!!!!!!!!!! DONT SUPPORT THIS BUSINESS OR YOU'LL BE NEXT. !!!!!!!!!!!! Look at their reviews. It is appalling seeing that they take your money but when things go wrong (every business has supply/installation/brand reliability issues) the owners response is "out of our hands" even when properly informed. So disheartening to see a small business not have a neighborhood feel when it comes to the customer experience. I have 20+ years of retail experience and I would never treat a customer of mine like this. The owner makes promises he doesn't intend to keep, sends installation techs out to break homeowners working plumbing, and when he has the chance to do the right thing.... He hangs up on customers, denies accountability, and deflects ownership. You'd be better off shopping via manufacturer direct or with someone like Costco who stands behind their sales. Save yourself the headache, money, and stress. Go somewhere else.
Description of Work: Traveling back in time to go anywhere else. Place is a horrible example of what customer service is in real time.

****STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE****I purchased a wall oven/microwave combo unit in March of this year. Lemcke completed the transaction over the phone and advised that I would hear from their installer in a few days. I was contacted by the installer and an installation date was set. The unit was installed, however, there was an opening in the drywall at the bottom due to a size difference between my old unit and the new one. I paid the installer and he ordered a trim piece that was to be mailed directly to me to cover up the hole; I paid him for both the installation and the trim piece. Since installation, the microwave has not been heating properly and has been making a loud rattling. Lemcke eventually scheduled GE to come out (I had to call twice to get this done after being told the first time it was handled and then found out it wasn't actually scheduled). GE said there is nothing wrong and the installer would need to address the rattle. Now, 2 months after install, I still don't have a trim piece, my microwave still doesn’t heat properly, and it also still rattles. I have called the store numerous times asking to speak to Mark (not sure if he’s the owner or manager) but each time he is not available, and I never hear back from him. Every time I call, I’m told they will follow up with Ed (the installer) regarding the trim piece and they will get back to me. To date, I’ve never once been called with an update. This morning, I called and left a message for Mark and after not hearing back from him for about 5 hours, I called again and spoke to John. John couldn’t have been any less helpful. He told me that Mark wouldn’t be back until 4pm. I (again) explained the situation. Instead of offering to call Ed, John offered me Ed’s number and said I could call him directly. I explained to John that Ed was the installer they chose to install my oven and I would like them to follow up with Ed regarding the rattle and the trim piece. John said he would do so but also asked that I call Ed. I again declined and explained that I would like them to resolve this issue as Ed is their representative. John informed me that Ed is a contractor for them. I explained that I did not choose Ed and was not offered any options regarding installers. Every single attempt to get this resolved directly with the business has failed. I am entirely dissatisfied with the unit and with the customer service, or lack thereof, that has been provided to date. UPDATE: Still no call from Mark. I did receive a call from Ed a couple days after posting this review. I was told that Ed would be out in a couple days to install the trim piece on my stove. That was about a week ago. No updates since then. I have asked several time as to what Lemcke’s return policy is and I STILL have not been provided an answer to this question. I filed a BBB complaint but this also has not been responded to. Par for the course. I can’t strongly enough recommend avoiding this place. 6/7 Update: Ed came out today to install the trim piece on my oven and try to determine the source of the oven/microwave rattling. Ed confirmed there is something wrong with the oven and it has nothing to do with a cord rattling behind the wall as I was told by GE. Ed called Mark (believe it or not, we were able to get a hold of Mark) and explained the situation. Mark said he would send GE out. Again. I explained to Mark that GE has already been out, said there is nothing wrong and couldn't fix the rattle. I told Mark that I want a full refund and I don't want GE out again. He said the return policy allows 10 days for full returns. I explained that I have asked this question about 6 times and this is the first time I have gotten an answer. I explained that I have been trying to get this issue resolved for 3-4 months and I made him aware of the issue within 10 days of the installation. Mark would not acknowledge that I have attempted to reach him repeatedly without success. He said that if I would like a full return, there would be a 20% fee.

I am so happy with Lemcke Appliances in Webster Groves! This morning I discovered my chest freezer was not working. I decided to shop local. At Lemcke's I got a great price on the exact replacement size I needed. Fast forward a couple hours and the new one is in the basement and running like a champ, while the old one was taken away. I have no hesitation in recommending Lemcke's and I know where I'll be shopping in the future. Such nice folks, too!

Description of Work: I bought a dishwasher. On the first delivery date, he did not come. On the second delivery date, he delivered the wrong dishwasher and tried to persuade me that it was the right one. I had spent a lot of time choosing a dishwasher, so I knew what I had ordered and how it was different from what he delivered. I told him that I would wait for the dishwasher I ordered. On the third delivery date, he delivered the correct dishwasher, and he did a good job installing it. I paid him in full, and a few days later Lemcke billed me, as if I had not paid yet. I phoned them, told them that I had already paid, and they backed off.

