Michael's Work

I wasn't very happy. I asked him to do specific things like letting me know if the gutters were full of leaves but he wouldn't tell me. I'm not sure if he even came.

They showed up on time and did the work as promised.

See above. No services were provided. Out of service area. Your rating system should allow me to use "N/A" if services were not provided and it was not the fault of the provider. I was out of the service area and thus could not receive the services.

THEY LEFT TO BUY PARTS AND WATER DRIPPED THROUGH THE BASEMENT DRYWALL (NOTICED AFTER WORK WAS DONE). THEY ONLY PUT ONE COAT OF PAINT ON THE FRONT PORCH POSTS AND DIDN'T FINISH CARPENTRY WORK. THEY SAID THEY'D BE BACK TO FINISH PAINTING THE WINDOW FRAME AND AT THAT TIME I WOULD HAVE ASKED THEM TO FINISH PAINTING AND FINISH DETAIL WORK ON THE POSTS. I ASKED HIM TO COME BACK TO GIVE AN ESTIMATE ON OTHER WOODWORK AND HE NEVER CAME BACK. HIS WORKER ASKED ME TO COMPLETE A SATISFACTORY REPORT TO ANGIE'S LIST AND I SAID I WOULD WOULD AFTER THE WORK WAS DONE.

One of the technicians was more capable than the other. Overall the work was good.

They did the work and were on time and efficient. They were also very nice to work with. They did do exactly what i needed done and was very inexpensive.

Michael and a helper arrived at the scheduled time and performed the work very quickly and efficiently. Michael is very personable and professional - so much so that when he suggested that I install gutter guard and estimated price for me I agreed. Michael returned the very next day to install the gutter guard. Again, his work was quick and efficient and his pricing was great. I would most definitely use Michael's services again and would recommend him to others.

There were several attempts to schedule the service. One day I came home and I found a hand written note telling me they were here to clean the gutters but they never called to tell me they were coming out. I still have the exact same issue of an over pour from my gutter which makes me think nothing was done or a very limited amount of work was done. I tried to reach them afterwards to speak about the issue, he indicated in one email that they would come back out which never happened.

It was fine. They did the work while I wasn't home. He was a real gentleman and the price was fair.

I emailed them to come out. Gave me excellent price and had them get on it rite away. Excellent job.

After repeated attempts to schedule an appointment, his number was eventually disconnected

He did a okay job, I was satisfied but then again I wasn't. I would more than likely use him again but not for such a large project. He didn't have the correct staff it was never the same guy everyday, I think the project was too big for him. I am trying to sale the house so the work served it's purpose but he would not be my first choice painter in the future.

Contractor did not perform service. They did not respond to emails or calls. Angie's List did the very least they could do by refunding my contract amount. There were no other options given unless I wanted to use a different contractor at a greater cost. Really felt that Angie's List did not properly screen the contractor, since this occurred before the original offer was even expired. Angie's List should guarantee the service at the offered price. They should only offer deals to contractors with proven track records and not only be interested in making deals for the sake of revenue. If that is all we want we can use a Groupon. Very disappointed!

Did not use this service due to several negative reviews from residents who had purchesed this same gutter cleaning deal. Rather than risk having gutters that were not cleaned properly, or that didn't function properly after cleaning, I chose to clean my own gutters instead.

I was having the interior of my house completely redone and suddenly the painter (different company) didn't want to bother with the ornate balusters on the main staircase. He said the handcarved cutouts made the job too complicated and cost prohibitive and I should just leave them painted the color they were. A few months earlier, I had purchased an eight hour "Big Deal" package from Michael's Work through Angie's List, so I gave them a call. Michael came right over to check out the job and brought his worker, Joe. I asked Joe if he thought he could get very many of the staircase spindles finished in eight hours and he said, "No problem. What do you want me to do when I finish the stairs?" Joe proceeded to do an excellent job on the spindles and then tackled the French doors, which contained multiple 100-year old panes of leaded glass. (Another project my painter had refused.) Joe's painting was perfect and quick; both Joe and Michael were professional, courteous and very pleasant to deal with. The prep work and cleanup were both A+. Bottom line, I wish I had hired Michael's Work to paint my whole house, top to bottom. Next time I will! (NOTE TO EDITOR: I submitted this review through a link that came to my email, but since I do not see it registered in "My Reviews," I am duplicating it. I want to make sure Michael's Work receives full credit for their excellent efforts.) NOTE TO EDITOR: THIS BELONGS IN THE CATEGORY OF PAINTING, NOT GUTTER CLEANING!!!! I CAN'T FIND THE PLACE TO CHANGE THE CATEGORY!!!!!

It turned out just great. Scheduling was good and they called right back. You couldn’t beat the price.

I purchased the voucher in November 2013 and contacted the service provider at least five times between November 2013 and February 2014. They repeatedly stated that someone would come to our home and clean the gutters. No one ever did. I would just like a refund at this point.

Did not hire this contractor

After some initial issues with making contact and scheduling the appointment, the work done was fine. I think as long as you ask a lot of questions and state your tasks clearly, these guys will do a good job. Just don't assume that details are understood and it's fine.

The workers showed up a little late to paint our deck, but once they arrived they worked really hard. They were able to put several coats of paint on the deck and we have a two tiered large deck. Overall I was very pleased with the work. They power washed before they started also!

Michael Hulsey likes to say "We are gonna get you taken care of." And he really does get you taken care of! He has done two jobs for us now, and always been very flexible with our schedule, has given us a fair price, has made sure the job was done right, even if it took longer than it seemed like it would. He pays a lot of attention to detail and makes sure it is exactly right. I would recommend Michael's Work to anyone looking for painting work.

After not getting this scheduled due to so e weather issues, I kept in touch with the company , and thought there were plenty of good weather days when this job could've been done. My last contact with owner on4/2/14, asking him if work was ever done was answered with reply of he would check with his guys to see if had been done. When I got up on a ladder to see how the gutters looked, it was obvious the work was never done.

The job completed on 2/22 was unsatisfactory. Our gutters in the back of the house were not cleaned to our satisfaction. I notified Michael's work on2/24. He replied that he would send someone out to complete the job. It has been 3 months and they haven't been here yet. It has been 6 months since I purchased this offer. I was trying to give them the benefit of the doubt and every opportunity to fix their issues, but they have stopped communicating with me altogether.

Two painters worked for 8 hours to paint a bedroom. They were very polite and accommodating. The job was performed to my satisfaction, and they were respectful of my home, cleaning up carefully when the job was completed.

I work nights--the service was performed while I was sleeping. The service providers did not follow up with a phone call or email and since my gutters are set up high I really had no idea if they were cleaned or not. Since I can only assume the work was completed I grade this serve 'B' overall.
