I have purchased here before and all dealings have been fully satisfactory. I have never had a problem with any of my purchases and find their sales personnel sufficiently helpful to warrant paying sales tax and occasionally a slightly greater price than that from an internet vendor for the convenience of near instant gratification and advice from sales personnel.

Clerk was very helpful, just needed the Dell model number and was able to find the right memory quickly. This is my go to place for misc computer items, we bought a used netbook from them and have been very happy with it.

On price for example, I wanted to upgrade computer memory in my desktop, and found 1GB SIMM cards there for $26, when they were $35 online! Most impressive is their Help Desk, where they will perform preliminary diagnostic checks free, even on equipment not purchased there. They also are a great place to find miscellaneous components like adapters and connecters. For example, I lost a cell phone charger that connected to the phone via a micro-USB connector. Rather than have to buy a whole new charger, at Microcenter I found an "mini-to-micro" adapter that let me use a different charger I had. The adapter was $10, while a new charger was $24. The only caveat I have is that especially on small parts you often can do better shopping on Amazon, but even then don't forget to factor-in shipping cost and delay. When you need it fast and/or local, give Mirocenter a try. I have no affiliation to the place at all I just like them.

I purchased my first home computer at Micro Center April 2011. Since this was my first home computer (have one at work, but dynamics of work laptop different than home laptop), had alot of questions. I wanted quality at lowest price (bare bones with no added software. Just wanted to browse for now). And that's what I got (no pushing more expensive models or software). Micro Center also did everything needed to 'ready' my computer for home use. The sales person also stated Micro Center would answer all questions on use and problems(i.e. viruses, additional software etc etc) anytime after sale also. I would have to come to store for this service. Over the next several months, I had several questions and Micro Center answered all. I arrived at Micro Center on a weekday in the morning so almost no wait at service desk. I was very happy with their service and help. I also have (web and telphone) backup from my wireless provider, my laptop manufacturer, my antivirus/spyware provider and from the pc software company. For me, going to Micro Center for answers was much easier than dealing with all my other backups. Bottom line: I purchased a good product at a good price and get great advice from Micro Center after the purchase.
