He did a thorough job inspecting the property and seemed to be very knowledgeable on the correct way vs the shortcuts the previous owner had taken, as well as code violations. He said if I wanted it done right I could count on him, however he admitted he couldn't do it as cheaply as the previous quote I'd gotten. I appreciated his honesty and would call him again in a heartbeat!

The sprayer unit on my kitchen faucet had begun leaking water even when it wasn't being used. Water squirted from it every time the faucet was used. I called Plumbing Plus on a Saturday afternoon and Matt answered the phone right away. He listened to my description of the problem and then advised me of a possible quick fix that I could try myself at no charge. He said many of the sprayer units leaked simply because they came loose and told me how I could try tightening the screw underneath the sink. He didn't want to come out and charge me $100 just to tighten a screw. That turned out not to be my problem, but I really appreciated him offering that solution to possibly save me money. I don't think many people would do that. When I called Matt back and told him it still leaking, he told me he could come out later that afternoon. He arrived as promised, quickly assessed the problem, got the necessary parts and the leak was fixed. Matt was very personable and professional. My job was small and simple and he charged me less than his normal rate. I appreciated his honesty, his good work and the fact that he was able to come on a Saturday. I will definitely call him again when my next plumbing problem arises.

1. I called about the repairs in the morning of February 24, and even though his schedule was full for the day, Matthew was willing to stop by at the end of the day or early the next morning (I chose the next morning). 2. The next morning he showed up on time and gave an estimate for the two repairs, to be completed later that day after he obtained the necessary parts for the repairs. 3. The repairs were completed later that day, as promised, for the labor charge as promised and the actual charge for the parts, which was slightly less than estimated. 4. Matthew was friendly & professional. The problems are fixed.

After installing a new washer and dryer, it was discovered that the faucets to which the new hoses were connected were corroded and badly leaking. As usually happens when things start to go wrong in your home, the valves under my kitchen sink also went bad and I had no water pressure to my faucet or to my dishwasher. After calling Matt on a Saturday morning, he stopped by later that day to assess the situation and then returned the following day (a Sunday) to make the repairs. Within an hour he had everything working again and was on his way. He was very personable and knowledgeable in his work. I will definitely be calling him again just merely for the fact that he provided such prompt and reliable service.

Matt came out on a Saturday and worked pretty much non-stop for 5 hours. He was very knowledgeable and kept me informed about everything he was doing. His work was very professional; everything works fine and looks good. His pricing was very reasonable, and he did two other jobs, besides the installations, with no complaint even though he had to go out and get parts, because I hadn't called him to tell him that I wanted them scheduled for the same day.
Description of Work: I had a dishwasher and garbage disposal installed. I had a my water heater re-piped, because the cold was going into the hot and vice versa. I had a hose bib replaced.

Mathew came out to my duplex and seemed to be very knowledgable in what was needed as far as the plumbing. He thouroughly checked every aspect of the job. But he has yet to send me an estimate. After a week I called him to see if maybe he didn't have my correct email address, he said that he sent it, so I forwarded my address again. Still I've heard nothing. No follow up, no estimate, nothing. Perhaps the job was too much for him. Best business practice would be to let the customer know.

Plumber listened to my issues and asked specific questions regarding if the tank was filling properly and if the little water there was in the bowl swirled or created a vortex when flushed. Both of those answers were "yes." He was honest and said that it was a venting issue (caused as I suspected by the last plumber that had been there three weeks before) and couldn't be easily solved unless the whole toilet was replaced. However, he said the functionality of the toilet was still okay and I wasn't hurting anything or causing bigger problems by continuing to use the toilet as it is now. He didn't charge me for the advice or consultation. He did encourage me to call him back if either of the initial questions he asked had been answered "no" as opposed to yes. Honest, friendly, and very professional.
Description of Work: Contacted plumber that the toilet bowl would not fill completely after flush. After about two hours it would usually fill half way.

Thank you for your review, Id like to invite all Angies List customers to call if they have a question, Plumbing, Drain cleaning, or other. I have never minded walking someone through a problem over the phone, even if I don't have an opening in my schedule to out to make it there at that present time. My estimates are always free along with my advice. Thankyou, Matt

I got Matt's number off of Angie's list and called him to video snake my sewer line. He came out in 1-2 days at the time I suggested in order to meet my work schedule (this is very important to me because it's hard to leave work during work hours). He was able to diagnose the problem and give me a bid. He explained exactly what he was going to do and scheduled me within 2 weeks. I did research other plumbers and decided to go with Matt because he had a fair price and was very detailed with his explanations (I tend to ask a lot of questions). He completed the job in 2 days (the timeframe he told me). My yard was a bit beaten up because of the equipment used to fix the issue. He put down seed, dirt, and straw in order to fix the yard. He is returning in a few weeks to check the progress of the settling dirt. At that time, he will told me he will add more dirt and repave my side walk. I will write another review after everything is completed. I feel that Matt takes pride in his company and work. I have a very old house with old plumbing (cast iron) and as long as i'm happy with the finish product (re-paved side walk), I will use matt for future projects.

