I will never buy GE again. The refrigerator had I think a two year warranty and it didn't really bother me because I have had GE all my life and I never had a problem. I had a solenoid go out in my refrigerator on Thanksgiving day. It was the most horrible smell. So I had to have that fixed. Then I have to start and stop my ice maker once it's full of ice. I hate that. A plumber installed the dishwasher and the electricians installed the microwave and stove. With the refrigerator, all you had to do was plug that in. They did do the delivery. I don't remember if they just set them in the garage or if they put them in the house. I think they just put them in the garage. The salesman was really good. He thought of things that I didn't even think of. I think the price was reasonable. Whenever I have an appliance, I don't call the store if I need a repairman. I call the company. Like if it's GE I call GE, because there is a big difference in quality or technical knowledge of a repairman from Home Depot compared to a repairman from General Electric. That's who I always call. I don't use companies I don't like. They were prompt. I think Home Depot is a good company.
Description of Work: I purchased a new GE refrigerator, a GE dishwasher, a GE stove, and a GE microwave.

at the time of purchase i felt we were getting a very good deal. after 10months i find chips flaking away in places. one board had to be replaced, which was no problem since the installers came out and did it for free. i would not recommend the wood we choose but i will continue to shop at HD.
Description of Work: we bought the wood-flooring at home Depot. No other services preformed.

It's a very friendly store and you have no problem getting what you need. They'll help you find it if you can't find it. We spent a little over $150.
Description of Work: I used Home Depo to purchase bathroom fixtures about 3 months ago. We installed them ourselves. We bought a door for our shower.

We contracted with Home Depot for a kitchen remodel via their general manager Hallmark. We were satisfied with the final product but had a very negative experience. A subcontractor failed to properly install a gas line to our new stove and created a gas leak .A family member discovered the leak and notified the general contractor, the subs and the local gas company. The subs returned and could not detect the leak. The local gas company did discover a leak in the hose the subs installed and it was corrected. We approached Home Depot several times (at several levels) requesting a reasonable contract adjustment (we asked for 15% of labor costs) which they refused. During our appeal to their corporate office, the local store manager denied the incident ever happened until we documented it via local gas company records. We will NEVER shop at Home Depot again.

The kitchen cabinets are beautiful. BUT, the installers had to return 3 times before the cabinets were correctly installed. There was a good deal of anxiety during that procedure. We were told it was our fault that the cabinets were measured incorrectly (the kitchen was professionally measured by the Hallmark, the installers). We were told we would have to purchase a new cabinet that would fit, but we would not be able to return the cabinet that did not fit. We were in constant contact with the Home Depot Salesman to try to get this corrected. On the final try of installation, the installers did admit that the cabinets would fit. After much grumbling, they were installed and we now love the kitchen. The two installers who worked in our home informed us that they had over 20 years of experience between them. I am wondering if their experience lead them to believe they could install without the use of a level or tape measure. They just started nailing cabinets to the wall and miscalculated the width of the corner sink cabinet. The job supervisor, who did appear for a few minutes on two occasions, seemed to be a nice man. Home Depot charged over $100 to have my floor protected during cabinet installation, and also another $100+ to dispose of the cardboard boxes the cabinets were delivered in. The installers cut a few of the boxes, laid them flat on the floor and called that protection. We disposed of all the boxes the cabinets were delivered in and requested a refund for those 2 services. The job foreman said he was informed Home Depot and "the check is in the mail." We called several times but still have not received the check. On the flooring installation (Hallmark), we personally put down a new subfloor, but the floor installer said he was required to put down another subfloor on top of our new subfloor before he would install the vinyl. He did a quick and beautiful job, but the redundant subfloor and additional cost is an oddity which I am not pleased about. The floor installer was professional and courteous. ADDENDUM: JOB Finished. Got the check. Cabinets are gorgeous, floor is beautiful, Kitchen is fabulous. Long haul but worth it.
Description of Work: Purchased kitchen cabinets, hardware and flooring from Home Depot. Home Depot coordinated the installation of the kitchen cabinets and flooring through subcontractors.

Home Depot was one of the few places from where we got an estimate and the price was right. They delivered the shingles and did a super good job, it was clean. They showed up about 10.30 in the morning and by 3.30 in the afternoon they were gone. They dropped their tools the day before and so got to work as soon as they got in the next day. I haven’t had any problems with my roof and I am very pleased with it. There was nothing left and they did a very good clean up. I would use them again if need be.
Description of Work: Home Depot did a complete tear off of our roof and also replaced the sub roofing.

The carpet was installed poorly. The workers weren't very good at their job. A different set of workers came to fix the installation. A year later, a section got caught in the vacuum & quickly began unraveling, leaving a gap. There were many areas where the seams met & the fibers were popping up out of place. Inspectors came & determined the install had been faulty. I wanted a refund but Home Depot would not give full value so we crossed our fingers & tried again. New carpet was installed. There are areas where the carpet almost doesn't meet the wall. This was a bad experience for us.
Description of Work: New carpet was installed in a finished basement.

I paid $30 for guy to come to my home to measure doorway. Home Depot called a week later and said they couldn't do the job because the doorway was crooked. I was told the $30 was non-refundable, but I did go in to the store and got the $30 refunded. I was not too happy I had to go in to the store again and that the job wasn't done. All a big hassle.
