Description of Work: During our first appointment, we received very good service from the plumber. He was professional and straight forward. He arrived on time, and he completed the job in a few hours. With the Angie's List discount, the job totaled to approximately $200. He worked on the spout on the bath tub, which wouldn't fasten on after my husband had removed it to replace it. He couldn't get it back on, and the tub continued to leak. This included the the home walk-through inspection, which he gave estimates for each potential job in the future. He said that there would be an additional discount if any of these estimated jobs were completed in conjunction to the requested one. He also said it could be combined and completed at a discounted rate in the future. However, during our second appointment, we used their service for a clogged drain in the kitchen sink. This wasn't the same plumber as the first appointment. Anyway, he basically just unclogged it in about an hour or less. During this time, he kept negotiating the price. First, it would be an additional $200 to do this necessary "extra" job. Then, he said, what about $150? Then, it was what about $100? My husband still said no because it was already going to cost us $250 just to unclog the sink, which did not take long at all. So, finally, he said, what about $50? My husband agreed to that amount. This kind of negotiating made me wonder how much they were gouging us on the jobs. Strangely, it cost us more to fix the second job, which took a lot less time and effort than the first one. Then, to make matters worse, Rivers Plumbing kept calling and leaving messages, following up on the other jobs that they gave estimates on, to secure future appointments. They call frequently, and it's very annoying and not appreciated at all. Unfortunately, the second appointment, the bargaining of inflated prices of jobs, and harassing sales calls have turned us off completely. We will not be using their services in the future. We do not recommend them. Apparently, they like to gouge their customers. It's awfully suspicious when the plumber can negotiate from $200 to $50!? So, basically, if we would have said yes to the $200 charge, we could have gotten it for $50 if we had said no, which fortunately we did, but still, this made us think that this company is dishonest.