The faucet in the bath/shower did not turn off completely without extra effort. I purchased a replacement Moen cartridge being told the process was simple. When I attempted to do it the job was complicated by the years of corrosion essentially welding the cartridge in place. I realized I needed a professional. I called Plumbing Plus based on reviews on Angie's List. Matt answered the phone himself...no phone tree or disembodied voice. I appreciate that. I explained the problem to him and he said he would be able to be here that day about 5:30. Just before 5:00 he called to say he would be delayed, but would be here by 6:00. He arrived as promised, went to work and had the tool to remove the defective cartridge. The new one is installed and the faucet works as it is supposed to work. Matt is personable and professional. Easy to work with. I would definitely call him again when plumbing problems appear. I can recommend him to anyone needing a plumber.

I came out a first time on a second job for this customer for an estimate, and scheduled the work. I was assured that this 5 unit building(2 commercial/3 residential) in Jennings. had separate shutoffs to each unit. the land lord was wrong.so my scheduled on time trip was wasted (at no charge). I called him to let him know that he needed to notify his tenants that the water would be shutoff ahead of time(by law your suppose to give notice of 24 hours to tenants). he just told me to knock on there doors the next time I was out there. now personally this should be done by the landlord. I'm not really comfortable banging on what probably wouldn't even qualify for section 8 status apartments, in Jennings at 9am till someone woke up. now ill admit he called me back, I told him I would try to get back out there. But this is a 60+ year old valve, you cant just get parts at home depot. I had to do it between 9 to 3 the hours necessary to go to Jennings, pull the valve stems, drive to Soulard plumbing in Webster Groves, and hope they have a match for a no name valve. the whole time the buildings water would be off. I just could not fit this call back into my schedule no mater how hard he pressed. I should have told him I could not make it back out in the narrow time frame he requested. and that is my fault.

Matt was phenomenal! He came out on a Saturday for a free estimate, during which he crawled in our very small crawlspace to diagnose the problem. He answered all of our questions and let us know that he could return the next day (SUNDAY!!!) and fix it all for just over $300. The last guy we had in said it would take over $1000! Matt came back on Sunday early afternoon and spent an hour in the dingy crawlspace replacing the connection to the sewer stack. Upon checking his work, he found a second leak we were unaware of, went to get a replacement part and installed that for no extra charge. He ended up spending at least 2.5 hours on the job and didn't ask for anything over his estimate. And even more important, the job was good. We haven't had a single problem since. We will be calling Matt again for any plumbing we need.

We're about to remodel our basement, and having just had a pretty dire assessment of our home's sewer lines, got a few bids for a complete replacement. (apparently, they used cinders as backfill under our foundation, which eats away at cast iron over time - the house was built in 1958). Matt was highly recommended by the drain cleaner I had worked with, and submitted an extremely reasonable bid, considering the scope of work to be done. Matt is an extremely hard worker, and really cares about making his customers happy. I believe he approaches his customer's homes the way he would his own. Though I was briefly a little bit worried that he had bit off a bit more than he could chew; he had a couple other major projects going at about the same time as mine, and I think he was a little bit daunted by replacing the section that runs under the footing of the house, the project was successfully executed. It did end up taking a few days longer than initially projected, mainly due to heavy rains that fell while they were planning to dig a small trench outside to get to the last section of cast iron. I think they could have kept the mess down a little better, and the replacement concrete job was a little sloppy, but at the end of the day I'm happy with the end result and the price I paid.

(member name removed), Thank you for your review. An inside tear out is can be the messiest job a plumber will ever have to do inside a home. We try to keep jobsites as clean as we can, that's why we used canvas drop cloths through out your house where we had to walk, and carry out the refuse and the old concrete we tore out.and swept up the basement floor every day we were finished. There is only so much that can be done on this kind of job. Also this review can be a learning moment for myself, and a teaching moment to all my future customers. If I didn't adequately explain how the concrete patch works I apologize. This is one thing I always try to explain thoroughly. I was driving down Chippewa by Broadway thinking of how I would explain concrete to those reading, and to those future customers I will do this for. and the best way I can think to explain it is through city streets and sidewalks. You can always tell when there is a new section or a "patch", the new piece is always lighter, it isn't aged. it dose not always have square edges on the sides. you can tell it has been broken out and "replaced". I try to make it as level as I can, and match up the edges as best as possible. Patch concrete, will be a little rougher than the original floor. Builders use concrete trucks in which have different amounts of aggregate, than what you new patch it with. The standard I try to stay with is flat/smooth enough that if you carpet over it. you cant tell it was patched by walking on it. I will post a few pictures of concrete "patches" the next time I do one so everyone can see what floors look like when we are finished. Thank you for the opportunity to work for you,and I hope you have a great Memorial Day weekend. Matthew

