Pat's Tree Service

The takedown of the trees went smoothly. Very reasonable price (~$900) and quick work. They also leveled the tree trunks and did a good job cleaning as they worked. The problem comes after they finish their initial work. Pat and his associate (Kevin Jones) offered a bid to replace the side of the fence where the 2 old trees were initially located. Pat states he will look at lumber prices and give me a bid in the next few days. Kevin Jones then comes by himself to my house and gives me a bid for the fence (~$2200) and starts working on the project. After approximately 90%-95% of the fence is complete, Kevin states he needs extra money to buy additional pickets (I had only paid him for part of the fence, with plans to pay in full when he completed the work). I paid him the balance for the fence and never heard from him again. To my surprise, when I contacted Pat so that the work was completed, he stated Kevin left him out of the deal and worked on the project behind his back. Nonetheless, Pat stated he would get Kevin to finish the job (he did not). Pat also stated he would complete the remainder of the work (he never did, even after MULTIPLE texts and phone calls where he would give me a day of the week that would ALWAYS get postponed for a multitude of excuses). Just to give you a time frame--my trees were taken down in May. The fence project started early June and NEVER got finished. It is now September, and after getting the runaround from both Kevin and Pat, I finally did it myself. It would have been much more in legal fees than to actually do it myself. I went to HD and paid $23.76 for the remaining 12 pickets missing on the fence and finished the work in less than 30 min.

The price was unbeatable, and he did a good job with everything. Overall, I pleased with the service. I truly recommend him as a low-cost alternative to some of the more pricey providers.
