We have worked with Irish Construction on several different projects. Tony was quick to respond and get the work done each time. He has worked hard to ensure all of our projects were completed correctly and within a reasonable amount of time. His prices are fair and reasonable. The team left the house spotless after completing some plaster work.

At their request, we emailed them pictures of the work we needed completed. When they called afterwards, they immediately asked how much other companies had bidded. I told them, they matched the bid and said they could come the next day. The next day did not work for me. I was also waiting for another estimate and wanted to make my decision after getting the other estimate. I told him this. I called back once I got the 3rd estimate, and he doubled the price of his original estimate. I chose not to work with him.

We did price match what other companies offered for similar work, but costs went up as requests for additional work was added on. We suggested that the customer could find someone else to better serve her needs, and we hope that she found someone that could help her out.

The office staff was extremely helpful listened to my needs for my house and from that was able to send the right guy for the job within 24 hours, Tony was extremely professional and upon completion he took me around to the job to show me the work had been completed. Very professional in my opinion I will definitely refer my family and friends in the future, and not to mention his pricing was unbelievable and in my budget....Thank you Irish Construction for doing a job I didn’t think could be done without costing me a fortune

Tony came out and gave an estimate free of charge. He was straightforward, respectful and prompt. We agreed to do the job the following day, and he arrived with his crew bright and early. Everyone was polite and efficient. They worked hard without breaks and got the job done in less than three hours. They were happy to explain everything to me as they were doing it. Tony was particularly proud to show me the leveling of the paver, as it turned out to be about a foot thick. It was an impressive sight to see him jacking it up and then filling in the hole, jack and all, with hydraulic concrete. After they finished the job, they went through and cleaned up after themselves, borrowing our vacuum cleaner and then washing the floors by hand with vinegar to remove any spilled plaster or plaster dust. In the end, the plaster that was replaced is smoother and better looking than anywhere else in the house. The stucco is repaired without losing its texture or looking like it was patched. And, of course, the patio paver is leveled and no longer looks like it's about to go sliding down the hill. I would strongly recommend Tony and his crew for any work you have involving plaster, stucco or masonry. Living in a 100 year old house, I'm sure that I will need some repairwork again in the future and I'll give Tony a call to do it.

Terrible. First, they showed up to my house and did not even bring a tall enough ladder to complete the job. I let them use my nice ladder which they got concrete all over. Not a big deal to most people, but I paid close to $700 for that Little Giant Hyperlite ladder with the adjustable legs and it was in great condition. Not anymore. The job was for them to replace stones that had fallen off the chimney outside at the top. They were also to redo the capping at the top. When they were done the first time all they did was put some concrete on the top and tried to carve it to make it look like stone. It was so badly done that I flew my drone up to get a better look and that's when I noticed that they never even touched the top like they were supposed to do. I called Tony and he tried to give me some bull stating that the concrete will start to blend in after a few weeks. I told him that is not what the job was for and that he was to replace the stones. He quickly said ok and said he would send the guys back out. The second time out they brought a ladder. The second time was done with stones. Still was not perfect but I was done dealing with teh company so I let it go. I never even complained about them getting concrete all over my ladder. I just wanted to be done with them. Now fast forward a couple of months and we had a bunch of snow. When it started to melt water was pouring into my house. I was not sure what the issue was until the snow all melted and I got onto the roof. There is a hole in the valley. The hole was covered mostly with concrete. I have had no other contractors on my roof working with concrete. They had a ladder on my roof and it looks like the foot of the ladder damaged the shingles and instead of telling me so I could fix it the right way they put concrete over it. I was not happy about this. I called, text, and emailed Tony that I wanted his insurance information and he refused to give it to me. He said that it was not due to his guys because they were out here so long ago and it never leaked until now. I am posting a picture of the concrete over the hole. If you notice you can see the hole at the bottom of the concrete. In a typical rain, the water flowed over the concrete and did not enter the hole and if it did it was not enough for me to notice inside. Now when it snowed 8" and then started to melt it went into that hole and a lot. Tony refuses to give me his insurance information and said I needed to prove to him that his guys caused the damages. I told him that is what his insurance was to do. They are to come out and determine whether or not he is at fault. He still refused to give me his information and there is no way to find it out. My options are to file a claim with my own insurance or seek legal action. I just want his insurance information so an adjuster can investigate this and we go from there. He is very unprofessional about this situation and had me extremely livid. I am posting everywhere I can in hopes that he does the right thing and sends me the information that is requested.

I try to be professional with all my clients. It very difficult to deal with someone who doesn't wait for a response and get the facts clear, blaming me and my crew for something we didn't do, I try to keep my clients 100% happy. He had no problem with the work initially . Something that was done almost a year ago hasn't leaked till now and its very hard to believe that it was caused by me since we have had so much rain in the past year. He seems to be very frustrated about something and its not my work, if he asked me to come look or send me a photo of the damage I would have come to look at it. We treat all my customers with 100% satisfaction and rated number #1 with the BBB

The first time Tony came to our home, he and his crew were ready to do the work right away, but we were just looking for an estimate. However, Tony called back a week or so later, to let me know they had a cancellation in case we wanted them for the job. At that point, we had talked with several contractors and decided that Irish Construction's price and proposed work were the best choice for us. I really appreciated him keeping us in mind, and following up the way he did. They came out this morning and were done within 2 hours. Very efficient, hard working, and communicative. Our sidewalk looks much cleaner, and I'm hoping the porch repair solves our water problem.

