They recently built our beautiful new pool, and their attention to detail and craftsmanship were really impressive from start to finish. But the true knock-out came just a few days before a big pool party.
We noticed an issue with the pool's filtration system and were worried it would ruin our plans. I called Prestige in a bit of a panic, hoping they could send someone out to take a look. To my surprise, their response was immediate. They scheduled a technician to come out the very next day. Saved the day!
The technician arrived promptly, diagnosed the issue quickly, and had it fixed in no time. He even took the time to explain what had gone wrong and gave us tips on how to prevent similar issues in the future. Very impressed and highly recommend!

Dear Ms. Raiford,
We apologize for any inconvenience caused by our current availability. As you can imagine, this is our busiest time of the year and we have had to prioritize our commitments to existing customers. We understand your frustration and regret that we were unable to assist you with your leaking filter issue at this time.
Thank you for your understanding.

Horrible! Prestige pools promised the world when selling us the pool and fell short at every turn. I own a home renovation company so know the game. Signed contract because they promised it would be built before the winter. Mid June after many calls they finally started. They worked a day here....a day there....never letting us know when or why . I made many calls asking when the guys would build because of what was promised and I needed to get more concrete done around the pool once they were done. Secretary every time was like talking to a recording, saying the same bull they tell everyone on why pool wasn’t done. I ended up hiring my own crew to backfill ditch in yard and grade yard that had huge piles of dirt for months left . They left a massive pile of gravel in middle of yard no where close to pool for me to get rid of. My pump pipes leaning so bad I have to re do. Concrete around the pool is undermined all over . Left concrete dust in pool and made us vacuum up. Cracks in concrete, tape , caution tape, and trash left all over the place. No matter how many calls I make they never show to finish. They take half the money on start, almost half half way through, and never show up to finish. They take as many jobs as they can to sell and once they get money you will wait forever to get started and they will put you on the back burner to finish if they even do. Worse experience ever. If I ran my business like prestige I wouldn’t have a business

What I learned through this process is that no matter how good you are and how much experience you have building pools, it's still a multi-phased project that is dependent on the weather. I contracted with Prestige because they have 30+ years in the business. They know what to do and what not to do and advised accordingly. The pool was recently completed and is exactly what I wanted. The sales rep who worked on my pool design tied in the existing patio and created a great space for outdoor seating facing the pool and woods. Everyone who came out from Prestige was knowledgeable and friendly. I went with a vinyl liner in-ground pool because my neighbor who has an in-ground fiberglass pool recently paid $15k to repair it. I figured a liner replacement down the road is cheaper than a fiberglass repair. My pool was about half the total project cost. The other half consists of a head pump, extra concrete decking, stone wall, fence, cool deck coating with stone border around pool, and cantilever coping.

Description of Work: They installed a new liner to an above ground Ester Williams pool orginally installed by them 25 years ago. Rick and Chad who installed the pool liner knew what they were doing, worked very hard, and did an excellent job. My only complaint is that I ordered the liner in mid April and it was not installed until August. I was not able to locate anyone else willing to do this job so I do not hat any way to judge price.

Mr. [removed member name], Thank you for the nice review, we would have loved to get the replacement liner installed for you much earlier, but the rains, lots of rain, 8 months worth in 3 months, did not allow us to do this any sooner. Drier conditions are a must to do the replacement in order to ensure a satisfactory job. Again Thank you!

Description of Work: I could describe Prestige Pools in one word... AWESOME! |However, their excellence in pool design, construction, product quality, support and professionalism deserve much more. |It should first be noted that the only possible location of our pool was challenging in itself given that our yard dropped off quickly away from our hillside home. Only Prestige reassured us that they could handle the installation. And they were spot on as all phases of the construction went perfectly! Our finished pool is well constructed and beautiful making our backyard a place to relax and enjoy thanks to everyone at Prestige! |John and Pam |

We have been customers of Prestige Pools and Spas for 15 years, since 1999 when the built our in-ground pool. They are family owned and operated, and it shows in everything they do! Their prices are certainly competitive, but it is their service after the sale that keeps us satisfied customers. They have always responded promptly to any questions or requests, and their great customer service is what keeps us coming back year after year!

