Tony and his team are great! They finished up their work for me today and we couldn't be happier. It was a big job including tuckpointing, roof sealing, chimney repair, and plaster work inside. All was done quickly, professionally, and affordably. We had been having terrible water damage coming in every rain after the bad storms last July, and Tony's team cam quickly, worked hard and throughout 2 days and completely repaired our chimney, tuckpointed numerous spots where water was coming in, and repaired all the plaster damage from water on the inside of our living room, entry way, and our child's room. The damage was even more than previously anticipated but Tony and his team took care of it without issue. Will be calling them again soon to repair our steps and walkway. I highly recommend Irish Construction.

I sought a bid from Irish Construction to repair damage on my plaster walls. Anthony, the owner, was very thoughtful and thorough in his evaluation, noting that while he could fix the damaged wall, it would persist if we did not fix an exterior crack that was allowing water to come in. We took this opportunity to contract additional tuck pointing work that I was eyeing around my home. I hired Anthony based on his fair estimate, ability to start the job the next day and overall friendly demeanor. His team arrived the next morning and managed the work with professional purpose. Friendly guys who were all to willing to show me the work as they went along. Anthony was on-site to ensure quality and field my questions along the way. The resulting work was fantastic. I highly recommend Irish Construction.

Tony and his crew were fast, responsive, efficient, professional, and trustworthy. My home is a 100 year brick home that had some concrete steps in need of repair and ancillary tuckpointing. He provided a same day estimate after my request and was out with a crew completing the job the next morning. They completed the job quickly and meticulously with attention to detail. Tony has a true eye for details that matter and makes sure the job is done right. I will be using Irish Construction in the future and would recommend them to friends and family.

Sir, we do not offer drywall and framing as a service. This is a review written by someone who said he would put on bad reviews and have his friends do so as well. We would first like to state that we would never take a deposit because we do not steal money. We always begin work at once. Second we would neither accept money for a service we do not offer or change our phone number.

Fantastic! Tony and his crew showed up on time (huge plus in my book) as promised. The price was fair and they did an efficient and excellent job. The craftsmanship was excellent AND cleanup was very thorough. I'd used Tony 15 years ago for another job and continue to be very pleased with his company's work.

Tony's Irish Construction worked hard and fast and still got our house looking great again. Besides his personal skill with plaster he also pushes his team to do everything right. The key to making me happy was having me check everything until I was satisfied. That is wise because the customer's eyes will see things they won't. If I pointed, they corrected it or cleaned. And cleanup was very good, from beams in the ceiling to sweeping the floor and putting back furniture.

I have used Irish Construction for many projects including tuckpointing, mudjacking and repair of my plaster ceiling. I have been very pleased with all of the work done on these jobs and have submitted 5 star reviews of them. However, I was not so pleased with this concrete work. The concrete is not level and does not fill the entire area. It looks like they ran out of concrete and just stopped working. I was asked to pay for extra concrete, but apparently it wasn't enough. Also, I was told it would lighten and match the concrete around the area, but it has not done so. This may just need more time. I might call Irish for a different type of job, but not for concrete. I was very disappointed.

