The rating above are based on the proposal I received from Hoffmann Bros. Although I ended up selecting a different contractor, Joe Hoffmann (a real-life mechanical engineer, not a sales hack) put together an excellent proposal. The quote was complete and competitive. I plan to recommend that my neighbor obtain a quote from Hoffmann Bros. when they replace their hvac system.

They were expensive. We would not use them again because of the price.

Excellent. They're expensive but it's worth it cause they really. I think that they are the most reliable. And I just think that they are really pleasant and they are clear and all they guys that have been to the house have been really great, really nice, you know polite, they're clean.

Not so well. After a brief look, I was told that the unit needed a very expensive repair ($6000). I called to talk to someone at the main office, hoping for an explanation. The only reason I got was that "in 2 years you'll have to replace it anyway," with no description of the problem. I was told that someone else would call me to talk about it. I did not get this call, and my future calls to them were not returned. I ended up calling a different company to do the work. Hoffmann charged me $95 just for the opportunity to try to sell me an expensive renovation to my a/c system.

Ok, Showed up on time. Seemed competent. Charged way to much for a minor service. $95 for just showing up, another $100 to change a filter and zip tie a drain hose.

Perfect! Actually they were able to send Danielle out on a Saturday to give us an assessment. Don came the next week and quickly cleared drains, Danielle later that week to install faucets and valves. Up front pricing, quality work, friendly technicians, good communication with front office. We will use them now for some electrical work. All-in-one company!

The city of Florissant had a grant program for heating. Because I had a furnace that was only seven years old and had blown four inducer motors I applied. Furthermore, I didn't have heat in the front of the house, only in the bedrooms. I was hoping that through this program perhaps I would finally have an answer to my heating problems as previous companies were blaming my cleaning of air duct filters. I applied for it and had to accumulate three estimates. The first one I received was from Hoffmann Brothers. Scott Moore came out and talked with me about all of the previous work and the results that had been done. He followed that up with checking out the attic area where the furnace is. When finished he came and talked with me again explaining that the ductwork had all collapsed. We also discussed having a technician come out and do a thorough inspection of the furnace to see if he could find anything to support the loss of four inducer motors first. I did have the inspection done and the gentleman could find no reason for the previous problems. The decision was made perhaps with new ductwork I would have heat. There were tweaks that had to be made as the registers are in the upper part of the walls. When the furnace was put in it was originally hooked up to existing air conditioning ductwork, not heating ductwork because the house had radiant heat that sprang a leak "somewhere." I applaud the two gentlemen that put in the new ductwork. There were times they had to be on their backs or knees to do some of the work. Moreover, they never carried any insulation or dirt into my house when they had to come inside. They wore jumpsuits and bootie covers over their clothing which they changed constantly. There was NEVER a person I talked with who talked down to me. They treated me with respect and like a friend. There was no sign of what had been done anywhere when they left. Mr. Moore came and once again talked with me asking my opinion after all the work was finished. Hoffmann Brothers has now branched out into plumbing and electrical as well. I am happy to know that I have a company that will stand by their work and help me by doing the best job possible in the shortest amount of time.

They answered an emergency call when eight other companies that advertised as emergency services would not. I will definitely hire them again.

OUTSTANDING!!! We are in the process of moving and upon home inspection found a couple of problems. Really on a time crunch and were pretty much at the mercy of a plumber to get things fixed fast. We had 2 separate issues so had 2 different workers on 2 separate dates come out. Not only were both workers extremely professional, punctual and polite they went out of their way to help us and not price gouge us. We have had numerous inspectors and repairmen in the house over the last month and Hoffmann Brothers was by far the very best to deal with.

Scott was very professional. He called in advance to confirm the appointment and arrived promptly. He described the process to install the units inside and out of our home. He asked a few questions to gain an understanding of what we wanted. Provided me with a brochure for Mitsubishi M Series single zone system. It did not provide pricing. He then provided a quote via email within an hour of leaving our home. I was very impressed with everything UNTIL I asked for a cost breakdown instead of the all inclusive flat fee amount. We did not want an expensive system in such a small room. Just wanted to have a fairly comfortable temperature in the room year round. He refused to provide cost breakdown citing confidential pricing. 11 months ago (with a different company), we paid $10k for an entire high efficiency HVAC system to heat and cool our entire home. Why would we pay $6180 for one room??? The quote had no equipment options and frankly, someone who plays I-have-a-secret when it comes to what they plan to charge me, I do not trust them. Because we felt the quote was too high and we just did not trust the secretive business practice, we decided not to hire Hoffmann Brothers to do the job. We will continue our search for a trustworthy company. It all comes down to trust, quality and price.

