My name is David B. I live in University City and the Irish Construction company is hands down the best prices. I wish that I had called them first. Tony came to my home and was very straight forward with us. I needed some brick work and some tuck pointing done. When Tony gave us the price I was shocked at how reasonable it was. The crew was very quiet, courteous and quick they cleaned up after themselves. It was unbelievable how simple things are when you have the right person for the job. After I had work done neighbors were so impressed with the quality of work. I referred them to Tony and the Irish Construction company. Tony came out on a Monday AM to give me an estimate, and was able to come back later the same day to complete the job. The plaster wall he fixed looks great. While he has there, we also took him up on his offer to patch some crumbling concrete on our front steps. Would definitely recommend Irish Construction if you have an older house like ours in need of some plaster love.

Tony was very fast to respond to our initial request for an estimate and explained what needed to be done and how it would be done. The project began and finished the day after awarding him the project. We are very pleased with the work.

Stumbled upon Irish after I got a bid to replace the stairs from another contractor. Tony gave me a bid to resurface/repair and completed work within the same week. Showed up when he said he would, he and his crew did great work and cleaned up better than any contractor I’ve had before.

I've had Irish Construction do three jobs for me, and the company has delivered each time. They did cement surface repair, brick tuckpointing and repair of a bathroom wall damaged by water. Tony is very concerned to make the customer happy, and he explains all the steps needed to get the job done, at a fair price. His crew worked quickly, professionally, and did a nice job. Tony patched the crack and coated the entire front slab so that it didn't look like a crack that had been patched. It looks great.

I hired Irish Construction to do some mudjacking, stucco and interior plastering. I got other quotes from other contractors Tony gave me a really good deal for everything I needed. All the projects came out very well. The crew showed up on time and very respectable. I would hire them again and recommend them to anyone.

Not only were the repairs done well and on a timely basis, but the curb appeal if the house was greatly improved with the clean looking foundation and window sills. Tony was very quick to respond and the work was performed quickly. The crew was kind and polite.

Tony and his crew are expert masons. They work fast and complete projects on time. He is very personable and has good communication skills with clients and his crew. Our house had not had any maintenance on the stone work since it was built. He identified repair needed to preserve the integrity of the stone work and provided us alternatives to choose from in getting it repaired. Tony directed his crew in re-tuckpointing areas in need and made sure that it was excellently done. Our home is now watertight and ready for winter this year and years to come. A woodpecker made a hole in one of the dormers and Tony personally plastered the outside walls. This was indeed something I had hoped to get done and he did a better job than I could have. We appreciate the artistry and skills necessary for his profession. He gave good advice and added some personal touches to the project. Irish Construction was not the lowest bid, nor the highest bid, but the care with which Tony approaches the project makes his bid worth every penny you spend. I will definitely use Irish Construction on any future projects.

Tony is always straightforward with you. He tells you upfront what your issues are and what your options are. He is incredibly fast and reliable. His quality of work is outstanding. His price is always reasonable and we are always pleased in the end. We recommend him to everyone and will use him again in the future.