I am writing this review as objectively as possible to serve as a resource for others. We got burned badly and do not want others to go through the same experience. A few quotes from acquaintances who’ve also previously used Irish Construction that we connected with after to see if they had a similar experience: “We used them several years ago. I would steer clear. I can’t believe they’re still in business.” “We had a terrible, terrible experience. He pressured us into leaving a review before they were done as part of the ‘deal’.” In short: -We paid $16,000; the water problem still exists (and is now worse); it has been a year since Irish Construction first came out to work on the job and we kept getting pushed off. Advice: -Get a contract in writing (that you agree with) before the work starts. -Do not pay in full until the work is completed (allow a heavy rain or two, to ensure no water gets in). -Do not write a review until the work is completed. Details of our experience: -We have a cinder block foundation on our 90+ year old house and moisture was getting through and mildewing our interior plaster walls, so we called Irish Construction to come out to provide a bid. -We had also gotten a few other bids (that were provided to us in writing) and then found Irish Construction via a Google search. -Tony came out July 5, 2021 to give us a bid. He asked if I had anyone else come out and give a bid, and I told him yes, that another well known company came out and said they would remove all existing plaster in the basement, tuckpoint the cinder block, and re-plaster. (again, we have a cinder block foundation and moisture had continued making its way through the existing tuckpointing and was deteriorating the existing plaster). -Tony said he would do the job that the other company quoted but would do it for $2k less and pour concrete around the exterior if I committed that day. He said he had a cancellation and could fit us in, so if I did not commit that day the price would go up if he had to come back out. -Because he said he would do everything the other company quoted for $2k less and could start the next day and had great reviews on Google, we moved forward. -We paid $5K the first day he arrived. Then another $5K in the middle of the job the next day. Then another $6K a few days after that job was finished. We paid $16K to have the basement tuckpointed and stop moisture from coming in. -Tony did not tuckpoint anything; only replastered deteriorated spots, painted the basement with Killz, sprayed concrete on the walls of the coal room and put concrete around the exterior of the house. -Water continued coming in the main part of the basement, as well as the coal room. -We were told the job was going to be spotless when they left – it was far from that. We had to clean ~50 foam tile mats – these covered our basement floor and they didn’t move them (or ask us to move them), our Bowflex weight set that had sitting water and concrete in it, and several other pieces of exercise equipment. They left everything very messy, despite saying it was going to be “exceptionally clean”. -Tony came back out a month later to paint Killz on the walls and fill in several missed spots. -I contacted Tony immediately after (August 25, 2021) because the problem continued, and I had sitting water in my coal room because he covered the French drain and now the water was going directly into the basement (which was not happening before he did the work). The water had previously been directed into the French drain and then into the sump pump, but because they sealed the French drain the water was finding holes and making its way onto our basement floor. -I called and text Tony several times since August to get an update on when he could come back and fix the issues, and I continued to hear excuses: “let’s give it some time to settle” (I had sitting water in my basement), “kid coverage”, “down in Florida a few weeks”, “still down in Florida”, “we’ll get out there soon”, but excuse after excuse and me continually having to follow up, he never came back. -The purpose of having the work done last summer was to make our basement space functional for a kid's playroom, workout gym and storage area. -After following up 12 separate times via text between August 26th (after he came back out and the problem still existed) thru February 17th we decided to no longer postpone our basement projects since it became clear he wasn’t going to come back out to finish the job. Additional notes/context: -Tony and his crew talked openly about family and relationship problems, politics, belittling COVID, etc. These weren’t conversations I overheard, these were things they tried talking to me about. -I have video recordings from my home security system, phone recordings, and a text thread that can be shared to prove everything above. -Again, I tried taking all emotion out of this review, to provide an objective viewpoint, and let other customers decide how they want to proceed.

I have worked for this gentleman, and when I came in the water was pouring in buckets. There was a huge moisture issue here. I advised him that we should put channels on the outside and waterproof 100% and he told me that he intended to sell his house while the market was good and didn't want to invest any further in the home. I've gone back 3 times and touched up this project throughout the covid times. I do not insist that people put on reviews for me and I do not make up homeowner's minds to hire me. I've got excellent reviews and I treat my clients and valued customers the same..with respect. My crew and I give 100% to the homeowners and I advise them with the best thing to do. If they choose not to invest, then I can only do what they are willing to do. We respect the home as well as the homeowner.

