the apartment destination had narrow and twisting stairs, but Terry and Will completed the job without complaint. It was a typical hot day here. They were working very well together.

We hired Simple Moves for a small job, moving my daughter out of her family home into her first house. For a first move she had a surprising amount of of items. It was a big event for her and moving horror stories were stuck in her head. She need not have worried. The move was flawless, and the movers were incredible. Terrence and Carlos were the epitome of what every person hopes walks into their home to move their important possessions. They were prompt. They were polite. They were professional. Their energy and attention to detail were amazing to watch. We cannot say enough about our entire experience with Simple Moves from quoting, scheduling, timeliness, through performance. The gentlemen were ontime, professional , hard-working, and fast. They wrapped everything in blankets and plastic - not a scratch on anything. I could not have asked for a better experience. These guys were great and I will use them again and recommend them 100%.

They were pretty good. They were worked fast but not as careful as I thought they were going be and this was partly because I requested for them to work faster.

I wasn't as happy as I could have been. I think They underestimated by a lot what it was gonna cost because they underestimated by a lot how long it was gonna take. I know I told them everything I had to move and they sent, I had some very large items to move and they sent small men, we had a lot of trouble. And they damaged several things in my new home moving stuff in so. But they were pleasant and all that but it cost me a lot more than I was expecting, I have to pay them then I had to have then come out and repair quite a few things. The put a big gouge in a wall they put a big gouge in my brand new kitchen, I moved into a brand new house and had a big gouge in my floor, just a lot of stuff.

I am the recipient of the washer and dryer from the previous reviewer on 3/2/16. When the movers hadn't called during the window of time they were to arrive (1-4 pm) I had to call their office. When the movers finally called they said they would arrive around 4:45. W hen they didn't I called the office again and I was informed they were on their way around 5:15 and finally they arrived at 5:30 (those 45 extra minutes I needed to have them complete the job and go off to my 6 pm evening class which I eventually was forced to miss.) I was given this excuse for their tardiness: the main office had given them too small of a truck to complete their previous job causing them to make many trips. That didn't exactly explain what they did with after they left the last job and arrived so much later than their estimated time of arrival. When they attempted to get the washer through our patio door with just maybe one inch to spare they tried to ANGLE it through the doorway (they were scratching the washer door) so I had to ask them to please back out and go in straight (as you would expect a professional to do). When they finally got the washer in the room one of the three movers handed me a bag of bolts - the bolts which should have been placed on the drum to the washer to keep the drum from getting damaged!! When I asked them why they weren't put on the washer all three of them didn't even know what they were for!! My son-in-law, who had given him the bag of bolts, was not informed that they, the movers, were not supposed to place the bolts on and so he just assumed that they, " the professional movers", would do it. (I later learned on Simple Moves' website under their FAQ that washers must have the bolts placed on by the homeowner but the office staff should have given us this extremely valuable piece of information at the time the move was scheduled. If they had actually known what the bolts were for and had informed my son-in-law that they were not supposed to install them, he most certainly would have put them on himself. Since extensive renovations to my laundry room aren't finsihed yet, I won't know right away if there was damage done to the washer. This job was nightmare from start to finish. When I called Simple Moves the next day I asked the office manager if his men were trained about the bolts on washers and he said they all were trained. He didn't have a response when I told him that if they were properly trained why was it that not one of the three men even knew what the bolts were for.??? This has lead me to the conclusion that they either they weren't educated on the subject or at least "forgot" the information. I was then told the general manager would call me to discuss this matter but she never called me back. Having been in customer service for many years I am shocked at the level of apathy and lack of professionalism at the office level and the total incompetence of the staff. That there is a total disregard for customer satisfaction and imcompetence at every level is an understatement. HIRE THIS COMPANY AT YOUR OWN RISK!! I have used this company many times in the past and even recommended them to friends and family but never again. If there is damage to the washer Simple Moves will be reported to the Better Business Bureau.

We were given a window of 1-4. They got there at 5:15. We called the office around 4 and they said they were 1/2 hour away. They didn't even attempt to call and let us know they were running behind. Unapologetically they showed up to move our front loading washer and dryer. We knew they needed shipping bolts to keep their washer's drum in place. We had them on hand and my husband gave them to the men saying they were for the washer. They just nodded and kept going. Well they never said anything more to us, we assumed they put the bolts in place before loading it on the truck. They come to deliver the items and the bolts were still in the bag. We are not "professional movers", they are. They should have told us we needed to secure the drum ourselves before they moved it (not that I have any clue how to buy I guess I could have you tubed it). Regardless, what good is a moving company if they can't hash out those little details for you to ensure everything arrived safely?!? We don't know if there is any damage because we can't set it up to test it. Thanks for nothing simple moves. Now we're out $200 and a possibly broken washing machine. Two big thumbs down. The only reason they're not getting an F is because the guys were nice enough, it was their lack of training.

We hired Simple Moves because they had the best price in town. The movers showed up about 30 mins late and moved VERY slow. I understand that they get paid by the hour, but we could of moved our items a lot faster. They didn't handle boxes marked fragile delicately at all. We witnessed them pick up a box and everything fall out of the bottom - thankfully nothing was broke. At the end of the day I was happy I didn't have to move our big furniture, but that's all I would hire them to do.

The movers were punctual and professional. They were well aware of what needed to be moved and surveyed the entire property prior to moving anything to ensure no damage was done to the property or furniture. The movers were not equipped with the proper truck but they made do without by carrying the heavy loads around the property from the lower level garage to the main level front entrance.

