Went well. They were able to make it out Friday evening and fix out furnace.

Based on a recommendation, I called this company to come out and take a look at an air conditioning unit. My initial phone call was pleasant enough - we discussed the basics of the problem and set up an appointment for a few days later. On the morning of the appointment, I got a phone call asking for details about where I was located. After I said that I lived in an apartment building downtown, I was told that they don't have the "equipment" or the "manpower" to do the job. I have several problems with this. (1) If this is a legitimate limitation to the scope of work this company can provide, that could have easily been assessed during the first conversation, so that I didn't rely and wait for my appointment for several days. (2) My unit is on the top floor of a 5 story building, with a door that provides direct access to the roof. You walk outside the door of my apartment, and the A/C units are on the same level and in clear view. There is no climbing or special equipment that would be necessary in order to perform the work. When I inquired further about what exactly the problem was, I was told that "we normally work in the county." This despite the fact that the person who recommended this company to me lives in the city. All in all, my experience with Richardson was both mystifying and deeply unsatisfying.

Richardson installed a new bypass humidifier. They arrived on time and did the work without a problem. The humidifier is working beautifully. They also maintain our system and do it with a smile and on time. They usually don't require the three hour window of waiting that others do. They also don't try to sell us on more than we need.

I called them out because a previous company (I reported on them here) wanted about $1900 to replace the compressor. They replaced the compressor for $900.00 with warranty and it is working great. I would recommend them to anyone.

WHEN THE HEAT WENT OUT, HE WAS OUT WITHIN ABOUT AN HOUR AND A HALF OF MY CALL. HE WAS ABLE TO FIX THE WIRING PROBLEM RIGHT AWAY. HE ALSO DID A GREAT JOB FIXING A BLOWER ON MY A/C OVER THE SUMMER.