BUYER BEWARE!! I can't express enough that you should not use this company but I want to let customers know my experience and you can decide for yourself. I reached out to Irish construction and Tony was out within a couple of hours to do a walk around and provide an estimate which I thought was great. As an fyi, nothing is in writing including a receipt upon completion of the work but that's probably a topic for some local/state/federal agency to look into. I decided to go with Tony because I thought the quote was good, upon initial inspection Irish Construction seemed to have good reviews and he seemed competent. I couldn't be more wrong on all accounts. I hired the company to do some concrete repair around my home and the work was completed on May 15. Unfortunately, I've had nothing but problems with the work since. There was small area of spalling on my front porch, some concrete joints that I wanted filled around my home and other cracks around my home that i wanted patched up. They also repaired some stairs leading to the alley. The work to the front porch immediately cracked and I could see other issues with the work completed. I reached out to Tony on the 5/16 and he responded that he would be in touch to fix. He and his crew showed up on June 1, without so much as a call or text and redid the porch while I was out of town, without consideration that the remainder of the work they completed needed fixing. I followed up with Tony on 6/28 to advise him of the issues with the work and that one of the cracks had actually gotten larger after his crew completed the work. I'm realizing that the company didn't prep the concrete at all to ensure a successful result, they basically just mixed up concrete mix and spread it in the cracks and joints. After some research I'm finding out that's not how its supposed to be done and they are options such as crack sealants that can be used to to match concrete texture and color and provide a more finished look. Tony and his crew showed up today and he attempted to put his crew to work without so much as listening to my issues or what specifically needed to be fixed. I had questions about why the crew didn't prep the cracks and joints and why they didn't use concrete repair and sealant caulk options instead choosing to use concrete mix, which if you don't know is extremely unsightly. Tony tells me that crack sealant, caulk options don't exist for cracks and joints and would leave a stain. If you do some research, this is untrue. I advised Tony that I preferred that he didn't do any work and that I would like some of my money refunded. At this point he became irate, attempted to gaslight me by yelling at me that I was a racist, that I was angry person & discriminating against him b/c he's white (I'm black). He was saying much that I can't even detail it all but let's just say he wouldn't let me get a word in because he was yelling and over talking me. I would like to point out that we're in front of my home, on my extremely quiet, well maintained Tower Grove South street and he's acting erratic. I then asked him to leave because I knew then, Tony had no intention of resolving this amicably. Now if you look at some of the bad reviews its evident that when a customer has a problem with the work that he resorts to insults, yelling, and becoming disagreeable. Take a look, they are there. But what about all the good reviews?!? Well it's no wonder he has a ton of great reviews, he asks customers to submit 4 good reviews for a better deal on the job. However, please look at the bad reviews, and the BBB and then make the choice for yourself. I only hope that I'm able to upload pics and then you make the call but I hope that I can prevent one person from being taken by shotty work, an unprofessional contractor, and having your hard earned money for all intents and purposes, "stolen". It's unfortunate that I may have to resort to legal action.

I was really happy to find them since they could make the repair using original methods. Irish removed the loose and broken pieces and applied a new layer on the front and back of the house that has a nice look that will match the sides. I appreciate that they also made minor repairs along the side of the house instead of totally reworking it. Helps keep costs down. They brought out a crew of five people and they hustle. Poetry in motion. Thanks, Tony!

I have a 100+ year old house and discovered that the chimney--which ran through the center of the house, was leaning, putting stress on the rafters and the overall structural integrity of the house. If nothing was done, then eventually the chimney would collapse with terrible consequences. Because the repair was extremely difficult it seemed impossible to find a company that was even willing to come out and look at the problem firsthand. Anthony Monaghan, owner/director of Irish Construction, was the only one who had the courage, and confidence in his team of workers, to make an assessment, explain exactly what could be done and how, and provide a bid. I offered him the job and he came out with his crew the following Monday. The job turned out to be even more complicated than anticipated, and additional materials were required. Yet Anthony did not add those expenses to the price he bid. His foremost concerns throughout the process were the long-term safety of the homeowner by stabilizing the chimney, and the safety of his workers during the repair process. Would I recommend Irish Construction? Absolutely.

Irish Construction was highly responsive in getting out to us for an estimate after we saw clear signs that previous work done by Morelli was failing. They had no issues working with either me or my wife depending on our availability, and, as a result, had all the work done within days. And when I say, “all the work,” I not only mean that tuckpointing, resealing, and flashing our chimney. They walked the whole house and fixed any and all damaged brick for a set price. And then sealed our driveway same day for a small extra price. Chimney, driveway, brick outer walls all look significantly better! Great professionalism, fast work end to end from first call to completed work, and all for a great deal.