The two men sent by Simple Moves were punctual, fast, very friendly, and fully professional in every way. They took great care when wrapping our furniture to ensure that it was protected against scratches/damage while in the truck. In addition, the price we paid (including a 10% off Angie's List coupon) was noticeably less than the estimates provided by the other two movers we'd called. An excellent job at a very good price. Simple Moves definitely will be the company we'll call when we need our next move job done.

This company recognized what went wrong and acted quickly to correct the situation by apologizing and by taking care of the problem.

I contacted Simple Moves of St. Charles. The guy over the phone gave me quote. Chris, Kody and Logan arrived on time and did a great job. The job took less time than originally estimated, so I paid less than the quoted price. I will definitely hire Simple Moves again. (Hopefully, I will get the same crew). *P.S.-- Make sure you use their Angie's List coupon, I forgot to present mine.*

Simple Moves was fantastic! We really shopped around too and got lots of bids from others but just felt right about going with Simple Moves. We were not disappointed. Fred, Mike, and Damien were our movers, and we just felt they really cared about our stuff and doing an excellent job. They were very professional and knowledgeable, and the price was excellent. They worked fast but with care. We had already moved most of our many boxes ourselves so we only had furniture-- but it was quite challenging. There were a lot of tight spaces and some heavy pieces. We really scored with Simple Moves and would recommend them to anyone. The only thing they did not have or provide was protective floor covering. We had called about this ahead of time so we went ahead and purchased that beforehand. We just bought a huge roll of cardboard at Lockwood Flooring for about $80. And it worked out perfectly!

Aaron and Darius moved us and they were awesome!! Arrived on time and were very professional and polite. They handled our furniture and items with the upmost of care. I was extremely pleased with the work these two men did. They did not take a break or slow down one time. They were hustling and working hard the entire time they were on the clock. When we move again we will be asking for them as our crew again. I would not hesitate to use Simple Moves. Very fair in pricing and quality of work.

They were amazing, so careful with the new hardwood floors. We moved to an old home with lots of challenging small doorways, arches. They were great, had to get a little creative at times to get things where we wanted. Their attitude was friendly, pleasant and helpful. I would recommend and use them again!

I purchase a gorgeous dining table et al at an antique mall and I needed it to be moved to my home. I did not know about Simple Moves but had driven by it many times. Since I had just moved back to St Louis I noted it because I'm going to need several things moved (within the house) and just made note of it. I stopped by on my way home to check it out. I was immediately impressed by the fact that they had SO many certificates from Angie's List! I talked with Myeesha (I'm certain I misspelled that and apologize) who was very open and friendly. She explained how they did business and how the charges were made. I thought the charges were a bit high initially (that changed) but they had great reviews, were bonded and insured. I signed the contract for pick up scheduled the next day. I asked that the drivers call me before they got to the store so I could come to watch the packing. The estimated time frame was 1-4PM (they were early). I was called a little after noon--they were ready to go to the store--we arrived simultaneously. They padded the table top well and then wrapped it in 'shrink wrap--wrapped the 4 leaves in layers of padding. The store manager wanted them to carry the table (from almost in the front window) all the way through the store--passing many obvious breakables and impediments. Aaron and Stanley were wonderful, they convinced the man to let them take it out the front--which really was the way to do it. They made it to my house a few minutes before I did. When I let them in, they immediately moved anything breakable or hazardous out of the way and got the table etc. in perfectly. Aaron and Stanley were clean, personable and friendly. Stanley even said he was going to call the office and try to get the delivery price reduced since it was so simple and straightforward --I believe it took less than an hour. The Company reduced the delivery price by $90. I would recommend them highly and will definitely use them again when the need arises.

Initial call and scheduling was very easy. The online quote was nice, and I got quick results. We hired a 3-man team and the large truck. We were supposed to have them show up Friday morning between 8am and 9am with a phone call at least 30 minutes before to say they were on the way. When I didn't receive a call by 8:35am, I called the company. The manager answered and apologized for having a meeting that ran over in time. No big deal, but really it would have been nice to call me and tell me this instead of making me wonder if anyone was going to show up. The 3 guys arrived at 9:45am. There were 2 primary movers and the 3rd guy worked on loading the truck and strapping things in. The 2 movers got to work pretty quickly and did a really great job. I was surprised at how well they move heavy items with ease. I was a little taken back by the 3rd worker who seemed to spend a lot of time smoking cigarettes and looking at his cell phone. Once we were packed up, we headed to the new house. Aside from some narrow street issues which was not anyone's fault, I felt that the unloading could have gone a lot quicker if the 3rd guy was giving more effort. At one point the cigarette smoke could be smelled in most of the house and I had to ask that the front door be closed. It just wasn't professional, and to top it off, the sagging pants with undies hanging out the top was gross. The 2 primary movers did a great job at assembling the beds and were very polite. I wish that the guys or the company would think about maybe putting in a cooler of water in the truck. They didn't have any water with them at all. Having just moved to the new house, we didn't have much to offer. I think, however, that should be part of preparing for the workday. So overall, I had to give a B. I really did appreciate the 2 movers, but in the grand scheme of things, it could have been a lot better.

did bare minimum - cushions for couches were scattered not replaced on sofas - for 15 minutes of work which I had to pay for an hour would have thought they would at least set them up correctly.

They showed up on time and were extremely pleasant and diligent. I have never (and I have moved several times) seen such care taken with my furniture and especially a few antiques. Every piece was carefully wrapped in quilted blankets and then on plastic wrap. The whole thing took about 5 hours. Not a ding or a scratch! Roosevelt, Velton and Paul were the best! I will recommend Simple Moves to everyone I know.

Excellent service by their crew of McKenzie, Gill, and Jones. Prompt, courteous, and very careful with our furniture. We will use them again and recommend their services to anyone.
