The work was delayed a day or two because of the weather. The two-man crew arrived about 8:00 AM to begin work. Plywood was placed on the ground to move the backhoe to the work site and they got to work. By noon the work crew had the repair made and told me there was a flaw in the way the original repair job was done. Also another sewer connection was attacked slightly off-center. They installed the new pipe correctly. After halting for lunch, the hole was filled in and grass seed was put down for lawn replacement. Other than the temporary appearance of grass working to grow one would not know there was a problem. I would not hesitate to use this business again if needed or to recommend them to anyone needing this kind of work done.
Description of Work: 15-20 years ago I had sewer blockage. A repairman (name escapes me) came out to remove the blockage and in the process replaced the sewer vent. Earlier this year I noticed the ground seemed to be washing in around the new vent. I was also gettig water leaking nto the basement. I arranged for PLS to come out and look at the problem. He agreed there was a problem below ground. It was so obvious that a camera inspection should not be necessary. In our area the County residents pay a sewer insurance and PLS thought this issue would come under that policy. Ther is a requirement that three bids be obtained.I filled out the application and PLS took it to the County Court House. Once filed other companies place bids on the spot. The next day I was called and was told that PLS obtained the bid and we scheduled for the work to be done.

Dominik came out right away and had to talk with Hazelwood regarding the repair prior to giving me an estimate because unsure if the problem could be resolved by tearing up some of my driveway or if we would have to dig into the street which is concrete and, if so, would the whole slab need to be replaced or only part of it. My estimate came a few days later...I don't think these things happen overnight. As I was virtually unable to use my sewer line (a family would have had to move to a hotel), I was anxious. As it was an emergency and partial payment was likely to be covered under Hazelwood's lateral sewer failure line program I only had to get two bids rather than three and his was the lower of the two bids. After I got approval from Hazelwood for the portion they would cover he had to pull a Hazelwood and county plumbing permit which was all handled by the company. Then there was the rain...so even though he scheduled me as an emergency-and certainly no fault of theirs-from the time I first had the problem to the repair being done was 12 days. From the time of receiving the PLS proposal on May 2nd to the actual fixing of the line was 5 working days so not bad with all the rain. The crew was very nice and Dominik stopped by while the work was being done to check on everything. I think that is often a good sign when the owner make some rounds to see everything is going okay. I had suspected the problem was due to a cable company's subcontractors from burying a cable line under the driveway since I had never had any issues before. This turned out to be the case. The crew suggested I keep the section of damaged sewer line. They came even though it was raining again after two days of having to cancel and dug up one half of my driveway apron down to the sewer line. They fixed the pipe that day and backfilled the drive with gravel. Within a day or two they returned to put down the concrete. My experience with the sewer was not fun, however, my experience with PLS Plumbing & Sewer was good. Dominik always returned my calls and answered my questions. That is it with the sewer line...now to see if the cable company's subcontractors will reimburse me for the portion I had to pay and the city for their portion.
Description of Work: My lateral sewer line failed (which turned out to be under my driveway) about 63' out from the house about a foot into the street and, with luck, only 3.3' down. After having another company come to try and clear it with no success and then having yet another company come out to video tape the problem to verify the blockage, Dominik Anic from PLS Plumbing & Sewer came out to review the situation and give me a proposal.
