The owner and a second man came to the residence on the day scheduled. Mid morning the owner left for a few hours leaving 1 man blowing leaves. In the afternoon the owner came to the door and told me they wouldn't be able to finish in a day because his blower had quit and it had taken time to go find another one. He said they'd be back the next day to finish the job. They showed up as promised the next day. Mid-afternoon he came to the door and told me they were finished and that it had been a lot more work than he had anticipated. I gave him $800 cash but did not go out and check the work as I trusted they would do the job agreed upon based on our conversations and the good reviews on Angie's List. I had to fly back to my office out of state the next day and was upset when I went to leave the next day and saw the property. About 1/3 of the leaves were left on the property. Leaves were left along the sides and around the top of the concrete driveway. Instead of removing the leaves into the woods and/or down the hill at the bottom of the property as agreed, they had been left in visible piles all around the edge of the property and no leaves had been cleared along the road leading down to the mailbox. $800 is a lot of money for me. I don't have extra money to be able to pay someone else to come finish the work and due to my work schedule have been able to do little to try to fix it myself so unfortunately, I see a reminder daily of just exactly what I got for $800.
Description of Work: Required removal of leaves from property, driveway, and along road leading to driveway. Owner came out and walked to property with me, discussed what was expected and said he would send estimate via e-mail. He was very pleasant to deal with and I received the estimate of $800.00. The price was high but he said they could get it done in one day and I believed that if they did a good job it would be worth it due to the number of trees and amount of work involved. I agreed to allow them to remove the leaves into the woods and/or down a ravine at the bottom of the property in lieu of removing them completely from the property to aid them in not having to removed them completely from the property.
