Overall, we're very pleased with the job M & P did for us. Erosion was a problem near the foundation on one end of the house. My husband called the company and an estimator was sent out. He submitted a bid which seemed high, but we decided that if a few tweaks could be made to the work proposal, we'd go with it rather than go to the trouble of gathering more bids. In an effort to talk over contract changes and confirm acceptance, my husband left several voice messages with Doug and, finally, with Mike at the company number. No one called back after 3 or 4 attempts. M & P ALMOST LOST THE CONTRACT OVER THAT. In our opinion, that kind of inattention is unforgiveable in business. Fortunately for both parties, our last-ditch call was ultimately returned and the deal was made. The crew showed up on the appointed day. They started digging around 8:30 and were finished in just two hours They had created a perfectly symmetrical gravel bed that looked as if it has always been there. The area was so tidy when they left, there was no evidence that any construction had even taken place. We think the price of the project was higher than most companies would have charged, given that it was just two hours of labor and the materials were less that 10% the cost of the project. But having the job finished to our complete satisfaction makes the cost more justifiable and worth it to us. Best of all, the remnants of Hurricane Gordon just moved through today, and the project performed exactly as it was meant to. There is no mud puddle at the bottom of the slope like there would have been before M & P did their magic.

They do a great job. We use them every week.They are here every week.

We have been M & P customers for three years, for lawn fertilization and landscape maintenance. Two months ago they completed a major project for us, replacing older overgrown shrubs, adding new landscaping, and installing underground PVC pipe to drain away water from two gutter downspouts. Doug, the General Manager, was very helpful with plant selection, layout ideas, and planning the work to be done. The M & P workers, as always, did an excellent job. They are professional, pay attention to details and cleanup after the work is done. We plan to continue using M & P for future landscape projects and maintenance.

We've been using MandP for 3 years. The first year, they were great. The second year, they got sloppier with the mowing (missed patches of grass, minor damage to some structures in the yard, etc) Now, this year, I think we are going to find another service, as their service has deteriorated even further. This year, they started mowing before our lawn even came in, even though I left them a message not to begin our mowing season quite yet. Then they came again 10 days later. (I do recall from last year that they come by and mow whether the lawn needs it or not, which we did not like at all.) On this most recent visit, they did (minor) damage to the lawn. We tried to call to a) ask them not to come by for awhile and b) to repair what they had damaged. The office never actually answers their phones- which means if you aren't there when they call back (it took 3 days in our case) you never get to talk to a manager. I think we are done with this provider and on the market for a more reliable and more responsive one.

This past year had problems with them cutting the grass too short. I lost a lot of the brand new grass that I paid them for the previous year. They were aware of the problem but couldn't seem to get it fixed. Mysterious overcharges kept showing up on my bills-I was charged an additional amount each cut that couldn't be adequately explained to me and I was charged for cuts that didn't happen. Yesterday I came home to find a note that they put fertilizer down on my yard. On January 23. When I called I was told it was my December fertilizer application. That's enough for me-I cancelled services. If you want your yard maintained properly at a fair price then this is not the company for you.

I recently moved into a new home and when I called M&P for an estimate to clear up all the overgrown weeds, and other work they pointed out I had poison ivy. I've never had to deal with yard work before and didn't even know what poison ivy looked like. Needless to a few days later I received a letter from the city stating I had been reported for overgrown weeds AND poison ivy and was ordered to clean it up right away. My yard has looks so much worse than when this company came out so if it was a neighbor I am sure they would have reported me long before. This was my first summer in the house and obviously I wanted to the job done, but was not capable myself. Apparently this company didn't want the job. I also did not receive the estimate from them until 1 day after the city deadline to remove everything was up. I have a large yard and understood there was A LOT of work to be done. The guy keep repeating over and over "we will need many trucks to haul off the debris". I should have known right then that he wasn't interested. So, I don't recommend this company. Why be in the landscape business if you don't want to accept a job.

They were efficient and they came when they were supposed to. They worked really hard and in fact I feel bad because the guy who did my patio worked in really cold weather. They are always happy and pleasant. They have been very good to me.

I paid them for the lawn and then separately, I paid them for other services. They did a good job and they had good personal service. The manager would come over, take care of everything, and make sure that everything was done. My interaction with them was good and the lawn looked good when they were done.

