Description of Work: Poor wireless service based in my amateur attempt at setting up. These guys recommended a solution that improved the poor reliability of my home wireless signal.

Due to high sales volume over the tax holiday, the computer had to be back-ordered. It was ordered on Sat. 8/2 and came in on Mon. 8/11. I took in my old computer for the data transfer the same day. I was called for pickup on Wed. 8/13. Since I'm brand-new to Macs, a staff member fired it up to show me how to log in to everything. Unfortunately, although there was an icon labeled and quot;Transferred from PCand quot; on the desktop, none of its info could be accessed. So, back to tech services--I need access to my address book and other stuff. I got another call for pick-up on Fri. 8/15. This time I could access my address book, but nothing else. REALLY?? Back to tech services again. On Tues. 8/19 I called to check on its progress and was told I had picked it up last Fri. Um, NO. So I was plugged into techie Sam's voice mail, and explained the problem as best I could. To his credit, Sam called me back the next day and said he wasn't sure if he could convert old emails and other files, but my computer was at the head of his list. He managed to convert most stuff, though I think I've lost a few files, but I finally took delivery of the computer the evening of Thurs. 8/21. Once I got it home, I had trouble getting my printer to work. After multiple online inquiries to Apple and Brother didn't help, I lugged the computer and eventually the printer down to MacHQ, where they found the problem to be a bad USB cable. Everyone at MacHQ was very friendly and did their best to be helpful. I wouldn't recommend them for anyone transferring from PC to MAC because they don't have the PC knowledge, but now that I've made the transition, I will go back.
Description of Work: I traded in my elderly HP laptop for a MacBook Air, my first ever Mac. I bought during the annual tax holiday weekend, saving both state tax and, due to store's location, city tax. (Not all cities participate in tax holiday.) MacHQ's on-line ad touted the city tax rebate, and also said $100 credit for trade-in. When I requested the trade-in credit, the salesman told me that offer was only for other Mac trade-ins. But the ad did NOT specify that, and when the salesman couldn't reach his manager, he gave me the discount. I agreed to pay an additional $50 for data transfer.

From start to finish they were professional. It was a bit busy when I arrived with the macbook, so there was a bit of a wait. But once I got to the counter they listened to my description of the problem. They took the computer for an estimate and a day or two later called me with the verdict. I went in and was able to talk to the tech who had worked on the machine. That was helpful. I ended up later trading in the laptop for a mac mini in the lease program.
Description of Work: MacHeadquarters replaced a dead hard drive on a macbook. I've also used their lease program and it seems to be a pretty good deal. You get a new mac every two years.

one and Use DSL from ATT, and had to replace the modem. Use Apple Airport Extreme for the router. Could not do install myself, so contacted ATT IT and paid them to assist me. They told me the brand new modem I bought was broken, and needed replacement. I got the DSL modem to work, then contacted MacHQ to take care of the Airport Extreme install. Talked by phone and explained what had already transpired, and answered a few questions. It was decided that on-site install would be preferred to over-the-phone or bringing the hardware to them. Tech. showed up punctually at pre-arranged time. Went to work. Sorted out a very complicated IT problem, and got it fixed. Grateful for their invaluable assistance.
Description of Work: MacHQ performed the install of Airport Extreme for a new Negear 7550 modem. This was done after inability for me to install, and after consulting ATT IT for install assistance.

Monty had come early and was waiting for me when I got home. There were some very technical configuration problems and it took him a while to figure out what they were, but he figured it out, fixed the problems, strengthened the security of my network and updated my pronter drivers. The upshot was that not only he fixed the problem, but he got the printer, mac and network working smoother and quicker than in previous networks I had. I had tried to do it myself, and had tried to seek cheaper help, but had no luck either way. When I saw what he had to go through to figure things out, I was so glad i had decided to pay for the help and I decided it was totally worth it! Monty was friendly and professional, got the job done and more! I'd use them and recommend them.
Description of Work: I set up a new wireless network and I had a problem getting my airport to join my network so I could print wirelessly.

It was still under warranty. They were very helpful and tried to get back as soon as possible. They had a problem with the parts not coming in and they kept me posted. They did an excellent service. I have used them for at least 15 years.
Description of Work: I had an iMac and I just got it serviced through Mac headquarters.
