Jordan was extremely pompous and arrogant. Then he thought it would be okay to get snotty with a customer as well. In his case, the customer is always WRONG. It is literally the worst customer service I have ever received anywhere. I asked for his name, to which he REFUSED to give me. He said in a pompous, arrogant tone, "My name is on the receipt." rather than just tell me his name. I said, "This will all be going in your Google review. He laughed and, in a snide manner, remarked, "What are you going to say." I said, "the truth." Apparently, he doesn't care for the company he works for. I received the 3k in cash out of 8.7k, and not so much as a thank you. He turned his back and just walked away. In true db***** *** fashion. I will never do business here again. Apparently, you can buy 10 grand in silver at Scotsman, but you can only get 3k back in cash from this place and from an a-hole employee. All I can say is, never do business here. Go somewhere else. I bought in at 468 and sold at 600+ and BROKE EVEN. This place is a total rip-off. If I could give zero stars, I would. I will be complaining to the owner and the Better Business Bureau in formal letters. Good riddens.
Description of Work: They refused to purchase back what they had sold to me. 3k out of over 8k in silver. Then became pompous, arrogant amd rude. Absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced in 57 years. The owner is even worse. See his screen shots on Google Maps.

My brother and I, with our spouses, carried in four boxes of jewelry and coins on a Saturday morning. We were promptly greeted and serviced. One gentleman worked with my sister in law to do the jewelry while another gentleman went with my brother, husband and I to do the coins. They went through everything with us looking on. They explained everything they were looking at and offered their expertise. We were very pleased with the entire experience and felt as though we were treated with respect and given a fair value for the items.
Description of Work: Appraised and bought gold jewelry and all types of coins.

The experience was fantastic. My husband and I had gone to several shops looking for the "perfect" ring for me. They were very knowledgeable and helpful but never pushy. I found a beautiful vintage platinum ring from the 1930's and they volunteered to size it before we even put any money down. It was a gorgeous piece that was everything I wanted, plus it was very reasonably priced for a vintage, platinum ring with about a 1 ct. center stone. Every where else that even came close wanted around $5,000 for a similar piece and many of those were vintage recreations. They are wonderful every time I go in for a cleaning and I recommend them to anyone who is looking for a beautiful, reasonable vintage jewelry.

A friend and I went to the Hampton Inn in St. Louis where Scotsman Coin and Jewelry were evaluating, weighing and buying gold. We were there to get estimates on the value of our gold jewelry. Clay Teague was the individual who was assisting us. He seemed pleasant enough at first, however his attempt at humor felt forward and too familiar. It made me feel uncomfortable and suspicious, but I ignored my instincts and went along. He seemed a bit sloppy in the way he was checking my jewelry, and on a couple of occasions when he thought something wasn't gold, I asked him to test it as I thought it was, and upon testing it he realized he was mistaken. When we were finished, there was one gold bracelet I decided to sell and he offered me $113.00. I agreed to that price, but before he paid me, he asked for my driver's license and asked me to fill out a form that asked for some personal information, i.e., my address, phone number, etc. I noticed the form included a line wanting my social security number which he could see alarmed me when I brought it to his attention. Mr. Teague quickly scratched it out and said I didn't have to divulge it. I did not understand why I was required to reveal all this personal information. It felt invasive and unnecessary. When I registered my concerns with Mr. Teague, rather than offer an explanation, he immediately became irrascible, dismissive and angry. He handed me back my bracelet, waved us off and said we're through here and he wasn't going to argue or debate with me. My friend and I were both shocked at this sudden change. I was certainly not looking for an arguement or debate, but had Mr. Teague explained why they required my driver's license and other personal infromation, I still may not have chosen to render it, but I at least would have understood why the asked for it and would have been able to make an informed choice and decision. Mr. Teague's sudden mood change made me feel he was hiding something and doing something surreptitious. He was unprofessional and rude and my original instinct about his demeanor was apparently correct after all. His behavior was so shocking to me and my friend, I felt it was important to report this incident.
