As we go out of town through the winter, I have depended on this service to take care of the leaves and keep the grass cut while we are gone for several months. They would always mail me the bills. I tried contacting them when we left this past year in December to let them know we were leaving and the leaves needed to be raked and bagged. They never returned my call. I never heard from them through the winter. When we returned in April, nothing was taken care of. I placed two more calls to them and they never returned my call. Now I have to find another service which is a disappointment as they were dependable and I really liked them. It is regrettable that they would not even inform me that they were no longer in service if that is the case.
Description of Work: Will not return my calls.

+ -1 moreMr. Walls returned my call in a reasonal amount of time. We set up time for him to come out and give a bid on cleanup. He arrived when indicated, was very cordial, looked the project over and gave an estimate. Said he could start work following Monday afternoon and might need to return on Tuesday to finish. He and his team showed up on Monday as indicated and returned on Tuesday to finish the job. His crew was hard working and very polite. We would definately hire this company again and we have had compliments on the completed job.
Description of Work: Remove wood (large pieces) from tree cut down 2 years prior and clean off and discard weeds growing on fence where wood was piled.

For the other project he came to my house and looked at the request and then completed the work.that day in a few hours. I would use him again and have already recommended him to another angie's list member.

I told him it would need to be cut every two weeks and he has been right on time every two weeks. His men are very professional and do a wonderful job in cutting and trimming. I could not rate them any higher. My neighbors are in awe of the trimming work.

+ -1 moreCalled L. R. Walls Lawn Care at the end of June, 2011 for an estimate on mowing my front/back lawn. Mr. Walls returned my call and we scheduled a time to meet sometime after 5:00 p.m. one evening. Mr. Walls was very personable and professional on the phone. We waited for a couple of hours after 5:00 p.m. on the specified date/time of arrival which was agreed upon. Mr. Walls did not show up at the agreed date/time slot. It was around the Fourth of July holiday weekend and we gave him the benefit of the doubt that he most likely was extremely busy. We called several more times for an estimate and left messages on his voicemail in early July, 2011. Today, is Tuesday, July 26 2011, and we still have not received a return call or an estimate for lawn work from L.R. Walls Lawn Care. If his company has more than enough in business, then - that too is understandable. We still would welcome an estimate and possibly his business.
Description of Work: Called for an estimate at the end of June, 2011 from L.R. Walls Lawn Care to cut my lawn and remove weeds at the front and back yard. Left a message on voicemail; to which Mr. Walls returned my call and we scheduled an agreed time slot in the early evening.

+ -1 morePhone call answered by individual who was very polite and inspection was scheduled for the next day. The man arrived at the scheduled time and diagnosed the problem area as a fungus and applied a fungicide at this time. Fertilizer and weed killer applied the next week. Initially the bill did not indicate the half off of first treatment as listed on Angie's list, but when that was pointed out, the adjustment was made immediately.
Description of Work: Appointment to inspect the lawn scheduled for the day after my first call. Applied fungicide the same day he came to inspect the lawn. Weed killer and fertilizer applied the next week.

Description of Work: I called for an estimate and Lawrence came out the next morning to see the work to be done. He told me how many men he would have on the job and indicated the amount of time it would take and what he charged per man hour. He indicated that he would be able to come the following Monday (because of out of town guests coming on Thursday, and the fact that we had so much rain, I was pleased he could schedule the job so promptly). I had many weeds in my ivy beds which needed to be removed. It required more than trimming with a weed eater. The young men did a fine job. We are very pleased. The short notice was an assignment which Lawrence was ready to complete. I strongly recommend him for any lawn maintenance jobs.

I will probably be hiring them for some landscaping work in the spring and will definitely use their services for lawncare in the future.
Description of Work: I had a VERY overgrown backyard--lots of large weeds, stumps, saplings, vines overgrowing the fence....lots to haul away. They even did an area behind my garage which I thought was inaccessible, and they took away every single scrap of debris. Amazing! The yard looks fantastic.

This is the second season I have had Lawrence and his crew come do our aeration. He is one of nicest, hard-working, professional gentleman I've met. + -1 moreFound on Angie's list as highly recommended. I called and left message for an estimate. Set a time for the owner to come and look at the yard. It took just a few minutes, he told me what he would do and how much it would cost, and assured me I would be happy with the work. Because of the weather, it was uncertain when the work would take place, but I was called when it seemed it would happen. After the work was completed, an invoice was dropped off at the house. I wish I had taken before/after pictures because the difference was so remarkable.
Description of Work: Lawn clean up and waste removal. I have a sweetgum tree and all the b were removed. Overgrown honeysuckle bushes trimmed back. Cut and trimmed front and back lawns and cleaned out flower beds of winter leaves/sweetgum b . Easement area cleared of brush.

+ -1 moreThey were nothing but professional throughout (from providing the estimate, to getting the work done). They arrived on time, were very thorough in everything they did, went above and beyond for every task that was completed and even provided extra services, such as edging and creating swales along the edge of my gardens, without requesting additional fees. I was so happy with their work that I paid them $325 even though they quoted me a price of $260. They never asked for more money, I just thought that the work they did met and exceeded my expectations and I wanted to make sure they were compensated accordingly.
Description of Work: In my front yard they pruned 3 spirea shrubs, transplanted one spirea shrub to a new location, removed 3 dead juniper shurbs, edged all walkways, cleared all weeds and created swales for all garden areas. Additionally, they removed over 26 feet of rotting railroad ties. On the side of my house they trimmed down 7 very large yucca's that had not been maintained at all for several years. In my backyard they cleared an extensive area that was overgrown with pokeweed, dead tress and aggressive plants and removed dozens of cement rocks from the edge of the area, which had to be dug out one at a time. They also cleared several garden beds (for one that involved removing dense 3 ft tall honeysuckle that had taken over the entire area). In the front, side and backyards they removed all the leaves--in some areas leaves had been collecting for over 2 years. They also removed leaves and debreis from between rocks in a water feature and on/around a flagstone patio and walkway. When done, they removed all yard waste that was generated and even meticulously stacked some valuable left over flagstone and pavers that were discovered beneath a heavily weeded area.