At our first meeting with Joan Struckhoff, owner Prestige Pools, my wife and I made it known that we were interested in finding a company that could handle pool installation, fence installation and concrete decking. Joan assured my wife and I they could accomodate us. About the fence: Joan assured us they could install a seven foot fence, if we could obtain a license in the county and in our subdivision. Weeks into the project we incurred problems obtaining a license. Joan blamed St. Charles City Hall for the delay. We decided to handle the license and fencing ourselves. It wasn't until much later Joan admitted that Prestige Pools had never installed a seven foot fence. If we had been aware of this at the beginning, we would have gone with another pool company.About the concrete: We also requested additional concrete work around the pool area. Their subcontractor came to the house to start work on the original area. My wife spoke to the manager who was very rude to her regarding our proposed changes. We called Prestige Pool and requested their subcontractor not return. Prestige Pool did arrange for another contractor. In the mean time, Prestige Pool provided a new estimate which was double the original amount for the additional concrete work. We called Prestige Pool's (new) contractor directly to verify that he had not made a mistake in the estimate. He informed us that he had not been to our property to work up an estimate. The new estimate we were given was fabricated by Prestige Pools. Several days later the new contractor came by our home and left his calling card in the door. After several attempts to get a true cost estimate for the concrete work, my wife and I were forced to find a contractor ourselves.Prestige Pool finished their pool installation late July 2012. The quality of work is subpar. The installation of the water lines to the pump and filter are continuously leaking. The electrician left a line unplugged which generated the chlorine for the pool. Other electrical wiring to pool equipment was not properly tide off and left on the ground. The excavating around the pool was not properly leveled. That statement was made by Prestige Pools own subcontractor. Prestige Pool told us it would be the new concrete company's responsibility to complete the leveling effort. Prestige Pool performed 1/3 of the original contract tasks. They failed to properly estimate changes to proposal that included a 7 ft. fence and additional concrete work. My wife and I signed a contract on May 09, 2012 and as of August 2012 we were still negotiating contract changes. Due to their inability to provide a detailed bill of materials, labor cost and unreasonable price increases for the changes proposed, we no longer trusted their ability to provide us with a quality product. My wife and I were given minimal credit for the fence and the concrete. In the end, we paid entirely too much for the purchase and installation of a small fiberglass pool. UPDATE: Prestige Pools sent in a report to the BBB prior to our complaint. Since Prestige Pools is a member of the BBB, we assume they were trying to head off damage to their reputation. We sent a complaint report to the Better Business Bureau after receiving this notification . The Administration Assistant for Prestige Pools filled out report information. How could she give an accurate account of what happened on the day of the sale when she wasn't even present at the appointment in our home nor was she on site when several of the conversations took place ? Admin. Assistant's evaluation of this sale was littered with incorrect and sensationlized information along with very trashy talk. The BBB states on their website that profanity is not tolerated. Evidently trash talk is overlooked in some cases. We expected a quality product for a fair price. By hiring our own concrete and fence contractors we saved thousands of dollars. Let that be a lesson to everyone. Negotiate all work being done for your home projects.
Description of Work: We originally hired Prestige Pools to install a fiberglass pool, install a fence and install concrete decking. By the end of the process, they installed the pool only.

I would never use them again. They didn't finish the work, and they didn't call me back. I contacted them and it took 6 or 8 weeks. The had to keep coming back out to finish the job. The communication was terrible. They broke a piece off the valve head on the filter. I had to replace the whole thing this year. They didn't come back after that, nor did I want them back. I will absolutely not use Prestige again.

Terribly.
Description of Work: I asked them to close my pool and replace a pressure gauge. Neither got done to completion. The communication with the service manager was horrible. He would tell me he would call me back and there would be no return call. He would say someone was coming out on a particular day and no one would show up. Then someone would show up on a day I did not expect. The pool was green and they dumped my chlorine into the pool and said they would have to come back to vacuum. They did not return in a timely fashion thus requiring more chlorine. They were just not dependable at all.

