LANDSCAPE ST. LOUIS

The architectural plan was comprehensive and superbly addressed the major problems. It provided a wonderful back yard patio, and great stairs down from the kitchen deck down to the patio. The beds have great stone edging in many places and nice hard edges in other areas. The only weakness was the planting of some of the plants and shrubs. Some of these did not survive the very, very severe 2013-14 winter. Upon replacing these shrubs, I noted that the root balls had not been properly opened and splayed over a dirt mound, which contributed to losing at least a couple of them. Overall, about 90% of plantings did fine.

Team arrived on the date as promised. Demo'd the existing paver patio and leveled the entire area. They dug up and saved the plant material we wanted to keep and removed the old sod and unwanted plants. they then installed a cut Bluestone patio, stacked limestone raised planting bed and stacked stone water feature utilizing a pre-existing fountain. Installed a small grass area and mulched the planting beds prior to installing new plants.Whole project was promised in 2 weeks and the finished on time even though it was 100+ degrees the whole time.

My experience over the years has been that they are never punctual and never follow up on promises. On several occasions they have promised to return to finish minor details but never do. I'm not sure why I continued to do business with them. In March 2012, I called Landscape St. Louis to cut back several large ornamental grasses as this is a larger project than I want to perform. After four weeks and no work being done, I called again to ask when they would be coming by. Their response was that I was on their schedule for next week. They never showed and have never called. I decided at this point that I could not deal with this company any more.

Landscape Saint Louis provided what I wanted. They were good to deal with, though, there were some minor delays in the development of the plan due to the summer being their busy time. The price, while high compared to some others, was commensurate with the level of service provided and in line with other high quality landscape planners I have worked with. Overall, I was pleased with their performance.

Landscape St. Louis has very good training and they have professional designers. They are very efficent and they are very punctual. They are on time every day and they work no matter what even if the weather is bad. They are hard workers and they are very professional.

This was the strangest experience with a vendor we have ever had. The designer came to our house and I started to explain what kind of work we'd be interested in new beds and plantings, new trees, irrigation system, landscape lighting, etc. He asked what our budget was and I said that we were thinking around $10k, but were more concerned with the quality and the design than the cost so we were flexible with the budget. He basically cut off the discussion and said that we would be better off going with other landscapers in Illinois rather than St Louis. He said they would charge a lot for mileage and for the service. He also said they would charge $350 just for the design. It sounded like when we told him the budget was around $10,000 he wrote us off. He gave us some recommendations on other landscapers to call. But when he found out in conversation that I could get tickets to a sporting event through my work, he said if I could give him 4 tickets to it he would waive the $350 design fee. He repeated that and stressed he was serious about it. The meeting lasted only about 15 minutes as he didn't really want to talk about the design and gave the impression that our budget was too small, even though we said we were open to ideas and were flexible. It was overall a strange encounter and we didn't know what to think.

I had several bids and chose this company because they will work with your ideas. They will also work with your budget. They offer excellent ideas and a full service yard care packages.

WHEN I CALLED, THEY SAID THAT THE APPOINTMENT WAS CANCELLED. I NEVER CANCELLED IT AND INFORMED THEM OF THAT. THE OFFICE PERSON THEN AGREED TO ANOTHER APPOINTMENT THE NEXT DAY, FRIDAY, AT 8:00. I WAITED FOR 15 MINUTES AND THEN WENT TO WORK. THEY NEVER SHOWED OR CALLED ME. PATHETIC.

WORK WAS COMPLETED IN A TIMELY MANNER. WORKERS POLITE! THEY WERE NOT CHEAP, BUT THEIR PRICES ARE COMPETITIVE AND COMPARABLE TO OTHER LANDSCAPERS. THE THING THAT IMPRESSED ME MOST WAS THEIR ATTENTION TO DETAIL AND CREATIVE DESIGN. HE DESIGNS TO COMPLEMENT THE PROPERTY.