Horrible! My AC unit received damage in the April 2015 hail storm. All i needed was someone to come out and determine if the outside of the unit could be combed or if not, i'll replace the unit. They refused to send someone out unless i paid $95. What a scam! I contacted their competitor and they were more than happy to come out and look at the job for no charge. Either way I was going to hire them to comb the outside of the unit or replace it. And I was also going to have the heating unit done too. Your loss. I?ve had a lot of work done on the house this year and NO ONE ever asked for a fee to come see the job and determine the best course of action. Hoffman Brothers is a joke!

It was a very pleasant experience after a terrible experience with Trinity heating and Cooling (see posted review for details). Mike. H. was very professional, knowledgeable and honest plumber. Diagnosed the problem, fixed it correctly and efficiently. Would recommend Hoffman brothers highly and would consult again for sure if needed.

Let me start by saying that I have never left a review for a service company. I generally feel like I don't have time to do stuff like this but Hoffman Bros did such a great job, I felt like I really needed to recognize them publicly. I have NO affiliation with Hoffman Bros. I don't work for the company or have a friend/relative who works for the company. I'm getting NO discount for doing this review. I have absolutely NO incentive to give them a glowing review. Now that I've given you my disclaimers, the review: Starting from the bid process for both projects, I was very impressed. I worked with Nick Schramm who is their residential sales manager. Nick came out to our house very promptly after I called him for both projects. He did a thorough investigation of my current setup, listened to exactly what I wanted, answered all my questions, and put together great detailed bids with several options based on various equipment possibilities. He emailed me these detailed bids the day after he was at the house. There was no pressure. He didn't try to "hard sell" me something I didn't want or need. The install team was great for both projects! The arrived EXACTLY when they said they would. They worked hard all day and finished both projects right on time. All the Hoffman Bros employees who were at our house were very friendly and knowledgable. My wife and I were so impressed that we switched our HVAC maintenance to Hoffman Bros and we both agree that when it's time to replace the original HVAC unit in the basement, Hoffman Bros will do it.

We had a circuit constantly trip on a Saturday night - we didn't know what was wrong or how serious it was. We were afraid of fire. We were really in an emergency situation because we were leaving on a bus tour early Monday morning and needed to get the situation fixed before leaving. We were leaving our animals in the house in the care of a petsitter that would look in on them several times a day. We did not want to leave them in a dangerous situation, plus we also wanted the outside lights on while were were gone. We did not know if we would have to cancel the trip and lose thousands of dollars or not. I had called about eight other companies that reportedly did emergency service but not one called me back. I finally remembered that Hoffmann Bros. now did electrical work. We had used them for major plumbing and sewer work and they had done a fantastic job so I gave them a call. A real person answered the phone, took my info, and told me a technician would call me back. Within minutes I received a call from a technician. He told me there was no danger of fire as the circuit had tripped so we were okay for that night. He also made an appt. with me to come the next day. He knew our desperation. He came on time, fixed the immediate problem and told us what we would need down the road to prevent it from happening again. We plan on hiring him again to do this more permanent job. He did so much to relieve our stress and we were able to go on our trip without any worry. I highly recommend this company and their responsiveness. They understand the term 'emergency', unlike the other eight companies.

We had just come home from a 2 week vacation only to find that the AC was not working. We also came home on a Holiday weekend so no one was answering the phone and our home warranty company would be unable to have someone out to the house for 4 days. It was over 95 degrees outside and 90 in the house. I called Hoffman brothers and within 20 minutes had a call back and a technician, Mike, out to the house within the hour. He checked it out, resolved the issue and our AC was up and running again. Very happy with the entire experience.

Great job and I'm very satisfied with their work. Although I had requested additional work beyond those items noted above, they recommend waiting and took the time to explain why. I really appreciated their honesty and frankly, their decision to defer work when practical. Many would not. Before I praise them too much, however, let me pass along the bad news: they charged $65 to come out to assess the situation in order to determine what work had to be done. While I can appreciate their interest in discouraging people who waste their time with requesting estimates, I would have liked to see this charge waived once I hired them to perform the work. Also, the amount listed above does not include their water shutoff charge since that was only applicable because the work was performed in a high ride condo. The good news: Outstanding service and excellent quality. First off, they obtained replacement parts for a 53 year old shower valve!!! That alone was worth the cost as it prevented a mini-bathroom remodel! They were very timely and accurate with their estimates, very pleasant to deal with and addressed all my questions satisfactorily. They also took the time to point out areas of concern which may result in future issues.

