I made an appointment and was given a time when someone would arrive to do an estimate. When that time passed, I called to see what was going on and was told by the receptionist that she'd cancelled the appointment--for reasons she explained too fast for me to catch, but it sounded like maybe I was supposed to have called to confirm the appointment. Anyway, she sent someone later in the day. He turned out to be a specialist in shower doors,not windows, but said he would take measurements (which he did, a little tentatively) and have someone else respond with questions and/or an estimate, within the next three days. It's now been over two weeks and we've heard nothing from them.

Kirkwood Glass told me they could respond to my emergency in two weeks. No thanks!

The glass product on first install was poor quality, but company has ordered different glass from a different manufacturer and will redo installation

Kirkwood Glass was professional, courteous, and prices were reasonable. The "measurer" arrived on time, and I was given a proposal in writing the same day. Communication was excellent; my questions were answered asap. Installation was right on schedule, went smoothly. I was pleased with their work.

The Tech that they sent to our home was very arrogant in the way he spoke to us, he did not have answers to basic questions we asked. He was incorrect on many of the things he told us (things that were confirmed to be incorrect by 3 other glass and mirror companies). We just asked for an estimate, he was there for two hours. He mentioned he was going to take some measurements, so I left the room and walked back in a couple minutes later and he had removed our newly installed lights from the wall, we never gave permission to do so nor did he ever ask or mention the need to remove our lights, he also wrote notes and measurements all over our newly painted walls! Our lights were reinstalled crooked. We were just asking for an estimate, they were not installing anything yet they were removing our property without permission and were defacing our walls. Their bid came back almost double the price of all our other bids! Kirkwood glass needs to teach their techs a lesson in good customer service.

We called them, there was someone who answered the phone, and gave us an estimate over the phone after we told them the size of the pane that needed replacing. The estimate was lower than another glass company I called. A third company( Window Restoration) failed to call us back after twice I left messages. Then they came within the next few days to come and make an accurate measurement and final estimate which was $3 less than the phone estimate. We went ahead and asked them to replace the glass. It took from Oct 29, the day we accepted the estimate, to Nov 10 to get the pane installed. Apparently it takes 10 business days for tempered glass to be manufactured. It cannot be cut to size, they have to make the panes individually from scratch. The installation took about 10 minutes. They called 10 minutes before showing up which was very good. The workman removed the broken glass and took the pieces with him (although he missed one large piece which had fallen on the other side of the door). I was very happy with the results, the fact I was able to get someone on the phone the first time I called them, an estimate that was closely matched by the final cost, and prompt service. This is also the company who told us it would cost us much less for labor if we could bring in the door ourselves. It was nice to be told about this option even if we couldn't take them up on it.

It was a very good interaction. He was professional and kind. They came out to my location and installed the glass. It was a reasonable cost. However, they had ordered the wrong glass so it was delayed. They were supposed to install it last Friday and it was only today that they installed it because they waited for the right window.

I am providing this review as a cautionary tale to others that no matter how highly rated a company is on Angie's List, it doesn't mean that you won't be given an inflated price, so it ALWAYS pays to research prices and get other estimates. The manager of Kirkwood Glass' Mirror & Shower Department came on time to measure for two vanity mirrors for our master bathroom. We wanted basic 1/4 inch thick, polished edge mirrors. Adam measured the area carefully, but I was unhappy that he made long and dark pencil marks (several were more than two inches long), especially since he said it would be a couple weeks before installation after we committed. He then gave me a price of $558 for the two mirrors. I was surprised by this bid because I had researched the cost of mirrors. They customarily run $8 to $15 per square foot installed, which on my job would be approximately $225 at the low end to $420 on the high end. Kirkwood Glass' estimate was almost $20 per square foot for plain mirror. Needless to say, I called another company and one week after they came to measure, I have two beautiful mirrors installed by Barron Mirror Glass & Door for a total price of $310 (about $10.80 per square foot). That's 80% less than the price given by Kirkwood Glass for the exact same product and result (assuming Kirkwood Glass would have done the job to our satisfaction).

Kirkwood Glass is a very reliable and extremely professional company. I have used this company to repair windshields in my last three vehicles. They have also made a custom cut of glass for my dining room table that was completed with perfection.