I called Matt and told him the man measuring for our countertop told us to call a plumber. Over the phone, Matt knew the problem and what needed to be done. I asked, and he did stop over yet that day to confirm everything. He was booked solid, but was willing to do the difficult sewer arm move on the Tuesday night before the countertop install. The countertop install was delayed so we rescheduled. The sewer arm work was done on Thursday, countertops on Friday, and Matt came back on Saturday morning to do the garbage disposal and faucet. Later in the day I noticed a leak and Matt came back that night to fix it. We are planning some remodels in our bathrooms, Matt took a quick look, gave us tips on what to buy - just the fixtures we needed from a plumbing supply store rather than unnecessary parts from the the big box stores. Definitely will be calling Matt to install as he pointed out a few things that need to be done in the bathrooms that I know I can't do.

Matt was very nice, professional and helpful. He determined that the leak was not coming from our unit, but a unit above us. Since they were not home, there was nothing else he could do. He gave me his recommendation and then said HE WOULD NOT CHARGE FOR THE VISIT. Who does that anymore? I cannot recommend Matt and Plumbing Plus enough. Even though our issue persists, I was floored by the service we received. I have already highly recommended Matt to the owners of the upstairs unit. Hopefully this will lead to some good business for him.
Description of Work: We own a first-floor condo in a four-unit building and we noticed that our basement ceiling was leaking. We decided to do an update of our half bath and we wanted to install a wall hung vanity as opposed to one that sits on the floor. The size and positioning of the vanity required that the plumbing be reset. We contacted Matt at Plumbing Plus and he came out to our house to give us an estimate within a day of our call. He gave us an estimate that covered updating the plumbing to make sure it met code and would accommodate the configuration of the new vanity. We also had him check the shut off valves and he agreed they needed to be replaced. We scheduled a time for him to come out and do the work, he arrived on time. He explained what he was going to be doing, frequently asked if we had an questions, and always removed his shoes before entering the house. To work on the plumbing it necessitated tile removal, which we had done before his arrival. Matt gave great suggestions on removing additional tile and adding bracing/additional studs to hold the weight of the new vanity and suggested he not put the shut off valves on but rather cap them until tile was replaced to make it easier to tile. After tile was replaced, and we readied the vanity for hanging we called Matt to come back out to put on the shut off valves and finish the reset of the vanity. We also needed to have the toilet shut off valve replaced because it was dripping after using it while getting our flooring replaced. We called Matt on the weekend, he came out Monday night to look over what he would need to finish the job and he helped us affix the vanity to the wall. He came Tuesday, put the shut off valves on the sink and toilet, finished resetting the sink, and caulked the basin on to vanity top. He made sure there were no leaks. He went over what he had done, asked if we had any questions, and indicated he would come back out if there were any leaks or problems and he would happily correct them.

Matt was very responsive in all steps of the process, from establishing an appointment to provide pricing to scheduling the work. He was very knowledgeable and communicative on the steps he was taking while he was on the job. Matt also worked hard to ensure his work met our needs for the kitchen remodel. Overall Matt is very customer focused and demonstrated that in every action he took. He even gave a discount from his quoted price when he completed the job sooner than he anticipated. We will definitely keep Plumbing Plus in mind for our future plumbing needs!
Description of Work: Relocation of the plumbing for a new sink location as part of a kitchen remodel. The existing sink water supply lines and drain line were capped in the wall in the former location. New rough-in water supply lines and drain line were run up from the basement to the new sink location in preparation for next steps for finishing the drywall and subsequent cabinet installation. The plumbing vent line was already in place prior to the job.

Matt responded within 48 hours of my request for a bid, and scheduled an appointment the next day. He was prompt and outlined the process, indicating that he would take care of permits, dig line approvals from utilities, etc. A quote was provided after his inspection and before he left. He indicated that upon my acceptance, he would perform the work within a week. His bid was the lowest of three that I requested, beating the high bid by $2000. He provided insurance information, and completed the work in one day, returning to clean up the area, provided fill dirt to the tracks, seeded, and placed straw on the area. The work was done by Matt and his employees. When he returned for payment, he brought a copy of the permit with receipt, the inspection card signed by the county inspector, and signed the invoice as paid. All aspects of the experience with Plumbing Plus were positive and as promised. I would and will recommend his company and will use him again if the need arises for plumbing work.
