Very congenial! I made an informational call only. I was given honest answers to my questions. I gathered from our discussion that at this point I might not need a real estate appraiser. If at a later date I decide that I need JOHN BURGHOFF APPRAISAL I would not hesitate. However, at this time for such services I don't have any information on prices. At that time price comparison would have a bearing on hiring an appraiser.

Fair, don't think his appraisal was fully accurate!

John did a good job of looking over the property and giving me an appraisal. Had to move appointment up by half hour due to my personal schedule and John was able to do so with no problem. I think the appraisal was done quickly (within days), was fair and took into consideration the homes condition. Also, at my request was able to refer a local title company professional who I contacted and was both knowledgeable and had a quick response. Just like John.

Mr. Burghoff was very professional and quick to respond to my request. Furthermore, I felt that he was accurate in his assessment. His information was helpful in moving forward with the home sale process.

Mr. Burghoff did an excellent job. From the first phone call I was impressed. He was very responsive to phone calls and accommodating as far scheduling. He arrived early and got right to work on top of the roof. His report was extremely detailed and the photos were excellent. I was able to walk with him and he explained everything as well as provided helpful hints and maintenance tips. I was writing feverishly and he told me that his report would be very detailed and contain all the information. His report was exactly as he promised. I will definitely be using this report in the future when I need repairs done on the home and have even pulled it up to show photos to persons in the hardware store. I felt his home assessment was objective and fair ( I was the buyer and did not want to overpay). In addition, I had the full report within 2 working days, which according to him could have been sooner. For me, the time was perfect and he had not promised it earlier than I received it. I emailed him a few questions. He was very prompt, helpful and professional in his response. I would definitely hire Mr. Burghoff again.

I needed an appraisal of an inherited house for tax purposes and to gauge the selling price of the house. The appraisal I got was a lot lower than I had expected due in part to the use of foreclosed, bank-owned properties used in the appraisal process. Based on the appraised price, I sold the house to a "quick sell" company. That company resold the house "as-is" one week later for 43% more than the appraised price. If I was buying a house, I would use this company but I cannot recommend them as a seller.

Was appointed executor of a relative's estate. Had no idea of value of his older home in Lemay as I don't live near there. Called John as he was close to where I live and had excellent ratings. Arrived on time and was very personable. We sat and talked about the house for awhile, me mostly pointing out what I thought were detriments to selling the home. He turned those concerns around showing me how they could be pluses. Very impressed and grateful for that. Will now be able to put on market without considering going without a realtor or going with a "flip and sell" company. Put together a package with pictures, comparable neighborhood sales with pics, Wonderful, wonderful job. Definitely use again.

I reached out to John for his availability and pricing, and I was impressed at his turnaround time in calling me back and setting up an appointment. He also provided savings because I was an Angie's List member. He was very efficient in also providing my family a copy of the appraisal in a timely manner. I was extremely impressed with his professionalism.

He provided a detailed report with comparable sales and listings with replacement costs. I was concerned that John wouldn't be familiar with St Peters or St Charles County as he is in St Louis City, however he was quite versed in the St Charles market and also did many corporate inspections in the area. His valuation of the property was spot on and gave me the tool to move forward to place the house on the market with confidence.

He went over and beyond and gave us pointers for improving our home's value. He literally sent me a layout of what he would do with our home. He was very helpful and knowledgeable around what the renovation would entail. I could tell he did thorough research of the area before coming to the appointment.

I needed a home appraisal to establish current market value. Not being a resident of St. Louis, I turned to Angie's list to find an appraiser. Burghoff Appraisal was selected based on 2 criteria. 1) I wanted an appraiser close to where the home is located and 2) excellent reviews. I corresponded with Mr. Burghoff by email and telephone. He was very prompt at replying when not immediately available. The online order form was easy to use. I discussed with Mr. Burghoff my need date (within 2 weeks). He then contacted the residence living in the home to set up an appointment and followed up promptly with the report. The report was sent to my email address as an Adobe pdf file and was very comprehensive. I am very please with the service.

John arrived on time and was very professional. He provided an excellent appraisal amount that worked very well for us as we eventually sold the house. He made a couple of good recommendations as to what might need or not need to be done as far as getting the house ready.

John was punctual and was only at the home for 30 to 45 minutes. I received a written report from him a few days later. I had previously calculated my own purchase price estimate range based on public records, and John's appraisal came in at the low end of my range. Thus, I think his appraisal was legitimate, and I'd consider using Burghoff again.

He was able to schedule my appraisal quickly, was thorough and careful on the day of, and in addition to a very comprehensive report provided excellent ideas for future improvements. I was reassured by his professionalism and more than pleased with the service.