He was very much knowledgeable and professional. They were certified in sub-zero refrigerators which is the brand we had. They're two blocks away from our house, so it's very convenient. I would use them again.
Description of Work: We have used Lemcke TV & Appliances. We had a person come out to check our appliances in our house since we bought in an old house. We had an issue with our fridge where it wasn't cooling thoroughly. We had him just check into all that. While he was there, he also looked at our dishwasher, our range and our ovens just to make sure that they were fully functioning and had been installed correctly.

After shopping the "big box stores" and familiar advertisers who did not have good answers to specific questions and were most interested in pressuring the current promotion we searched for a locally owned store with a personal, professional and prompt service model. Lemcke is all of those. They worked with our unique circumstance and were very patient with all of our questions. After all of that their prices were better than everyone else. When it was all said and done; delivery, installation and everything they had the best price. We had one minor problem and they fixed it immediately. We definitely recommend Lemcke, compare the total cost and consider the service before you buy.

I have found that they have repeatedly given me the best prices over the last 20 years. They are honest individuals. You contract with them and you get your stuff. They are as on time as they can be. When I purchased my dishwasher, it was out of stock so they upgraded my dishwasher since they couldn't get the original one to me in a timely manner.

When deciding to purchase a washer and dryer from Lemcke the salesman made a big deal of the hidden charges at the big box stores and claimed that all costs were up front at their store and there would be no hidden fees. We paid for the washer, dryer, delivery and installation at the time of purchase and thought the purchase was complete. The delivery was punctual and setup was fast and efficient but the installation crew did not pick up their mess and charged an additional $25 for 2 dryer vent clamps and 7 ft of vent tube which the salesperson indicated at the time of sale was included. We called the store immediately after the installation to question this and were told these were normal charges. We will not be going back to Lemcke for any further purchases and our desire to support a local business was not rewarded and we will reconsider this type of purchase in the future.

Their prices are usually competitive and lower than many other places for the same item. Their services to come out and install are excellent. Their service people were just as excellent as I could ask for. They were very accomplished and didn't make a mess of the house. They knew what they were doing and did it in an expedited manner without doing any damage to the house. They had to take a door down in order to get the washer and drier in and out and they took it off and reinstalled it very nicely and left the house just the way they found it. They did it in an expeditious manner and I just have to give them top marks. The service cost was part of the appliance purchase but we paid the installers some money as a tip.

Description of Work: Sold & installed Jenn Air stove which has being discontinued. Installation was long & drawn out. Lemke provided installer but did not want to get involved. I stated I came to that store for added value & was not getting that service. He promptly said I came in to buy that stove in particular not because of his deputation. Actually I had gone in to buy a refrigerator & saw the stove. Waited until I complained/asked about damaged bill numerous times before prooding.

This company was just great and we will go to Lemcke first for any of our appliance shopping as well as recommend them to all of our family and friends. Their prices were better than all of the other big chains. They also were very helpful and gave us good information about the products we were looking for. They were not at all pushy and wanted to give us the best information not just wanting us to buy the most expensive products.

Lemcke has extremely competitive prices. When we originally went out they didn't have the one that I wanted so they went out and special ordered it for me. When it came in I went to look at it. When I was on my way out they asked me if I was headed home and they offered it to just follow me home and install it that night. It was very nice. They are amazingly competitive.

They only charge $10.00 to take the old away and are so easy and nice and quick to deal with. I bought a dishwasher from Home Depot and the amount of time I wasted, plus the $50.00 to deliver is not worth it!
Description of Work: I had purchased my washer from them six years ago and their prices are great. I needed a dryer and I just called and told him that I needed the biggest least expensive! He told me about a 2008 that they had in stock (last one) and I got a great deal on a dryer! I checked on-line at other stores and the price was great. I just went ahead and ordered site unseen because I trust them, it will here in 2 days.

Fabulous! We have been loyal to Lemckes for a number of years. Their prices can't be beat - in fact, I think the owner is referred to as ''Low cost Lou'' or something to that effect in appliance sales circles. They are always less expensive than chain stores. I don't even bother price-shopping anymore. As for service, they have always been very prompt and efficient. I once had them run a gas line. The sub-contractor they used had actually been a Laclede Gas supervisor who had opened his own shop. Excellent work product. As for general delivery and set-up - I've had mixed experiences. Most of the time the person is very professional. One time the guy was kind of questionable but Lemckes was very quick to respond to my issue. Overall - well worth the significant cost savings and personal attention (and no delivery fees).
Description of Work: Purchase and installation of stainless steel refrigerator, stainless steel slide in range, electric washer, and dryer. Note: We have purchased numerous other items and had other service done by Lemckes in the past.

I was very pleased with the help at the store and the installation. Their prices are about the best I've found and they will match prices. I work on Webster University's campus for the Repertory Theatre of St. Louis and Opera Theatre of St. Louis. These companies buy their appliances from Lemke. It's a family business and it shows.

THE GUY WAS NEARLY THREE HOURS LATE. HE WAS UNPROFESSIONAL, TALKED CONSTANTLY AND MEDDLED IN OUR BUSINESS. HIS ''SERVICE TRUCK'' WAS ACTUALLY HIS PERSONAL FAMILY VAN THAT WAS OLD AND IN DISREPAIR.
