R & R Improvements

Completely unprofessional and deliberately wasted my time. I called on Thursday to ask for an estimate, we had a nice chat, he said as early as possible Saturday morning was the best time for him to come look at the basement to prepare his estimate. I said I would coordinate with my mother, who would be the one to let him in, and get back to him with a time. I also asked for and obtained his email address, to send him photos I had of the area. I sent him an email later on Thursday, including 8 am Saturday as the time for the estimate. When I didn't hear back, I called and left a voicemail on Friday, stating again the 8 am time for the estimate. On Saturday, I received an irate message from my mother, wondering where the contractor was, as it was a couple hours past 8 am. I called him, and he said he hadn't checked his email, he'd gotten my voicemail, and had been intending to call me, and then said that he'd decided it was too much work for him, as he was semi-retired and couldn't work that much. If he'd been up front, or even timely in letting me know, I wouldn't leave such a harsh review, but such unprofessionalism and disregard for the needs of others is inexcusable.

he arrived a few minutes early and went right to work on my basement door. It now works beautifully. He even took out a bunch of junk to the dumpster that I wasn't able to remove because I hadn't been able to open the door. He glued down the ripped vinyl flooring (ripped from a wheelchair because we had floating flooring and it isn't wheelchair friendly) reattached vinyl trim under the cabinets, one security light was replaced and he purchased two new bulbs for another one, fixed a small ramp leading to the back door so the wheelchair rolls smoothly thru the doorway, moved the entry door in and pretty much reconstructed the entire doorway to install the new storm door, installed door handles, and took out a pile of flattened boxes and other trash from my deck to the dumpster. he repaired 3 gates to my backyard. I'm almost sure he did more but I'm forgetting the little stuff. Ron is a very friendly guy and listens to what you want and helps to come up with a solution. I am calling him back to do a bunch more work for me. I would definitely recommend him to my friends and family and everyone else, too!

Very happy with the final outcome. Dave is a heck of a carpenter and a nice person as well. Bob's communication was very good.

This job was a difficult one requiring more effort and hard work then originally thought. Ron was here every morning working on the project to complete it to my satisfaction. It is beautiful and adds very much to the appearance of the exterior of the house. Another professional contractor was completing some work on my house around the same time and commented favorably on the appearance and workmanship of my new retaining wall. Thanks Ron. You did it again.

Ron Black is my neighbor and the person I call whenever I have a problem. I try to maintain 3 different properties and he is always more than happy to help me repair problems ON THE SPOT. He has gone out in freezing temperatures and completed emergencies. I have used his expertise before and will continue to use him when he is available.

All work performed to code and of very high quality. No complaints. All work done in timely manner. Installer very courteous.

R and R Improvments' quote was high for me. I think it's not a big job that's why they gave me a high quote.

The high quality work stood out about them. My interactions were excellent. It was an extensive project. They were excellent.

I hired R and R to do a small job. I didn't realize that they were a contracting team (they were in Angie's List as Handymen). In any case. They earn the solid ratings on Angie's List that they are building over the years. The two men I met Ron and a friend (I guess) also named Ron, came in and did the job exactly as we needed. I left a note for a small correction to be made between day two and three and it was done without any further need for clarification (calling me at work, etc.). They are good quality (excellent detail oriented) craftsman. Ron Black was helpful to our needs because we weren't with a big budget and had a damaged area in an upstairs part of our old row house (Benton Park) that was overdue for repair. We wanted to do something a little nice with the corner and he gave us options. Watched us change schedule and change mind several times and stayed on track with us and still came to on the morning that our schedules were all corrected. Appreciated his patience, professionalism. His ability to get down to work (after a bit of chit chatting...) and all details taken care of and clean house left when he left. Will call again when we have some extra funds... Good fellows.

I was really impressed. They got in and got the work done quickly. They were easy to work with and they were on time on getting everything finished. They did a really good job. The place looked better than it did before the damage. I would recommend them.

I was having a really hard time finding someone to fix the problem. Until I found Rand R. I live about 25 mins East of St Louis but even so he drove out to look at the door and give me a estimate. I thought the price was more than fair. He showed up when he said he was going to and did a great job. He seems like a good guy too. I would use his services again.

Ron was hired to replace kitchen cabinets, floor, countertop, sink , faucet , two outlets and lights for under the counter. He helped me in the selection of the cabinets, countertop and floor. He stayed in touch with me while we waited to start once the cabinets were delivered. He worked for a week to complete the job. He was always on time and put in full work days. He was always great about discussing the project as it went along and welcomed questions. He readily made any changes I asked for. I hope to hire Ron again soon for another project.

As usual, the installation went very well for us. There are always issues with older homes but R and R Improvements never seems surprised and always has a solution for those glitches.

I liked it a lot. I would use them again.

Ron is a contractor who performs large jobs, but I was desperate to have someone install locks on my basement door (my husband and I had tried to do it ourselves and failed). It was a simple job but everyone we called wanted to charge a lot to make the small job "worth their time," and the one inexpensive handyman we found suddenly stopped returning our calls after saying he would do the job. I found Ron on Angie's List and told him my situation, and he immediately scheduled a visit for a few days later. He installed the two locks in less than an hour and did a great job. His price was reasonable given the time and effort involved, and he was very friendly.

The owner is Ron Black. Of the two doors he replaced, one was very difficult, he had a hard time doing it, but he was able to fix it. It locks perfectly. I feel very safe, leaving my mom there. It is a fantastic door. He also replaced the side door on her house, it wasn't a threat risk, but it opens perfectly and it closes perfectly. I can't say enough good things about Ron. I hired Ron Black firstly because he got an A rating on Angie's List. I have actually used him before. He did a lot of work for me. He is very fair and he does fantastic work very cheaply and very quickly. I have just recommended him to my sister in law. I put him right at the top of the list because he needs the business and he is a fantastic contractor. His price is very fair. His responsiveness was excellent, he always called me back and he was very prompt. He was there when he said he would be there. He explained everything in terms that a layman like me could understand. I knew what I was getting; he explained why things needed to be done the way they needed to be done. He is a fantastic guy and I would recommend him to anyone.

He's coming Saturday to start and give me an estimate. He is excellent.

I called Ron up for an estimate. He started a week later. It took him 2 weeks to finish, plus an extra 2 to finish up the granite countertops. We were waiting on the granite company. Ron was great to work with. He always returned my calls. I really liked his price, which was thousands lower than the other estimates I received. Ron was a true professional, and I would recommend him.

R and R Improvements listened to what we wanted and incorporated every detail we were looking for. They rendered a drawing of the porch and we met to discuss the details. They made suggestions on the design detail, described materials to be used and explained construction methods. They drafted documents for and got the necessary permit. The construction site was kept neat and clean so that we could still use part of our backyard and access the house from the back. If any issues arose (example: unexpected tuckpointing) we were quickliy notified with a resolution and fair estimate of additional work needed. Approvals were always sought before additional work began. The additional work did not seem to delay progress on the project and it was completed in a timely manner. R and R Improvements is a top notch professional company and their craftmenship is superior!
