Our problem: we have a good-sized house with great storage, but we weren't using any of it well. We had moved into it quickly and haphazardly because we had fulltime jobs and a new baby, and, four years later, the disorganization had fed on itself and multiplied. We needed a change, but we just kept making the mess worse. We didn't know where to start.What Janine did: On her first trip, Janine traveled 2 hours (each way) to my home, toured my house's "problem areas," and came up with a plan for my home organization that I could implement myself or have her team come back and do. I implemented a few ideas in my kitchen and was delighted. On our second meeting, we met at the Container Store in St. Louis, where she did the legwork on designing a garage system with an Elfa designer and then helped me pick out storage solutions for other areas of the home. I took advantage of her 20% Container Store discount. On our third meeting, she again traveled to my home to get us organized with a team of 5 other professional organizers. She hand-picked just the right people for my areas -- including a local person for whom I didn't have to pay travel time. The team spent 8 hours working HARD and successfully transformed my huge basement storage room, home office, master bathroom, coat closet, kitchen desk, and garage. When we realized the Container Store had given us the wrong materials to implement part of the garage plan, Janine negotiated a solution and compensation from the Container Store. She's coming back for a fourth visit with a smaller team to tackle a few other projects, including my piles of paper. I didn't know how organized I could be! Janine and her team accomplished more in one day than my husband and I could have accomplished in one week. I'm beyond thrilled with my results, and we're not even finished yet. It's a pleasure to put things away now because things have a place to go. I look forward to working more with Janine. I truly understand the value of professional organizers now -- it's like going to a doctor for medical treatment or a lawyer for estate planning, but it's a lot more fun. She knows what to do and how to get it done!

I am surprised that mine is Janine's first review on Angie's list and am careful not to limit the scope of her business to the services she provided to us. I describe in detail above the services that Janine provided to us, but note that her business has many facets. If the reader wants to get his/her home on the market quickly and has little time for meetings and research-- I am absolutely confident that Janine can accomplish that. However, my experience with her makes me certain that she can and will address many other situations and needs. She is adaptable, flexible, prompt, careful, and communicative. I am literally stunned at how much she accomplished for us in such a short amount of time. I highly recommend her and hold her in the highest esteem.
Description of Work: Consulted with us, in person, walked through our home and outlined all of our requests. Met with our realtor and outlined his goals. Provided a timeline for satisfying our requests and a deadline for completion of work (which is remarkable because a deadline was her idea-- not ours). Researched and selected vendors like plumbers, roofers, and landscapers, scheduled meetings with said vendors, met with them at our home (in our absence), ascertained that work was done adequately, and arranged for payment. Researched and selected miscellaneous service providers like handymen and movers, arranged to meet them, supervised their work and arranged for payment. Cleaned, organized, moved boxes. Got our ginormous, 150-year-old home with all sorts of historic code restrictions and that looked like a scene from the television show "Hoarders," ready for sale. Did it all in less than two months and accomplished more than my husband and I did in a calendar year. Bravely traveled to our haunted basement on numerous occasions. Responded calmly when I announced that I wanted to host two last-minute parties in her workspace. Coordinated with my little brother who was living at our home in our absence, kept him happy. Did not get offended when I accidentally sent her photos of my twins in the bathtub. Occasionally served as family psychologist. Graciously sat and drank champagne with us while we bemoaned our woes. Saved our sanity. Forgave my egregious use of incomplete sentences.

Nothing short of a revelation!! The chaos surrounding my home-based business had reached epic proportions -- I had no idea of how much product I had on hand; I was fairly drowning in information, records and emails; my personal and professional to-do list had become so overwhelming that even the thought of deciding what to do first made me want to scream. I was at my wits end, losing money and wasting precious time. Janine came in and with an air of calm and good humor and made sense of everything. First she listened, then she asked questions, then we talked and then she came up with a system that worked for ME! and accommodated the specifics of my life, personality and idiosyncrasies. I think what I appreciated the most (aside from our resulting success) was that she treated this as an fun challenge we could address and conquer together. It was actually such a delightful experience I can't believe that it took me so long to find a solution.
