We were not all that impressed with the salesman. He wasn?t horrible but he wasn't great.

My daughter referred us to Lane House Construction. They brought various colors of sample shingles by and laid on roof to help us decide on color. Worked with Lane around all the weather issues. Workers stayed and worked till job was done in one day. Workers tore off old roof and put on new roof. Replaced all vents pipes. Clean up was good. Warranty sounds good. Roof looks great. Very profesional Company. Highly recommend.

Lane House installed new windows and a new roof on my main home as well as the detached garage. They were very thorough beginning with the estimate as well as the actual installation. I am amazed at the overall quality and appreciate the fact that both Tim and Kerry gave me several money saving options. They were a pleasure to work with. I will definitely do business with them again when the opportunity arises.

I liked the estimator and he made me feel comfortable and the work was completed quickly. However, when the crew showed up to complete the work, they went up on the roof to check things out, left (I assume to go get supplies from the hardware store), came back, went up on the roof again - apparently to fix things this time - and left again. Not once did I receive any communication from the actual crew to show me or explain to me what repairs were indeed made and how they would be effective, nor did they let me know when they were finished. When I called the office to let them know I was dissatisfied with the customer service of the crew, I was treated rudely by a woman in the office and told that "there was no guarantee that this would fix the problem" and that it was "like putting on a bandaid" despite the fact that this isn't what I was told by the estimator - AND the roof is less than 7 years old. She actually made it sound like I should be happy the company was able to do the work in the ideal time frame I'd described to them (3 days from the date of the estimate); I thought THEY should be happy that I elected to give my business to them in this economy. Since that time, the roof is still leaking when it rains heavily. Also, though I was told by the estimator that the gutter could be reattached with some brackets, it appeared that the crew was actually unable to do anything for the gutter. I wish I had known that up front.

They had consistently contacted us for a number of years and had provided initial quotes. When we were ready to move forward, owner met with us to discuss details and provide updated pricing and provided roofing samples. Their quote was lower than other company we were considering. They provided us a reference list of their installations in the vicinity that had selected the same shingle color we were considering so we could see similar installations. They were very accommodating to our requests for protect new driveway and pool deck. After installation we decided we did not want the roof vent on the lower breezeway connecting house and roof and they removed and replaced with regular shingles, no problem. Thorough cleanup, completed in one full day with many employees.

Lane House was GREAT - and here's why. We are renovating the exterior of a small home in Maplewood Missouri. We needed gutters and began calling gutter companies to get prices. At the same time we were grading the yard, which was a sea of mud. Then, suddenly, a storm popped up on the radar and we knew that if we didn't get the gutter guys RIGHT THEN we would have a potential disaster with water in the basement and erosion in the yard. We asked Lane House to help us, and they actually pulled a crew off of another job to put up our gutters that day! That afternoon the heavens opened up and it rained for several days. If they hadn't helped us it would have been a wet mess. They did a professional job and charged us a fair and very reasonable price. They really came to our rescue and as a result they have gained a very loyal customer. I would recommend them every time!!

Extremely satisfied with the quality of workmanship and the timely manner in which it was completed. Job was completed in one day. Very impressed in the communication and explanation of work done.

Decided not to go with them as they were over-priced from the other quotes that I received

They came out and told us what type of windows they use and gave us a quote for installation. The owner came out and provided the estimate and told us how the work would be performed. He was very clear about their process and told us what to expect. He was very professional and on time. A different gentleman came to install them and installed them without a problem. He cleaned up after his work.

The experience was terrible. They didn't do anything for us. We were concerned about whether or not we needed a new roof. This at that time was a 7 year old house. The guy came, stood on the ground and looked up at the roof and told us that we needed a new roof. We had a leak around a standpipe and that was the problem. The guy tried to tell us that we needed a new roof and this was without even going up on the roof. He wanted me to have an insurance suggestor come here to talk to him so he could explain to the insurance suggestor why he thought we needed a new roof without ever going up on the roof to look at the problem. I couldn't believe it. They didn't charge us anything and I would not have paid it. We had no experience with him other than him coming supposedly to give us an estimate and he never did that because he never took the time to look. They came when they said they were going to. It was so long ago, I have no idea about their punctuality. We would not even call them in the future.

The first guy who came to my parents house I was very impressed with. I would have hired him on the spot, but they don't do roof repairs. He did spend a lot of time with me trying to figure out if there was any way he could legally help me with roof damage, but it didn't work out. The other person who came out to our house for hail damage I wouldn't have done business with them based on him, I didn't get a good feeling at all. Our neighborhood had sustained hail damage so we had to have a second opinion and I called them because I was so impressed with them the first time. The person they sent out was certainly not up to the quality of the first person I first experienced. Our insurance company had already been out and paid us for damage to our gutters. When this guy came out to the house he said there wasn't even any damage to the gutters so I took him around the house to show him another area and he was condescending and insulting saying he didn't agree that we had any damage. Once he said that I basically stopped listening because I began wondering how carefully he checked my roof. Based on this wee decided not to use them, however it is a different group of people for the company where my parents live so I would use that group again if needed.

It took them a while to get started but the weather was not cooperative so not a big deal. Since the work has been completed I have found two leaks in the house. The were prompt in fixing the first. The second leak is now damaging the ceiling and walls in my second bedroom. There is no flashing around the chimney. If I go into the attic I can see daylight where the roof meets the chimney. Overall the work done was very poor. I would not reccomend using this company for any job.

The work turned out wonderful. They were very prompt and very cordial. They just did a very professional job.

