The carpenter came and looked at what the job required, went and bought the material. Came back and tore off the rotted and damaged materials and set about replacing and installing the new material. Everything looks terrific and is now water-tight. They hauled off the debris and left the work site clean. They were great to work with. We would use them again.

Work went very will. There was a mix-up on my part rgradig the coupon and J P Frisch handled it very professionally. Work was done very well and satisfactorily.

Excellent service and explanation of what will be needed in the future. Explanations saved me money on unnecessary work at this time. Another company had told me I would need to replace my bathroom floor but John Frisch contractor explained why that wasn't necessary.

Everything went fine till it came to my restroom toilette handled being replace . The toilet still makes a hissing sound that will need to be taken care of

Not well because I agreed to pay another 60.00 to have the last light installed and the owner said he would call back and reschedule. I waited 2 days and never received a call. The contractor told me that he installed ceiling fans all summer but he had to read instructions for the one I had. He also took a smoke break and I didn't appreciate him pouring the remainder of the drywall mud down my kitchen sink. I expected 4 hours of work and was not completely satisfied. I will try another contractor. I hear a click in the ceiling fan so concerned if installed correctly because I have older fans that I cannot hear anything. There were extra screws left in the box. Did he use everything...not sure.

Contractor arrived on time and was professional and courteous. I gave him my prioritized list and he went right to work. During the appointment there were some unexpected supplies that were needed so I had to make a couple of trips to home depot but all in all I am pleased. Unfortunately, the bathroom fan I had purchased would not fit without a lot more work involved, so I had to remove that from my list.

We were satisfied with all aspects of the handyman's work and with the company in general. Used coupon.

They did an excellent job. All repairs were completed in 6 hours. I would definitely use them again!

He gave great advise about garage door and fixed many things. I sitll have an hour "left" of the four hours so that is to be credited, as I understood from technician, to our actual install. We will purchase more handy hours from this company they were great.

I will definately be using these guys again. They worked very quickly, neatly and the work turned out great! I had new cabinets installed a while back and all of the doors needed to be adjusted. They adjusted all of them, painted the back door to the house. Painted a door to the garage, installed some floor trim in the kitchen. Did those odd jobs that would have taken me all day and they didnt it in half the time.

Excellent! Greg was very professional and knowledgeable. He arrived on time and made recommendations on using the proper trims for a period house. The new trims look amazing in my kitchen. He worked through the list of other repairs and he was able to complete the repairs. I will definitely use him again for the projects around my house. A+

Ron arrived 20 minutes early and got to work fast completing the removal of the old deck stairs. He cut new stair stringers and replaced all the treads and reattached the railings all in the 4 hour Angie's List coupon I had purchased. He made quick work of it as I had bought all the materials before hand. The stairs are more solid than they were previously (even before they started rotting) and they look great. He cleaned up well. I would definitely work with them again when a need arises in the future.

This is a top notch construction and handyman company. On this visit the worker was prompt, fast, detail-oriented and cleaned up the work areas thoroughly. We had a variety of smaller items that needed to be repaired and all were completed before the estimated completion time in a very professional manner. It's no wonder that this company holds such high ratings from it's customers. Several years ago JP Frisch Construction completely finished our unfinished basement to the highest standard. All of our family and friends have remarked at the quality of the entire job which included drywall, tile, painting, bathroom, lighting and finish carpentry. The owner helped us with the design as well. Our lower level is now a beautiful space and we have recommended this company to many.

