It went smooth & even better than planned. Whenever the carpet was ripped up for the new padding & carpet to be laid a hole was found for where a table was plugged in before. The carpet guys just wanted to put a pad over it & move on. Unfortunately it was right in my pathway of where I was going to be using Alot!! I didn't know what to do b/c they were rushing/puahing to get it done & I KNEW I would regret it later on!! So I called Tom. He calmed me down & said what I needed to get from Home Depot that was close by. By the time I came back he was there. He mixed up this quick setting concrete, poured it in & Poof hole was gone along with being Smooth now!! Tom is a Team player tho he's committed to doing things the correct/best way for what the customer needs & wants. Needless to say, I got a new carpet installer.

Tom Shultz of Shultz Painting and Remodeling was one of the bright spots during our recent commercial buildout and renovation process. As with any project of this size, there are ups and downs with contractors, materials and timelines. Tom was absolutely stellar in every area. First, he was happy to come by, spend some time with us, and talk with us about what we wanted before giving us a no-cost quote. He also had some insightful suggestions that were quite helpful. Second, he has been in the contracting business a long time and understands how the different trades have to work with and around each other. He was able to book his time around some of the other work going on so as to not interfere with it. There were quite a few times he was working when we were not even there. We had no problem trusting him with access to our building when no one else was present. Another pleasant surprise was his long-term connections to suppliers. He was happy to pass along the material discounts he was able to obtain making our final cost lower. One area of our project was something I considered a bit crazy and extremely difficult, but Tom not only pulled it off and made it look spectacular, but he made it look easy! Lastly, what we (and most people) require of all our contractors is quality work at a reasonable price. Tom Shultz excelled in every area and we would not hesitate to utilize his expertise and services again in the future.

Better than I expected! It was a small but complicated project. My garage is in my basement under my kitchen with very low clearance and several electrical, gas, and water connections to content with which required fire-rated access panels. I needed an experienced contractor and Tom really has a "can-do" attitude. There were several obstacles and challenges making things fit in such a tight space, not once did Tom tell me there was a problem, he just got it done. He also had ideas that ended up saving me several hundred dollars. I received several bids. I had a good feeling about Tom, he really was the right guy for my project.

Excellent experience. I highly recommend Schulz Painting - Remodeling! The owner, Tom Schulz, does much, much more than painting. I don't know how many years experience he has, but whatever the number, he is knowledgeable, experienced and seasoned. More than that, he has the big vision that you can't teach; either you have it or your don't. And this guy has it. My project is a multifamily and I had a lot going on. Plumbing, electric and remodeling. Multiple units at the same time. Some of the units were occupied, some vacant. And I had a deadline when tenants were moving into two units in the building. Tom's work priorities shifted as needed, reflecting to me that he understood the nature, scope and time needed to get the project done on time. It was 100% completed on time. And he worked really hard to keep it on track. Seriously, many (most) contractors would have blown the deadline. For Tom, that wasn't an option. He really, really took care of me. He did more work than was on the bid. He worked with every other contractor onsite - electrician, plumber, hard wood refinishing crew. He even helped them do their jobs better. For example, he removed the quarter round from baseboards in two units before they sanded. And once they were done with the finish coat and the floor had dried, he cut, painted and installed new quarter round. Then he repainted all the baseboards. It made the floors pop. He really took their work and made it look much better. Those small details that really give a project a significant lift, Tom did it. Tom does excellent work. Done right, the first time. His price was competitive. Quality of work was impeccable. There were days he worked 10 hours. He was focused and intentional. He stayed in communication with me about his work plan for that day. Progress as made every single day. He cleaned up the work site every day. He was flexible in working with other contractors. More than flexible, he helped each one of them in specific, tangible ways. He made helpful suggestions to the electrician. He helped the plumber on a tight spot. The project Tom did for me involved remodeling 2 bathrooms + 2 kitchens, repair plaster, hang crown molding, install ceramic flooring in both bathrooms (which involved pouring the concrete sub floor). Tom's carpentry skills on the quarter round and the crown molding are spot on perfect. No gaps. In the process of doing the bathrooms, he did everything - drywall, paint, tub surround, installed sink + pantry closet, sweat copper lines, installed shower head, lighting, installed ceramic tile on bathroom floor, mastic + grout + sealer. Every day, before he came to the job site, he had created a spreadsheet for every 30 minute period of the day, what he was going to accomplish on the job site. Tom delivers results. I was impressed, pleased and had peace of mind. I have absolutely no reservation, no hesitation giving Tom highest acknowledgement and highest recommendations. Tom has painted the entire interior of our house over the past 20 years. We never consider hiring anyone else. Tom gets a bid for the work out quickly, and starts and completes the job quickly and efficiently. His work is high quality. Tom was a consummate professional. He provided fair and timely budgets for the scope of work and adjusted his timeline based on our personal needs. Tom worked daily for 1.5 weeks during hours when we were at work - we left minimal instructions and paint swatches and he handled the rest. We felt very comfortable with him working independently in our house. He cleaned up well, protected furniture and minimized disruptions to our home during the job. Most importantly, the quality and efficiency of his plaster repair and painting work were top notch. Tom is an excellent communicator and gave the job a personal touch. I highly recommend Tom Schulz at Schulz Painting for painting and drywall repair! From the beginning and throughout the process Tom was both highly professional and pleasant to communicate with. I appreciated that he is sole person that I worked with, from initial contact, estimating, performing the work, and invoicing. Rather than meeting someone I felt comfortable with for the estimate and then having potentially a different experience with the person doing the work. Tom would give me a heads up text when he was on the way to my residence so I knew when to expect his arrival. My original estimate included two ceilings, an accent wall, and several dry wall crack repairs. Tom and I found several additional spots that needed TLC after he started the job and he had no problem fixing those as well without adjusting the price. He also helped me to move my furniture out of the way rather than asking me to have the rooms ready before his arrival and wet Swiffered all the wood floors after patching the drywall. Because I wanted to do spot repairs and not repaint whole walls, Tom needed to match the 10+ year old paint to blend in the repairs. He took samples but the first match wasn't exactly right. I think someone else might have said that's close enough, especially since this was the last part of the job on the last day. Tom came back the next morning to get another wall sample and went out to the paint store to get a match in the daylight. This time it was a perfect match. Even though I know where the repairs are, the difference between the new and old paint is undetectable!