I originally called for a bid on my garage. About 4-7 days later Tony called, said he had a cancellation and he came by. He asked me if I planned on staying in my home or not. I am not sure if this means do a good job or a sloppy one. He asked me on the phone when I first called and the day he came if I was okay with a middle bid I had gotten from a few other contractors. It ranged tremendously $1,300 to $19,000. He could not give me a bid on my garage although he could see I needed the bottom stone foundation tuck pointed on my home. He and I both agreed that this was more important. He said $4,000. I said maybe next week but he replied saying next week it would be $6,000. I got half in cash for his crew to start that day. Although they had a cancellation and probably didn’t plan on working they showed up around 12:45 and started right away. I was not able to see if they dug out any loose mortar on the side of the house or the back. I was doing other things around my home. They finished quickly. Tony asked multiple times if I liked it. I said yes, hoping that after it dries it wouldn’t be so white like paint. I knew nothing about sealant after tuck pointing. I knew what I wanted it to look like. It looks nothing like the other side of my home. I knew the new tuck pointing and sealant had to dry and hoped that it would look like a clearer sealant over the tuck point. Unfortunately, it is so white that it looks like paint on stone which I don’t care for. This is due to lack of communication as I didn’t know that the sealant would look like a white paint. I am not able to see if the work was solid as it was done pretty quickly and painted over with this sealant. The next day I asked Tony if some spots could be filled in. One guy came out and did some spots. Some spots were unnoticed afterwards and there was a rush again this day. I heard that it was the guys day off, he had an argument with his girlfriend, and he said he needed a new girlfriend. Unfortunately this made me feel bad and I decided I wouldn’t point out anything else in regards to my concerns so he could have his day off. A few days afterwards I noticed that when I ran my hand across in some areas that some of the stuff dusted off like sandy areas. Some areas are still off white and still white so I can not see how well it was tuck pointed. I was told to wait til it cured. A week has passed. The old mortar falls out to the touch in spots. It is obvious that the white sealant hides parts of the stone areas that should have been tuck pointed and was not. It is the original loose mortar covered up. The white paint/sealant chips off easily in some spots and loose mortar falls right out. I wish I would have watched what they did but did not think I would of had too. If I knew it would not match the other side of my house I would have told them to stop immediately. I also would not have chosen a line pattern as protruding. The other side of my home has a concave tuck point which is what I would have expected. I will have to have some spots entirely done over (grinded out) which another contractor told me would cost too much. I now have white painted stone on one side and the back of my home that does not match the other side. I don’t believe I would be able to get the white paint/sealant off. I only know when I run my hand across it or poke at it that dust comes off and mortar falls out in quite a few areas and there are obvious spots do not have mortar. Tony insisted, on more then one occasion, to post reviews for charging $3,900, instead of the $4,000 he bid me at. Saving $100 isn’t worth it. I wish I could have posted great reviews as I was looking forward to seeing something professionally done with my stone showing and what I hoped to expect for the price after it cured. I took pictures of it afterwards along with video the day after and the week following as the same problem exists. I also have to repaint the gangway door brown again that I painted a few months ago because the white stuff won’t come off. Iv had a couple contractors come by and tell me it should not have cost that much, when you run your hand across it the dust shouldn’t come off, and mortar should not come out with a poke. They didn’t care for the protruding lines either. Even though after the work was finished Tony mentioned he would give me 30% off the next reasonable contractor bid. I was happy about the 30% off at first, but realized that if I wasn’t pleased the first time and these problems where happening before and after he told me to wait til it cured, the sealant covers the so called work, and looks completely the opposite of the other side of my home, why would I use this company again. Regardless of saving 30% in the future I would not be able to go back and take off the white paint or redo the work without it costing more. Also, I would rather post an honest review. I felt a bit pressured regarding posting reviews because Tony asked multiple times to post on Google, BBB, and Angi’s List. Also, I don’t care for painted stone or brick to me it is a cover up of blemishes, bad tuck pointing, or no tuck pointing in some cases. I wish I would have been asked how I wanted the outcome and there to have been better communication because I live here and have to see this on a regular bases. Pretty unhappy overall. This would not be an easy or cheap fix getting it back to a concave tuck point, unpainted brick and stone, getting loose mortar out and tuck pointed correctly where it is needed. I can handle power washing some sides of the concrete in the gangway and repainting the gangway door again though.