I had a really unpleasant experience with this company. The work they completed will now have to be completely redone by another contractor. Owner was unreasonable when we tried to discuss our concerns, despite the work being undeniably incomplete and poor craftsmanship. We tried to negotiate a price, but Mr. Frisch was unwilling to reach a compromise at all. Only until we put a hold on the check, while continuing to communicate with him, did he agree to have his worker come out to fix the poor job he had done at half his regular rate. We requested a different employee to re-do the job, but he absolutely refused. When we told him we did not want his company to do anymore work if he would not send a different employee, he text me and said that he would ?be forced to file a mechanics lien against your property.? Despite meeting for about 30 minutes with Mr. Frisch while getting an estimate, and discussing the problem areas that needed repair in my bathroom, the worker showed up with NO supplies (supplies were grout and clear caulk). I would assume (and in my past experience) a reputable company would have these supplies on hand - I agreed to pay for supplies, but did not realize I would have to pay $60 for the worker to go to Home Depot to purchase them. Mr. Frisch claimed he encouraged me to purchase the supplies before the job, but no such conversation ever took place. I purchased grout, which after the man began to use, was obvious it was much too dark. The worker and I discussed that a light sand grout was needed, and he then went to the store to purchase it. I assumed he knew what he was doing, and so did not check the new grout color he purchased. He bought DARK gray grout. It looks HORRIBLE. I can't believe he didn't stop to show me, but he completed the job in the dark grout. He then told me he could he fix it, but I would have to pay for the time to purchase the additional supplies AND the time for him to remove the grout and then to regrout (and this is after I already paid $60 for him to get the wrong supplies, and another $60 to do the original grout work!). He also was to mud an area of the drywall. That is a disaster- it clearly needed another coat of mud, but after talking to the owner he said it didn't. The owner argued with me that I said I would sand to complete the job - I did agree to sand, but this clearly needed a 2nd layer of mud, and the owner argued that it was complete and done correctly. I certainly didn't agree to apply another coat of mud myself. There were many obvious spots of the drywall that weren't repaired at all. If you read through the reviews he has many ?A?s and happy customers, but it seems that the majority of the jobs which he is receiving positive reviews for are for hanging curtain rods, installing ceiling fans, etc. ? very small handy man type jobs, mostly by people who bought his frequently running coupon. But, there are multiple reviews that follow along the same lines as mine. I now have learned to filter my review of a company by the negative reviews before hiring a company. Our work involved mud and grout work, maybe sticking with the small jobs with this company is best, if you choose to deal with them at all. Now all dry wall cracks, seam breaks have reappeared. The owner did negotiate the price (AFTER we put a hold on the check- before that he told us he was not going to "lose money on this job.") Now, everyday that I use my bathroom, I am completely aggravated that I paid $240 for nothing, all the work has to be completely redone- so, I will still have to pay someone else to come in and fix what they did. I wish I never called them, complete waste of time and money.

A little trouble getting started on the ceiling fan, but once he got going, things went very well from there. Very pleasant worker. Used the time effectively. Disappointed, however, when I found out that I had hired a handyman, as they had advertised as general contractors when I had purchased the deal. The price was great for a general contractor, but not so great for a handyman (in my opinion). Nevertheless, work performed was very good.

Everything went great! They were on time for our appointment. They explained everything that was done.

He arrived on time and was very professional and polite. In less than four hours, he mounted a ceiling fan, replaced two outside water spigots and replaced a leaky water valve in the bathroom and replaced the flush mechanism in the basement toilet. He checked all of his work and made sure it was right before he left. This time included a run to the hardware store for parts. It is so nice to have everything working properly again. The deal was 4 hours of handyman work for $189 plus parts. The parts came to $89.00. Great job!

I can't say enough about my terrific experience with this company. During the course of redeeming my purchase of work hours, I dealt with two of their professionals as well as with the owner. I didn't realize, but there really is a difference in engaging a construction oriented company for work I needed at my home. Even though it wasn't construction work per se, the experience and scope of knowledge brought to my list of needed home repairs by each of these Frisch pros was enlightening and gave me a tremendous sense of relief and confidence in their advice and work; so much so that I have since purchased additional work hours from them. Each man was intelligent, eager to complete a job to exacting standards, and a pleasure to work with. As this experience has "spoiled" me, Frisch Construction will definitely be my go-to source in the future for any work around my house.

Work done was good. I had 4 projects that could have been completed during the time period allowed. The company sent someone specializing in electrical when I specifically stated I had carpentry projects. As a result, it took the contractor longer than necessary for each project. Only 2 of 4 items were completed. I had to pay for an additional hour in order for him to complete the 2nd project. Approximately 30 minutes of the time was spent setting up various tools and putting them away.

Overall, I was very happy with my service. All the work was done well and in a reasonable amount of time. The handyman was very nice and accommodating to my requests. He was upfront about needing some extra time beyond the deal amount, but then he surveyed the tasks quickly, got all necessary materials and made good time getting through my list. He found a solution to problem with fitting a trim kit onto my cabinet, rather than telling me all the reasons why it wouldn't work. I was able to communicate with the owner through email, which is great since I am usually in meetings all day and not able to talk on the phone, so I generally don't take phone calls. Also, I was allowed to pay for the extra time and materials by credit card. It amazes me, in 2015, how many service providers in the St. Louis area don't accept credit cards (not an issue in East Coast cities). It was an additional 3% charge to use a card, however the convenience and earned miles make it worth it. I have 1 minor complaint. This provider usually starts at 7am and I told him a 7am start time was too early for me. I requested a later time and was offered 7:30, which wasn't much better, but I will take 30 minutes extra of sleep. Unfortunately, I didn't get it. My doorbell rang promptly at 7 getting me out of bed. I was not prepared (or dressed)....evidently the handyman was not told about the later start time. I would suggest they be more flexible with customer's schedules/needs. I would use them again. I have a couple larger projects in my home and they will be on my list to provide a bid. I have also provided their information to a colleague who needed a handyman who can do quality work.
