Description of Work: I moved from St. Louis MO to Ooltewah TN. Josh, of McGuire Moving came first to give me an estimate. He was on time for this, looked at everything I needed to have moved and gave me an estimate after a couple of days. The day of the actual move, the driver and his helper did not arrive on time. When I phoned, I was told that they were stuck 'in traffic' and to give them more time. They finally arrived 40 minutes late. However, once they were there, they got right to work. I had packed everything, so they basically loaded my boxes and put my mattress and box spring into boxes and wrapped up one of the chairs. They were extremely careful with everything and they laid down a rubber mat so they could roll their dollies on it and not on the wood floor or the carpet. As for the unloading in TN, once again, they were late to arrive. I had made arrangements (because I didn't think I would be able to arrive on time) to have a family member at the house I was moving into. She kept calling me to tell me that they had not arrived yet. In fact, I arrived at the house before they did. When I phoned to find out where they were, once again the office told me that they were 'stuck in traffic' to which I told them that excuse was getting old. They finally arrived an hour late, but again, once there, they got right to work. It didn't take them long at all to get everything into the house. Again, they taped together cardboard and had the rubber mat to roll their dollies over. They took the shrink wrap off everything. They were patient when I had them move some of the boxes to a new location. Both Tyler and Prentiss showed great care for all of my possessions and for my house. And after I had unpacked, I realized that nothing was broken. In moves before, I'd always had broken items, but not this time. Josh called a couple days later to check in and see how the move went. I told him how unhappy I was about his movers' lateness at both ends and he understood that. I also praised the job that they did and the care they took and the professionalism they showed once they arrived at my locations. I was also impressed that the price Josh gave me in the estimate was their final price to me. How refreshing to work with an honest moving company. They are a rare thing. I would use this company again.

Description of Work: I've moved many times in my career, and this was by far the best ever. The estimate was correct, the movers on time, nothing broken or scratched, no "day laborers" but experienced men who had been with the company for many years. This is what moving SHOULD be like but rarely is.

Description of Work: This is without question the best moving company in the St. Louis area. (And I have used other companies.) Professional, courteous, conscientious, and friendly. To top it all off, the actual cost came in UNDER the estimate. There were four men and two trucks needed to move me from one state to another. Not one thing was broken or lost. The men could not have been nicer. I will definitely use them again for any future moves and will recommend them to my friends without reservation. Great company!

Description of Work: I hired McGuire to move from one house to another, plus a few days before my move I purchased some furniture from an individual so I arranged for McGuire to stop there first and then continue to my house as originally scheduled. They were very accommodating, actually showed up a little bit before scheduled. Everything was moved without damage and in a timely manner.

Description of Work: McGuire Moving did a great job with an in-town move into a three-story home. We were advised before-hand that the size of our move would feel more comfortable if we did it over two days, and I think that was true. The movers were courteous, patient, and quick, even over the two days, and nothing was broken or damaged.