Staff was very professional, great work.

They mow the lawn on a weekly basis. My concern with the fall is the letter received stating they would skip our yard if there were leaves. The leaves would have to be removed at an additional cost. I have never had a company not mulch the leaves into the grass on each weekly visit. Not a fan.

We began using them in September 2009 when they installed new sod in our front and side yards. We were very satisfied with that service and have continued to use them ever since. Five or six times a year they apply fertilizer and/or weed killers. Our lawn is one of the best looking in the neighborhood.

They do a very good job, they clean up after themselves and are dependable. I did at one point ask for some landscaping services and no one got back to me. Otherwise, I have been extremely pleased with their services and hope to use them again.

It was very expensive, they would always try and get there before the customers got there.

Excellent job. The work crew were very helpful and informative. They exceeded our expectations!

First off, I had been trying to hire someone to aerate our lawn for several weeks. After the other companies failed to return numerous calls M&P came through. M&P responded quickly to my initial call. They came out quickly to give me an estimate. Once I decided to hire them they scheduled the aeration. Everyone I worked with was helpful. The crew that actually did the aeration carefully marked for our invisible fence before they started working. They also did a great job with the aeration and cleaned up any mess that was made.

I was and continue to be most satisfied with the service. I plan to request autumn clean up and shoving snow in the winter. Doris Straley

Took almost 2 full days, but we are very satisfied. They did a great job!

All work was performed as expected in a timely manner. However, the actual final invoice was significantly greater than the estimate.

I debated writing this review, because I?m not a spiteful person, but I don?t have much of anything good to say about what little experience I?ve had with this company. Since Angie?s List keeps requesting me to submit a review, here is what happened. We researched on Angie?s List and requested three estimates from three different companies. All three companies were very responsive and came out within a few days to give us the estimate. M&P had the lowest rating of the three, and I noticed that several people mentioned how expensive they were. So I was surprised when their estimate for stripping, grading and sodding our front yard came back at $455, approximately $200 less than the other two. I emailed them to clarify the estimate, but never received a response. I called them on Tuesday, April 30, and asked to have them go ahead with the work. I was told they would call me back to schedule a date. Seven days went by with no call, and I finally called to follow up and ended up having to leave a message. A few hours later, the office administrator called to tell me that they sent me an email earlier in the day, and that the estimate was off by ?about $2,000?, and that they would re-work the estimate and re-send it to me. I told them not to bother. I then checked my email, which said, ?B got your message about going ahead with your estimate but as soon as he looked at it, he knew that something was wrong. He went by your place this morning and he thinks he left a 2 off the price as in $2455. He will re-do the estimate and re-send to you. Sorry if it caused any inconvenience.? Yes, it caused an inconvenience. I lost a week on the project and the price was outrageous, more than three times what the other two companies quoted. Without even seeing the work they do, I would not recommend this company to anyone.

The backyard had become overgrown but looks great now. Hard working crew that new exactly what to do.

They are not cheap, but they do very good work. We really like Doug; he gets us. We know that when he comes out he will understand what we need and he will make sure that is what happens.

I have used M&P for lawn cutting for several years. They do very good work. Their crew is always hard working and dedicated. Their price for weekly lawn cutting service is reasonable and in line with other companies. However their price is excessive, in my opinion, for other landscaping services, such as leaf removal, aeration, overseeding, and so forth. Be sure to get an estimate in writing for any of these other services that clearly spells out the extent of the work to be done, to avoid misunderstandings.

I called Brad (the President) earlier last week and he came to my house within a few days to give me a proposal. He was very professional and knowledgeable. I was very impressed with his ability to comprehend exactly what I wanted even with my poor description (I am challenged in the landscaping area). We originally scheduled the work for the following Saturday. Due to rain, we moved the date to the following Tuesday, April 17, 2012. Brad and his crew showed up that morning and went over the layout of plants for our patio and an existing hosta bed. He had a great design in mind already so it was easy to agree on the layout and the crew got started immediately. They worked very hard all day and even cleaned up weeds and leaves and added mulch to a few extra beds that we didn't even ask them to. All of the work was finished in one day and we could not have been happier with the outcome. IT IS BEAUTIFUL! I highly recommend M&P Landscaping, you will not be disappointed.