The job was a small one, but very visible to my wife and I and anyone visiting the house. Mr. Schultz, who has done other kinds of internal home repairs for us in the past (painting and plastering), found a way to work us into his busy schedule quickly, came exactly when he said he would, and made quick work of the job. Fixing our gap-toothed foyer steps was undoubtedly a small job for him, but very important to us. This kind of service-oriented customer attention is a rare find.

Tom was extremely gracious, friendly and very professional during the whole process. The finished product is perfect. I hung new drywall and my garage and hired Schulz Painting to finish mud and prime the walls for me. There was a fair amount of older drywall in the garage and you can’t tell where the new drywall begins and the old ends. Tom was very trustworthy. I just left me garage open while at work so that he could perform his work. I would highly recommend him to anybody that asks and will definitely be hiring him again.

I've hired Tom several times (almost once per year for one thing or another) since we bought our 92 year old Tudor in 2014. He has painted nearly every room in our home, installed crown molding throughout, done copious amounts of plaster repair and redid our powder bath vanity. He was a lifesaver after water damage from the 2015 spring storms made its way into our house. He not only paints but was able to reinstall some tile in our bathroom to fully repair the damage. It is nice that I know to expect that shortcuts won't be made when I hire Tom. Anytime a repair or project comes up in our home, he's always my first call. I could not recommend his craftsmanship and expertise enough. He doesn't just paint walls, but takes his time to evaluate the surface and ensure that cracks and uneven surfaces are taken care of. For many of my projects he'd provide great advice about different ways to accomplish the look I was after, I was able to evaluate the cost and ease of the options as I made my decision. I appreciate Tom's candor as his experience with older homes far outweighs mine. He typically schedules initial consultations in the evenings, which is great if you're working full time. I also appreciate that he'd be available via text while the project was going on in case I needed to get in contact.

Tom is a true professional. We thankfully discovered Tom who took over our renovation after a previous contractor left our project for another one. He was able to work within our previous budget and design layout while offering excellent ideas without overwhelming us. His craftsmanship is superior and we get compliments from guests all of the time. Tom took a disaster and made it a masterpiece. And he is a great guy.

Prompt response to request and for work to begin. All painting was neat and clean-up was great. Care was taken to protect furniture and carpet. We were at home when work was done. Little noise and disturbance other than moving of furniture, etc. prior to work beginning. Tom was very friendly and was knowledgeable. Had all the proper equipment to speed the project along. Not sure about fairness of price as we did not get other bids.

I forgot I had this coupon until after it expired. I think I've learned my lesson not to buy coupons unless I'm ready to execute my plans.

Called and scheduled an appointment. He said he would like to do it at the end of the day. I waited for a while and called him when he didn't show up at the said time. He completely denied making an appointment and later admitted he may have forgotten to make an entry in his appointment calendar. Promised to call back in 48hrs and never did that either. I am glad I figured out his lack of punctuality upfront rather than start a work and get stuck with someone like this.I will not recommend this contractor.

It was probably within the month I bought it. It was just the $99. I give him a B, he didn't finish the work. He was really professional, courteous and stuff like that so I give him an A there. I had a textured ceiling and he was just fixing a patch on it, towards the end he just kind of gave me the materials and told me what to do and he just left. I finished it now. He did a fair amount for the price. If he would have finished it, I think it would have been exceptional. He really knew what he was doing but he didn't finish it. It took about 3 times me calling him to finally get him over there. He came out right away the first time and then he said he would be back the next day and it took about 3 days later continuously calling to get him out there.

Tom was responsive and very fair priced. Prompt and got the work done on time and on budget. Would definitively recommend.

I have been very patient with waiting now for over a year to have this service. I have tried several times through email and phone calls to schedule this work, and over a year later- it has not been done. Wish I could get my money back.

Was very thorough. I purchased four hours of carpentry work but then decided to cancel, not based on anything the contractor did. He was very patient and took time to look at all the other home repair issues the home had.

It took longer than expected, and I helped sand as well.

Tom does good quality work and knows what he is doing. In addition, he is very consistent in his communications and goes out of his way to ensure he is on the same page as his clients. He is also very prompt and meets his commitments. The last thing I'll say about Tom is that he goes out of his way to ensure the customer is happy.

The scheduling took a while,but once scheduled, the job went smoothly. He also gave us estimates for another job, which we considering.

Tom was awesome. He is very busy and due to the quality / honesty of his work, he has lots and lots of business. That said, he regularly stays in touch and is willing to work with your schedule to make things happen. Mine was a very small job, but he definitely takes the "all clients are equal approach". I would recommend him to anyone and plan on using him again when we get our house ready to sell.