After contacting several different pool service companies with no luck, I spoke with the Service manager at Prestige. He walked me through fix for my problem at no charge to help me save cost for a service call. There is still one small problem remaining with my pool that needs a part, but he referred me to an on-line source where I could order the part at significant savings if I was (and am) able to install it myself. Great service, knowledge, and professionalism. Hired them on the spot to do all my future open/close and service if needed. Will definitely use them again. Highly recommend

The job went well, the follow up went poorly.
Description of Work: They came and opened the pool on the date they said. However, there was an issue with the motor which had to be replaced. This went relatively well, but because it took so much time, we were unable to perform the "pool school." We were told that in approximately 10 days, we would reconvene for pool school. We called 4 times that week to confirm. We called 4 times because no one at the office would ever get back with us. No one seemed to have access to any kind of schedule. We also called to see if there was anything we needed to do to the pool in the interim. Again, no return phone call. They have no set person to orchestrate schedules, and even though we were assured by various folks who answered the phone that today would be the day for "pool school," they did not come to teach us pool maintenance today. We are terminating their involvement in our pool maintenance. Funny, when we called today, they told us we weren't even on their schedule (which we had previously called 4 times to confirm). If they fix their office and scheduling, we would be happy to use them again. At this time, on the brink of a 90 degree day, we are unable to swim in a wonderful pool because it has not yet been treated or maintained.

Owning an inground swimming pool had been a life long dream, so after 23 years of marriage and persistence on my part, my husband finally agreed this past summer. It’s an expensive investment, so I did my homework ahead of time. I wanted to make sure I found a company that had favorable BBB ratings, as well other favorable consumer reviews, not to mention numerous local awards, as well as pictorial proof of their attention to detail and esthetics. I’d had different contractors place bids. When the sales team of Joan and Fran (later to find that they were also the owners) visited our home, I was immediately comfortable with their style, professionalism and authentic friendly attitude. I’m quite detailed oriented and I felt like they could work with a “persnickety” customer like me. They truly proved themselves. It was a joy! While there were a couple of other contractors who made less expensive offers, I felt that an investment of this nature needed more to be taken into consideration, in addition to price, but also trust in their character and integrity for service, construction and maintenance of product and equipment through the years. I have to admit, I probably wasn’t the easiest of customers, I’m a bit of a perfectionist and I wanted to know what was happening every step of the way. From pool selection, to positioning the pool and surrounds in the proper place, to installation and explanation of how it all works! Every single member of their team from John and his excavating team, lead contractor, Bob and his team, to the guys who cleaned things up and got the equipment all working well…to the “pool school teacher – Caroline” back at the office who teaches the pool owners how to maintain the chemicals for their new pools. Each and every one of the Prestige Staff was professional, patient, informative and downright friendly. Admittedly I was naïve and unrealistic, like most folks in the beginning, thinking a swimming pool was a “fast procedure.” Now after the process is complete, I have such a better understanding and appreciation of all the many steps required to make the pool a reality. Actually with all that I know now....the process is pretty fast considering all that is done. There is so much involved from start to finish when constructing a pool: precise scheduling of the many city permits meetings, ordering parts, scheduling different types of the contracting teams and their workers to all work together is an amazing science in itself. Not to mention the unpredictability of the weather. Prestige is SO BLESSED to have Connie Anderson at the directing helm of this business, this woman is a dynamo! She is the queen of multi-tasking, and she does a beautiful job keeping all projects moving forward. Constant contact with her made this Swimming Pool Journey….a true pleasure! I could not be happier with our pool from Prestige! It’s absolutely gorgeous! Better than I’d ever imagined. We are all thrilled and looking forward to many enjoyable years of relaxation and fun with friends and family! Many many heartfelt thanks to everyone at Prestige! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY!

They were very good and very professional. The only issue that I had was they told us that they were going to install on weekends. So the project did not start till September because we had a lot of oiling and stuff, which delayed the enclosing and everything else. That was not fun. But it was not their fault and I would use their services again in the future.
