Kirkwood Plumbing was very responsive, sending a highly qualified technician within 24-hours. He did an incredible job replacing old cast stacks and vents to our 2nd floor bath. The further comment that I would make is they are not cheap. I'm still trying to reconcile their cost for a 7-8 hour job, but the results couldn't be better.

Garrett was very professional and efficient. He got the job done in a timely manner. We are very pleased with his work and will call again if we have a plumbing issue. Dee B.

They couldn't give me a price over the phone (even though it's a standard repair), they will only give you a price by coming to your home. If you don't use their service, they charge a trip charge of $59. As it turns out, their "book price" for a PRV is beyond ridiculous at nearly $800. The parts run $125ish at RETAIL (Home Depot), and it can't take more than 2 hours TOPS to replace it (less than an hour based on multiple Youtube videos), so MAYBE $450 could be considered “reasonable”. I’m VERY unhappy that their prices are so exorbitant, and I even had to pay for the privilege of having somebody come all of the way here to tell me the “book price”, when they could have given me that price over the phone and kept us both from wasting time and $. It’s troubling to have to pay a trip charge just to get a ridiculously overpriced bid. Another vendor gave me a fixed price, OVER THE PHONE, of $400. No trip charge, no funny games. I just sent the technician home. I’m usually not very vocal, but this is egregious. Obviously, I would NOT recommend this company.

I was told before they began work that my amount was $358.00 and that is what I paid. I was sent a video of the line and a description of the problem to forward to St Louis County. Also, I needed to contact St Louis County to get a lateral line repair and was told to go online and fill out the application and submit to St. Louis County with the above video. St Louis County responded saying I needed the plumbers signature on the application pages. I contacted Kirkwood Plumbing / Mr Rooter and they said I would have to pay another $166.00 for the the signature pages on the application. Oh, and that the camera run through the drain was not charged properly. Initially they they wanted to charge me another $330. but gave me the generous discount to only $166. So, they held me hostage for the signatures required by St Louis County. I had no choice but to pay the ransom. So, the quoted price before they began work was meaningless. Its unfortunate because the technician they sent out was very good and friendly. If this was a mistake it is one they should have eaten. I won't use them again. I won't use them again.

They were on time, they had a good price and I was satisfied with the job that they did. I'm going to use them again.

Did exactly what I asked. Called and asked to come a little early, and completed the job very quickly. Clean, professional, and on time.

Work was speedy with no mess left behind.

Kirkwood Plumbing is represented by very capable plumbers, does its work without surprises, and has a very strong commitment to customer satisfaction. For those reasons I give it an A rating. Below is the story. I needed to have the upper stack of the toilet replaced and have a new toilet installed. Of the 3 companies I called, only Kirkwood Plumbing sent a master plumber, a plus. Paul was very observant and identified the least intrusive manner I was chip to complete the tasks, which in an old home, was not simple. Although not the least expensive bid, I accepted it based on the confidence Paul inspired. That was a very good decision. Greg arrived on time at the appointment date and immediately went to work. He is a capable plumber who worked very hard and efficiently, a plus. He had a great manner with his assistant and it was a pleasure to observe them working together. Greg was determined to leave me with running water and a functional toilet by the time he had to leave, and that was much appreciated. To that end, however, he did not take the time to go back to get the correct saw to cut through the cabinet and wall and thus created sufficient dust particles to saturate the air. Nor did he go back to get the correct shut off valve so he didn't install one. Those were negatives. After he left, I noticed that I could no longer open the faucets in the bathroom so I got in touch with Kirkwood plumbing. They immediately rescheduled a return visit, a positive. Greg attended to the issues that remained but couldn't repair the faucet problem. Although he was convinced that he did not cause this problem, he called Jason in to take over, another plus. Jason is a very thoughtful, methodical plumber who calmly and efficiently repaired the problem. I don't know if he thought this issue was a separate or related problem but he refused any additional payment that I offered, another plus.

Semantic misunderstanding has been resolved.

On February 10th, 2015 I called Kirkwood Plumbing to see if they could put in a new kitchen faucet and garbage disposal. Because they do not have a showroom, they suggested a plumbing supplier. I followed their suggestion and after purchasing my items I called Kirkwood Plumbing back to schedule an appointment. Two days later Jim, a 5th generation plumber, showed up promptly at my door. He was personality plus! He was very friendly and put my mind at ease about the project. I had an unorthodox configuration under my sink, but Jim was not deterred. He worked quickly, efficiently and neatly. Jim is not just a plumber, he is an artist. He replaced old valves and made underneath the sink look new again. He checked everything to make sure it worked, including the dishwasher. He also explained the usage and care of our new items. I've used Kirkwood Plumbing several times and would highly recommend them. The office personnel is very efficient.

