RB Contracting

The overall experience was terrible. I'll provide a recap with my opinion and then the facts bellow. RECAPRick was unable to be on time for even the most basic appointments. He did apologize, but that didn't change his behavior. He was later rude (swearing at me), unprofessional, and overall irresponsible. He was even borderline threatening. FACTSI contacted Rick Blankenship when I found him on craigslist originally. I spoke to him and explained I had a garage that was probably in need of replacement. Rick said he could stop by that same day to look at the garage. About 2 hours later Rick showed up to my home to look at the garage. We talked for a while about options and budget. After talking he stated he could complete a basic repair of the garage within my budget ($7,000). I then asked Rick if this would be something he would even be interested in doing. He told me he would definitely be interested. However, he wanted to get the opinion of his "Master Carpenter" whose nickname was Woody. He said he would get back to me that day of the following morning to schedule a time to come by with Woody. The next day I did not receive a call from Rick. I gave him a call later in the day and left a message and he called back soon after. he explained he was moving and apologized for not calling. He then said he was going to stop by the following day with Woody and 930 am. After he told me he scheduled that time I agreed that it would be a good time. The following morning 930am rolls around and no Rick. He calls me at 1040am to say he and Woody would be coming by in a few hours. I asked him what happened that he didn't show up at 930am and he offered to show up at 930 that night..... I told him I was referring to the morning and he stated that Woody was busy installing a door and that "the ball was in his court" so that's why they didn't show up at 930am. He apologized and stated he didn't want to start off on a bad foot and lose my business. We then agreed on 1230pm that same day. At about 1230pm I get a call from Rick stating he was close and would be by soon. I then hear a beep from my motion sensor in the garage and look out and see Rick and Woody. I walk out to meet them and ask Rick if he was going to knock or let me know he was on my property. Rick stated he called to let me know he was close and I explain that I'd like to know when he enters my property because I have dogs, etc. At this point Rick starts getting verbally aggressive. He asks if I want him to leave and starts walking away. He calls Woody and starts saying he's not interested in the work and that it can't be done for $7,000 anyway. This is when Rick really becomes unprofessional. He starts using profanity and states he doesn't want this "s***" anyway. As he's walking away and I am escorting them off my property, Rick turns to me and asks if I have a problem "tough guy" and "what's your f****** problem tough guy? Why are you looking at me like that". Woody tells Rick to "simmer down" and "stop swearing". I told Rick I want him off my property and they continued to leave.

Excellent. Prompt response, accurate and fair estimate and job completed on time and within budget.