Tony was very easy to reach and came out to the house quickly (same day I believe). He looked over the work and gave a verbal bid. Tony's bid was higher than a well established/trusted local mason (also has top reviews on angies list) who is known to have reasonable but higher end bids. So I was up front and said that I probably would not be using his work. Tony had an opening so he offered me a discounted rate; to spot point other parts of the porch; and to add in a sealant that was going to expire over the winter if not used. Ultimately, I wanted the work done before temperatures remained below freezing and given the significant amount of positive reviews here on angie's list I took him up on the offer and turned down a third bid that was still lower than his discount (but did not include a sealant). Expected start time was 8 and the crew was ready to go by 7:30 (and the job was completed at 12:30). Tony was around giving guidance for the initial work and present intermittently for the duration of the work. The crew was professional throughout the job and cleaned up at the end. Upon review of the work, the mortar joints the crew did were good and will stabilize the pillars. Although they didn't have a raised bead, there are enough parts of the porch with a raised bead that these newer mortar joints without the bead will go unnoticed to the casual observer. Regarding the sealant, it was applied to the entire porch to help keep the appearance more uniform. Tony was very pleased with it but I was hesitant to give a lot of praise because the sealant looks like someone caked mud all over my front porch. The lack of verbal satisfaction was noted by Tony and told me the sealant requires 3-5 days to properly dry. Still, even after he left I was concerned about the appearance and called Tony. He asked me to trust him and reassured me it would look brand new after a couple weeks allowing for the stone face to regain that worn appearance and the mortar line to be more discernible. Tony is a dedicated professional who takes a lot of pride in his work (he added additional cleaning of some of my blocks of limestone so the final result will really stand out). So, I'm trusting his experience on this and rated him as I would a couple weeks from now when he is right. I appreciate the work ethic of his crew and the job they did.

Irish Construction did a great job. Tony came out and gave us a quote the same day I initially called. The team completed our job quickly and professionally. The customer service was excellent and we are very pleased with the results. I would definitely hire this company again.

First, when Mr. Monaghan says he want to do it right and make you happy with his work, believe him. My garage floor was broken and buckled, but they did an excellent job of leveling and patching the floor. Another contractor might have just told me to tear it out and pour a new floor. They also did a nice job on our broken front porch slab; raising one side to get it all level, and filling the crack that had been there before. 5 out of 5!

Tony and his crew were fast, friendly, and did awesome work. I got quoted on a Wednesday and they were done with the work by Friday evening and this was no small job. I can't say enough about the level of craftsmanship in their work. For plastering and concrete resurfacing, you'll find no one better.

I had originally written a very favorable Review of Irish construction. They did work on my front stoop and the steps among other things. Afterward the work looked good and I was happy. However a few months later during the winter the work on the steps began to crumble and to flake and fall apart, when the weather got warm again I called Irish Construction and I was impressed that they sent someone right out to fix it. I was so impressed I wrote a nice review about how they stand behind their work. However, within a few short months the work again began to fall apart. I called them when warm weather came and someone came and fixed it again. I wasn't complaining because I was impressed to see them back up their work, Well, again within a few months it began flaking and c rumbling and falling apart. I called again in warm weather and someone came and fixed it I told him how Impressed I was that they would come back again and he told me they would keep coming back until it was done right. However it began falling apart in a few months, I called Tony and he mentioned there might be a charge for them to come back. I reminded him that each time they did the job it fell apart within a few months and I hoped he would 't charge me since it never lasted more than a few months. He then told me he would send someone out to fix my problem right, I'm sad to say I have waited all summer and heard from no one else, The steps are flaking and crumbling and falling apart. In the end they were never able to do the repairs and make it last more than a few months, I guess they have decided that they just can't repair my steps correctly and have given up trying. So here I sit with stairs to my front door crumbling away, I know that a craftsman cannot guarantee their work forever but I think it should last a few years They never got the repair to last more than a few months, I didn't give them a totally bad review this time because some of the work was done right and has held up nicely and for a while they were responsive but in the end they didn't have the knowledge or craftsman that could fix it and make it last

It went great. He showed up when he said he would, finished on time, and it looks like a new driveway.

We had a plasterer all lined up and ready to work, when a sudden unexpected scheduling conflict occurred. The first plasterer referred us to Tony/Irish construction. I called Tony late in the day on a Thursday and left a message at his office. He called me back within 15 minutes, and an hour later was at our job site! He gave us a bid that very day, and after awarding him the work the next day, he and his crew were on the job the following Monday. Tony and his crew did a great job and performed some extras at no charge. They were extremely nice and polite. My husband enjoyed them so much he brought doughnuts for everyone on the second day!

Quick response, prompt arrival for work, professional stonework, patching and tuck pointing. Tony and his crew were very attentive, did a great job; good communication and cleanup. Heartily recommend.