Great service! Owner Anthony Monaghan came out personally and was very helpful and knowledgeable. As a first-time homeowner, I was grateful for all the explanations he and his workers provided. They were very professional and showed us their progress periodically so we knew exactly what was being done. They were done with the job in a timely manner and did a great cleanup after everything was done. Mr. Monaghan also did some work for my neighbor while they were there. He was very kind and professional.

Kudos to Tony Monaghan and the Irish Construction crew! Tony came to my place on Friday to give me an estimate. I explained my other estimates and we negotiated an agreeable deal. To make things even better he was able to get the job done the next day which I really was not expecting. Kevin and Joe were very friendly and conscientious, and did a great job tuck pointing and repairing my chimney and cap, and some other spots around my brick house.

I called several companies for bids on tuck pointing. It's probably a busy time of year, but Irish Construction was the first (and only) of the companies contacted to respond. They got back to me quickly and set up an appointment for an estimate. Tony came out on Friday afternoon to bid the job. He said they had some time the next day and could give a better price than if they had to schedule the work out since he was trying to fill up the day for his workers (I'd seen similar comments from other reviews on here and half expected it). Would have preferred to have had a few other bids for comparison first, but I had been putting this off for a while so went ahead and scheduled. The guys showed up right on time the next morning, were very friendly and got right to work. Tony came out with them to get them started/show them what had been discussed and he fixed the front of my porch while the other guys worked on the tuck pointing. They knocked the job out in a couple of hours and cleaned everything up. They covered a non-working chimney at no extra charge since they were up there to keep critters out. Quick resolution, easy to work with.
Excellent job all around. Work was completed in one day. Crew arrived early and worked throughout the day to complete the project by the evening. Tony came back two days later to inspect after the concrete set and to ensure that project met our expectations. Would strongly recommend Irish Construction!

Overall, my experience with Tony, Shelby, and Kevin was a good one. I come away from it thinking that it was one of the more unusual contractor experiences I've had. I'll be keeping on eye on the quality of the work and will update if necessary. I think as long as you approach Irish and their team with the right mindset, you will be happy with the result in the areas that really matter - getting your house fixed, quickly, and for a reasonable price. That is how I feel about it, and that's the main takeaway. The big pros of my experience with Irish and Tony were that they were extremely responsive - Tony came by at 6:30 PM on Tuesday night, gave me an estimate on the spot, and said he could be there the next day if I could commit since he had a cancellation. Based on other reviews, in retrospect I believe this “quick commitment” pattern is fairly typical. On the one hand, looking back, it was great that we were able to get an issue that would have taken weeks of back and forth with other contractors done so quickly. On the other, in the moment I felt like I was under time pressure for a decision. He wanted a deposit right then and there without a written contract. In the end he agreed to just show up slightly later on the next day and I had a written (although not very specific) proposal when his secretary got in and all payments were collected at completion. Ultimately Tony seemed confident that he could repair the chimneys when another contractor was insisting on full rebuilds for six times the price, and based on Irish's history in St Louis I decided to go for it. At the job, Tony's crew of Shelby and Kevin were super friendly, and they worked quickly and focused. My impression of their work was that they are no-nonsense and are interested in getting the job done fast and without any wasted effort. They get done what they think is important to get done and don't do what they don't think is important. My personal look at photos and the work made me think that it looked fine and will do the job of keeping the structure sound and water out, but I am not educated in masonry at all and so time will tell if this expedience had any impact on quality. But given my experience with other contractors trying to upsell me at eye-popping cost for work or items where I have no idea if they are really necessary (and I suspect not), I think I can handle that uncertainty. Once the main part of the job was done, Tony advised me of several other spots of the structure that he thought were in urgent need of spot tuckpointing. We agreed to a price on the spot and he completed that work as well. In fact, he began work on part of it before asking me about it. Again, this was another situation where the end result was good but the process of getting there was intense in the moment and time-sensitive. Ultimately, I got some urgent areas of my house addressed for what I believe to be a fair price without any waiting around. So in the end, I would recommend Irish. Just be ready to be asked to make decisions quickly on the price, timing, and quality evaluation of the work. My experience was that this is an organization and owner that wants to move fast.

I saw an Irish Construction sign in my neighbors yard and figured I would call and get a quote. They came the same day I called (9/19/19) and gave me a quote I couldn't turn down. I agreed and they were out the next morning (9/20/19) working on the tuck pointing areas we had talked about. Once his crew arrived they noticed a few minor areas that needed some attention which they took care of for a very reasonable price. I would absolutely hire Anthony and his crew again.
