Description of Work: He has fixed our siding, he has painted. I have never seen anyone put in a ceiling fan faster than he. Our neighbor uses him and so does our son in law same area code. He has fixed leaks, put in electric boxes. etc etc. He is the best. He is fast and honest. He has been around us for 5 years at least by now. You want good get him. He does great work.

+ -1 moreFirst, Bob stopped by with an estimate at the agreed upon time. Then, within a few days we scheduled the work. He arrived on time and started right away. He worked with the back porch ceiling fan light first. This very old fixture was ancient however Bob took the time to disassemble and installed the new ceiling fan. He is very meticulous at his job. Then, he worked with installing track lighting in the dining room area. The track lighting is beautiful too. Lastly, he worked with replacing the back porch light located outside. He had to use an extension ladder to reach the light. He completed all jobs within about couple hours. Bob was very personable and professional. He remained focused with the jobs. He is skilled at his job. Bob did a terrific job! Great job! We will hire Bob again in the future.
Description of Work: Bob changed dining room light to track lighting; removed very old ceiling fan and replaced with new ceilgin fan; changed back porch light with new one.

+ 3 moreBob has done work for us for years - always punctual, friendly and fair in his pricing. I usually have a whole day's worth of small jobs and he never complains. He arrived on time, measured and figured out what he would need, went and picked up the lumber and supplies, came back and got to work. When I got home, the porch was completed and there was no evidence he had been there. He cleans up extremely well after each job.
Description of Work: Replaced rotted boards on back porch. Adjusted the motion sensor light over the garage door.

+ -1 moreI left a message on Bob's phone for an estimate. He responded within hours. We discussed in detail over the phone the repairs I was needing. He gave me a verbal estimate on the phone and scheduled an appointment to see the work and schedule the job date. He was able to visit my home the next week and after seeing the job, he confirmed the amount discussed over the phone. He got to work the next day, and even fit in the installation of a garbage disposal that broke the night before he arrived. He did a fabulous job! I had an invoice in the mail the following Monday, which was right on target and budget as agreed. I will definately use Bob Goodman of Lighthouse Handyman in the future.
Description of Work: Installed curtain rod over patio door, adjusted gas fireplace, repaired water damage ceiling stains, installed garbage disposal, painted kitchen backplash, repaired weather stip on garage door, installed three bathroom towel racks, installed a ceiling fan, installed new toilet cover, repaired bathroom exhaust fan.

+ -1 moreBob was a few minutes late, but since there was a traffic event I didn't hold that against him. He communicated with me by email and by phone prior to the install. He removed an old over range Microwave oven and installed a new one for me. He ran into a bit of trouble with the removal, but quickly solved the problem and got the new one up and running pretty quickly. He was done within the hour and things have worked perfectly ever since. I asked him some questions about my sink's lack of pressure and the icemaker in my fridge that doesn't work. He recommended some things and suggested I call him back when I was ready to deal with them. I am finding a new fixture and working on finding an ice maker. I'll call him back when I am ready for hiim to install them. He does excellent work, and I will have him back to do more. Count on it.
Description of Work: Remove over-range microwave oven and hood. Install new one.

Description of Work: I have four ceiling fans with lights that had not worked correctly for several years - for various reasons. Bob came over the first time and was able to repair two of them and check out the other two within an hour. He discovered that the other two required a remote receiver, so I agreed to purchase them and he returned the following week. These repairs took two hours. The cost listed above does not include the purchase of the universal receivers.

+ 5 moreI had used the Lighthouse Handyman before on another rental property and was so impressed with the quality of work, that it was a no-brainer to use him again. Bob Goodman can do it all from carpentry, electrical work, plumbing, yard work, and almost everything else.. There were no problems encountered and all the work was done in about 10 days. I will most certainly use Bob again if the need arises.
Description of Work: The Lighthouse Handyman, Bob Goodman, performed the following services in a rental property that I purchased in May, 2012: removed loose and stained grout in kitchen and replaced with new grout; replaced light fixtures in the kitchen, hall and outside the front door; removed awnings on rear of house; cleaned awnings on the front; installed a new mailbox; removed old sink in basement and replaced water valves for washing machine hook-up; installed flourescent light fixture over laundry area; replaced all interior door handsets and hinges; trimmed doors as needed; replaced screening on rear screen door; installed under cabinet lighting on kitchen cabinets; installed new kitchen faucets; wired and installed new garbage disposal; installed new light fixture in bathroom; renewed caulk around tub in hall bathroom; installed new dryer vent; installed new door bell; installed a new side entry door to the garage; installed new glass-tile backsplash in kitchen; installed new blinds and Roman shades in kitchen, living room, and all bedrooms; and replaced door closer on front entry door.

+ 3 moreHe was excellent. I haven't had this great of service in 40 years. I can't say enough about his services. I appreciated everything he did. He was immaculate with his services. His manner was polite and very courteous.
Description of Work: I had little odds and ends that needed to be fixed. He took apart my yard light, cleaned it, and put it back together. He installed a new front door handle and lock. Also, cleaned my gutters, fixed doors that were off hinges, fixed a removable door, cut ut PVC piping and installed hose racks in my foundation. Finally he cleaning some of the siding on my home. He did all this work in 4 hours.

Description of Work: Bob removed the grout from out bathroom tile floor and removed two cracked 12" tiles. We did not have any spare tiles so Bob found very similar tiles and installed them, then he re-grouted the floor. Bob recommended we seal the grout ourselves.

Description of Work: My old garage door opener was not working. I spoke with Bob beforehand that I did not know if it was the opener itself, or the garage door. We agreed I would purchase and have on hand a new garage door opener. If it was not needed, I could always return it. Bob showed up right on time. We went over the work, which included patching up a hole to my attic. At the last minute I asked him if he did electrical work and he said it depended on what it was. I showed him 3 electrical outlets in my house that were 2-prong and I wanted 3-prong (they had originally been that). When I returned home in the evening I had a beautiful new garage door opener that worked, no hole in my attic, and 3 new 3-prong outlets. I was thrilled!

Description of Work: Did troulble shooting on a light fixture and an electric fireplace. The light fixture required investigative work on his own time due to the unique nature of the fixture but he was able to get it fixed. I've used Bob before and have recommended him to other family members since he's very professional, polite and efficient. His work is immaculate.