He came by and gave me an estimate. I hadn't really gotten back to him to let him know whether or not we'd use him or not. He then offered the deal with the 40 year shingles. After I signed the contract with him, I had a hard time getting a hold of him (even though he only lives a couple of blocks away). Other then that, it was fine and they did a good job.

They were very good. However, it took them a very long time to finish the work, as there were some problems. A part of the problem was that the company that supplied the material gave them wrong information. Then, the distributor didn?t have the right things in because it was a new product. It took a long time to get the material. However, once they got the material, they were wonderful. They came out and completed the work in a few days. They did exactly what they said they would do. They did a beautiful job and cleaned up well. The people were lovely and wonderful. They handled everything beautifully. They cleaned-up better than I had expected. I love them. The work cost me more than I had anticipated because the wood had to be replaced. However, it was required. When I called them, I got through easily. I got answers easily and I got people to talk to me. The office staff was lovely. The issues that I had were worked on. They talked to me about everything. It was definitely a long wait, but I don?t know if it would have been any different with any other company, considering the situation. They were a little expensive, but they did suggest me a lot of cheaper options. I wanted premium materials, so I can?t say if they were out of line. Their services were worth the price I paid. They worked on a weekend, in order to complete my roofing work. My roof looks lovely right now. I am sure I can depend on them in the future, if I have a problem with the roof.

There was good communication from the start. I was impressed that they worked around my schedule. The roof replacement took two days and I was kept up to date with any cost increases due to rotten wood. (The wood was saved for my inspection). Very good quality. Very polite and professional.

They couldn't do the work so they referred me to someone else. It sounded like it was too small of a job for him to do. He came out the same day.

They responded in a reasonable time to my request for a quote, however it took over a month for the work to begin. After I heard nothing back from them I called and was told my job would be done the following week. It was actually almost a month later when the job was done. When they showed up the work was done quickly (30-45 minutes), the crew leader was professional (he was the only one I dealt with) and they cleaned up everything quickly and left nothing behind. My job was small may have been the reason for the delay in performing the work, but a phone call to update me would have been nice.

My roof has a 30 degree pitch around the dormers front and back, so installation was a challenge. My neighbor had a mulberry tree (I say HAD because I've since hired another Angie's list member to cut any vestige of his tree on my property) . The tree limb had literally scrubbed through my tiling into the roof, and I was getting water damage in my house. After 5 prospective bidders, we chose Lane for one primary reason initially -- the estimator Harold Fitzgerald. He is dead honest and a great person to deal with. During the entire process, Harold was there reviewing the work from the front, back and sides. At all hours of the day and night. There was a crw of 6 people for the majority of the removal and installation and they were meticulous. One individual did nothing but do clean-up and provide any tool or material for the work crew. The crew was professional and very courteous. This was an excellent experience.

Bert came out several weeks in advance, walked up on the roof and provided an estimate. After I received two more estimates (one which said I just needed $750 in repairs and the salesman didnt go up onto the roof to look. I didnt believe him because my roof leaks drastically in many places. The second estimate was $2000 more, and the salesman never called me back to see whether I would like his company to proceed), I called Lane and told them to schedule the date. Everyone I spoke to on the phone was courteous. On the scheduled day, the office called to tell me there had been a mixup and they wouldnt be able to start on my roof until the next business day. The timing was actually better for me, so I was happy with the one day delay. Everything went smoothly, the clean up was great, nothing left over (well, except for a few small scraps of shingle that my dog loves to eat???? Go figure!). I was very pleased witht the whole experience. Bert was very knowledgable and professional.

The work went like clock work. They had to replaced 5 sheets of plywood which they showed us and stated the reason for replacement. I got up on the roof to see how the vents worked and the crew forman took time out to show how it worked. They were always courtious and helpful at all times. They finished on time and then another 2 men came out the next morning and replaced a area of guttering that was causing a small problem at no additional charge. We are quite happy with the result and would definitely recommend them to anyone needing a new roof or guttering.

I used Angie's List to locate 3 companies to replace my gutters. I selected Lane House Construction because they were the only one who could do business with me without ever meeting me, and perform the work without my being home. I travel, and I'm very busy. I have very little face time available. Dave Crutchfield, Lane House rep (BTW "Lane" and "House" are the names of the owners) was quick with my estimate and contract. Originally, I had considered a more expensive gutter guard system, and Dave recommended the less expensive Alcoa guards. I appreciated his frankness. What I'm really looking to purchase in these situations is experience. And he seemed to have a lot of it. He asked for some flexibility with the schedule because of some insurance jobs in Illinois. I told him that he had the whole month of July to do the work as long as I didn't need to be at home. I was in Georgia when the job started. The gutters were delivered and laid on the side lawn for several days. The lawn service e-mailed and complained they had to move them to mow, and wanted to be sure that was ok. Dave warned there would be minor timing issues because they contract another firm to extrude over-sized gutters. I returned to Missouri on Aug 1st. My new gutters were installed. The work site was clean, and thanks to a storm, I got to see that the gutters worked great.

I received three estimates; one from a local contractor that was highly recommended by friend, and two from Angies list Honor recipients. The local contractor provided the lowest price but I was concerned by their professionalism (insurance, lien waiver, etc.). The other bidder was significantly higher than Lane House Construction but the added elements in their bid were not of sufficient value to justify the difference in price. The crew that performed the work was very professional and curtious. As it turned out, Lane under estimated the amount of shingles required for my roof by three squares (roughly 10%) but did not ask to modify the contract. Even if the bid had included the additional three squares of shingles, it would have been the best value proposal. I highly recommend Lane House Construction.