Absolutely loved the glass technicians who came to install the windows. They did a great, professional job. Found office staff rude and unhelpful when I called and visited the store. In fact, one woman in particular was so rude that I was this/close to canceling my order. Glad that I didn't, but still.

We have used this company before. they came in, gave estimates, and within a couple of weeks had our glass and installed it. Easy and done. No messing around. Appropriate pricing versus others and quick, efficiently and friendly. As I noted, have used them before and will continue to use. Found good company and one less bother when questioning who to call.

He directed us to have some other work done on the front door so he was very helpful. He was very nice, very helpful and very knowledgeable.

Kirkwood Glass was recommended to me by Home Depot. Kirkwood Glass sent a person out to measure the glass then they had to order the double pain, sealed units for the two windows. When the glass came in they came to our home and in less than 1/2 hour removed the broken glass, cleaned out the windows and installed the new sealed glass. They were prompt, professional and obviously knew what they were doing. I'd recommend them to anyone. I don't know if their pricing was reasonable or high because the Home Depot and Loewe's people could not give me a quote because they do not handle glass replacement.

I had a monday appointmetn for them to come and measure the glass and give an estimate only. They called to confirm the appointmetn saturdya, but also stated they had an opending now if I wanted it. The technician was at my house withi 30 minutes and also brought the glass he thought would fit my door. He was right with the size and was able to replace it right then. Very nice and a big time saver.

In 2011, the windshield on our Ford Flex was broken during a hail storm. We had the windshield replaced at Kirkwood Glass and all was well for almost a year. A crack suddenly appeared in the upper right hand corner of the windshield. We called one of the crack repair companies that fill small windshield holes or cracks with resin. The technician came and looked at the damage and said that he couldn't repair the crack because it was cracked from the inside not from the outside. He pointed out that there was a bubble in glass and said that the glass was defective and that was why there was a crack--it had not occurred from damage or from rock striking the windshiield. We called Kirkwood Glass and they told us to bring in the car to be evaluated. Their technician examined the windshield and verified that there was a bubble in the glass. The windshield was replaced and we were under the impression that Kirkwood Glass was handling the replacement cost. However, withour our authorization, they submitted a claim to our insurance company and then billed us for the deductible. My husband and I both tried to contact the manager who never returned our calls.

I recently moved to St. Louis and, in the move, broke one of the two glass doors to a hutch. A colleagues recommended Kirkwood glass and I went there to have the glass cut to specifications. I took the other door so they would have exact measurements. They provided the service, very quickly (within 2 days). At the time I took the glass to be cut, I didn't have the hardware and so I took the glass back a week or so later to have the hardware put in. Again, I brought both doors so they would see how the hardware was set (it seemed more complicated than I was willing to attempt). When I arrived at the store, the glass (that wasn't originally broken) was cracked and so I needed to have yet another piece of glass cut. They cut this other piece, installed the hardware, and didn't charge me for this second cut - even though it was unclear whether I or they did the damage. This is awesome customer service. BTW, while I was in the store, I overheard one of the staff members speaking with another customer and that exchange was also exactly as one would expect from a store that provides excellent customer service. Overall I am very happy with the service, and would highly recommend Kirkwood Glass!

The workers were punctual and professional. They explained the process to ensure I understood. The glass was replaced in less than 10 minutes. They did a great job!

During our annual Easter dinner, a hot dish was placed directly on the glass top covering the serving buffet. OOPS!! The glass top cracked and broke into two pieces. After recovering from my sense of stupidity, I fired up Angie's List and found great reviews of Kirkwood Glass. Boy were they ever right!! On Monday morning I called Kirkwood Glass and spoke with a VERY knowledgeable and friendly lady. Later that day, I dropped off the broken glass top and was greeted by another friendly lady. She told me that they could duplicate the broken top and have it ready on Wednesday. Wednesday morning they called and said it was ready. When I picked it up a friendly man carefully placed it in the back of my van for me. I drove home and put it in place on the buffet. PERFECTION!! I would not hesitate to use Kirkwood Glass again. However, next Easter, I will use a pad under the hot dish!!

I went there and they gave me an estimate. They replaced it that day.

The tech was great. He was able to come early, he was very pleasant, worked fast and cleaned up after the work was done.