Gerry came promptly when scheduled. He assessed the system and told me that we had fried our control board. He contacted a local parts warehouse and installed the part in roughly 2 hours. Thanks for all the help.

They were 3 hrs late showing up. We ended up hiring them I believe. It was because we called and talked to 3 different companies. We were quoted one price for labor but actually they sent two people out so the labor rate doubled. But we were without air conditioning and it was 96 degrees with a heating depth of 105 so we just ended up paying for them to do it. You are just catching me at a really bad time because that was just not a great experience at all. They came out on a Saturday. I believe they came out on the 8th, we scheduled them Friday the 7th and that is when they were late. It was right around $800 and especially when we were estimating it to be around $400-$500. They were professional and did what they were supposed to do. I felt that the second technician that actually doubled the labor rate was really necessary. He stood around a lot. He would check a few things but basically the one guy that was doing the work was working the whole time and the other guy was kind of meandering between the ac unit outside, to the truck and back to the one inside. But when your house is 90 degrees and it has been like that for two days, you are just kind of like, 'Just fix it and go'. I believe they did very quality work. It was 3hours with no phone call. They were like, oh, he is on his way. I called an hour later they were like, oh he got hung up but we are sending out this guy now. They didn't contact me. I had to keep contacting them to find out where they were.

This was the second attempt to get an estimate from them. We had previously been customers of Rivers Plumbing which they b ought out. The first appointment after waiting for half a day I called and no one knew why the tech never showed up and then wanted to reschedule. . I already wasted one day. Finally had another appointment on 7/15/2015 and promised on that Weds. to have estimate by that Friday. We never heard again from Christian. I waste 2 days but never received an estimate. We were looking to have this done asap. This company is very unprofessional.

When our A/C went out on the hottest (so far) day of the year and our Home Warranty folks let us down, we called Hoffman Brothers. When we bought our house, we had the seller inspect the HVAC system, Hoffman Brothers came out then and told us "yeah you probably won't get many years out of this system." ...So we knew we'd have problems down the line. I trusted them the first time, so I trusted them again. I submitted a claim for our A/C on July 13 with our Home Warranty. I won't name what company they referred us to, but that company never called us. When we attempted to call them 3-4 times after several hours, we got no answer. At that time, we decided it was worth it to pay full price just to get it fixed in a timely manner. Hoffman Brothers called us back around noon and said they'd put us on their list for either that evening or the next day. By 5:00 that day, they were at my door. It took them a very short amount of time to find what was wrong and we had A/C again! I am always surprised at how efficient, professional, and thorough they are. Would definitely recommend and use again!

We called to have to come check out my grandparents home about the lines and the lady said that they don't service lincoln county when they state on here that they do.

He bent the front of my AC unit and said that there was nothing he could do to fix it I would have to replace the unit. I was charged 100.00 to have him tell me that and then I found out that for 35.00 I just needed a new fan which I did myself and the AC unit still works just fine. When I told him that it looks like it just needs a new fan he said oh ya I guess I could do that for around 350.00. RUN FAR RUN FAST FROM THIS COMPANY. One of the worst company's ever because I am a female they thought that I was too stupid to look at the AC unit myself. Well I should have looked at it before I called this company and let them steel 100.00 from me. I work hard for my money and I will let everyone I know what a horrible company this is and stay away from them.

Response time from my first call to the plumber arriving at the house was just under 1 hour. John quickly assessed what the real problem was--a clogged drain--and cleared it. He also provided information about what could be done as a long term fix to the causes of the problem. I am extremely satisfied with the response to what I thought was an emergency situation as well as the professionalism with how the problem was handled.

John came promptly at 8 A>M> only glitch is that they had written down the wrong phone number so I didn't get a call first. He was so polite and wore booties to keep the floors clean. Took about an hour to get the new one in and he explained how to change the filter when needed to prolong the life of the machine. He also asked if we wanted to join their special annual program which gives discounts and inspections for a reasonable amount. LOVE this company and their work force.