Great! We were concerned about the broken piece, but the company went above and beyond in correcting it and the service was excellent. The tech that came out was friendly, professional, and explained everything he was doing. He even diagnosed two other problems with easy solutions in different parts of the house as he was cleaning up! This company deserves to be recommended for a service award! I have already given their info to a friend who is remodeling a bathroom and needs plumbing work.

Called today for a non-emergency service (no water leaks at the moment). I scheduled an appointment for the following week. A couple hours later they called and said they could come today. Jason arrived a few minutes later. He was very friendly and professional. He reviewed the damage from the leak (we had turned off the water). He was able to quickly determine the likely cause. After making the fix he double checked to ensure the problem was fixed. I really appreciated his expertise and ability to ensure the fix worked. I also appreciated his friendly demeanor. I have used Kirkwood Plumbing before and they will be the first for me to call.

I scheduled a 2-4 pm appointment earlier this week for Kirkwood Plumbing to come out and fix a toilet. I called to verify this appointment earlier today and was informed they "should be able to come" for the service. At 355 today, I received a call that a plumber could not make it that they could "try again Monday after 3." I informed her that I had to take off work for this appointment and this very inconvenient. Although we've had a good experience with them in the past, this experience is very annoying. Is this normal for plumbing companies to not make 'appointments.'? Update: a plumber came on Monday afternoon and promptly and professionally fixed the problem.

It was fantastic experience. They came when they said they would be out to my home. Let me check in on them and explain to me what they are doing. They are very responsive and prompt. They wear booties so they don't track dirt through the house. They are very professional and clean up when they are finished. Everything works as it should when they are finished.

They weren't much higher than the lower bid. They came out immediately to help us. They other company couldn't do the work for several weeks. Once we selected them after our three bids, they performed the job. They did excellent work.

Had a large water spot appear on my ceiling. I called Kirkwood plumbing. They had someone out to the house in less than 2 hours. Mike found the problem quickly. As it was something I could fix, he just charged the service call. We also discussed further plumbing work we need done. He was very helpful and informative as to the future work as well as polite and professional about the issue he came to fix. Very pleased.

The plumber that was replacing the o rings on the kitchen faucet didn't make sure that the faucet turned off when the sprayer was on. They did a good job with the other two items.

The owner came out and gave the bid. The thing that impressed me is that do not have a payment plan, I spoke to the owner about that and he said to pay a 1/4th down and then finish the rest over the next 3 mos. His son came out and did the work and they cleaned up well after themselves. They were all very nice throughout the company, from the office staff to the gentlemen that came out and I was very pleased with them.

I chose this company because my father recommended them. They took the time to explain the reasons that they used the materials that they did. They did a good job and kept the costs to a minimum.

Could not have been better. Ran into a scheduling issue with another plumber. Called Kirkwood Plumbing on Monday, they were able to schedule us for the next day. Gave them the info from the original plumber's proposal and they agreed to match the cost and work. Plumber was running late due to very heavy traffic. Called 45 minutes before the scheduled appointment to let us know he might be a little late. Arrived only 10 to 15 minutes late, which was fine with us since he had called. Got right to work and finished within a few hours.

Paul S. was great. The work needed to be coordinated with our furnace company (due to where the water heater was located) and Paul made sure that got done. Kirkwood Plumbing also pointed out where the furnace company was going to do something against code. Kirkwood Plumbing does all of our plumbing needs and will continue to do so.

We have always been very pleased with their work. The workers are friendly and knowledgeable and show up on time. We will continue to use them for future service.

First visit by Paul was quick and he promised a quote in a few days. It took several phone calls and over two weeks to get a quote. The quote turned out to be for plumbing only when I needed, and requested the entire rough in (concrete pulled up). Called several times trying to get a revised quote and, after over a month, gave up. The quote for plumbing only from Kirkwood plumbing was $3000. I ended up getting the entire rough in done for $2900 from a very responsive contractor.

It was relatively satisfactory. It was a slow response. They did come and take care of the work and they cleaned up well.

Great experience. Plumber was on time and worked quickly and efficiently. He left both the kitchen and bathroom neat and tidy. My only complaint was that they were evidently very busy that week and it took numerous calls to get an appointment scheduled. Other than that it was a top-notch experience.
