Ross arrived on time with his shoe covers ready to be put on, I didn't have to ask. He was very pleasant and professional and I felt he did a thorough job. He even made a simple adjustment to make my water get hotter and no charge !

It was a very interesting day since I had a water company at the house at the same time. The Rivers rep checked the water and found that the chlorine levels were off the chart. (The water man hadn't even bothered to CHECK the levels). The Rivers rep got into a little bit of a disagreement about the levels and how they should be treated. He was really looking out for me! (I ended up firing that water company). Then he found that there were no shut off valves under ANY of our sinks and spent the rest of the day installing them. The work was done promptly, professionally and at a very reasonable price. He even called to make sure my water levels were accurate after the water man follow up)!! VERY VERY impressed and I will most definitely use Rivers again!!!

They were very professional to the person who answers the phone to the plumbers who came to my home.

Work went well. He removed the old pipe, sweated the new one on. Checked all for leaks. He was concerned with the surrounding insulation and wiring, that he might have problems with the torch. He was able to do all the work and not burn anything. He knocked 10% off because it was an easier job than he expected. Afterwards, he offered to check any other plumbing concerns as part of the service. Very professional.

They were on time, completed the work in one day and cleaned up the mess. I thought the price was a little exorbitant, but he was able to respond quickly.

Ross was on time and professional. He explained everything to me as he was doing the inspection. He explained to me what needed to be done in three different phases.

There response time was very quick, they explain the price and they work quickly and cleanly. I am very satisfied.

We have used them only once. We moved from another service provider and the men who came out were very professional, very knowledgeable, punctual, polite, uniformed, and clean. Price wise I do not know how to compare that they are the same as everybody else. We will continue to use them in the future.

I purchased this angie's list "big deal" for a simple adjustment I needed done for my shower handle, house inspection, and to try to establish a relationship with an honest and fair plumbing company. They were quick to call after I purchased the deal (which I appreciated) and we set up a date for the service call and house inspection for 2/29/2012 between 4-6 PM. I had also sent an e-mail to Crystal in the office to explain the hot water issue with my shower. I was home waiting from 4-6 PM for someone from Rivers Plumbing Company to come. At about 5:30, I received an awkward phone call from a man who said he was a plumber calling to resolve my heating issue. He had my name, address, the work that needed to be performed, and was within the time frame from when Rivers Plumbing was supposed to come. He said that I sent him a text and he said he was not from Rivers Plumbing. I never sent a text to any plumber, so I knew something shady was going on and told him not to come. I immediately looked up the number he had called from and it was from a "Jeff Huffman" who was an insurance and journeyman plumber. Rivers Plumbing called at 6:10 PM and said they were running late and a technician would be there shortly. I asked who this "Jeff Huffman" was and how he got my information. She let me know that he was a former employee of Rivers Plumbing and so I requested that she let the owner, Eric Rios, know about this and asked for him to call me back with an explanation for how this other plumber got all my information. Ross the technician arrived about 6:30 PM and performed the services listed above. The technician did a great job, quickly adjusted my shower, and let me know the condition of the plumbing in my house. The angie's list coupon covered services provided. Based on the work performed by Ross, I would be calling Rivers Plumbing again. I did not receive a call from Eric Rios about how this former or rogue employee got all my information. I expect to have an answer for how and why this happened if there is to be any trust in this company. Living near the city in a highly urban area, I do not take safety and confidential information given out lightly. I am thankful it was me and not my wife who was waiting for the plumber this time. I expect the highest degree of professionalism when dealing with any contractor and this experience was weird, scary, and very, very disappointing.

The plumber was very prompt, very courteous and friendly.

Came when he said he would, understood my concern about the weather situation, assessed my sump problem, and made recommendations for solving the problem on the initial visit. Installed a new pump on the return visit.

After reviewing plumbing companies on Angie's List, called Rivers Plumbing as, once again, no water was coming from our new "touch technology" kitchen faucet. Michelle was very courteous and went the extra mile to find one of their plumbers who had experience with this type of faucet. She called me back with an appointment time. Ben arrived as scheduled, identified the problem and had the water running in no time. He was very prompt, informative and courteous. Also, at my request, he consulted the instruction manual as to how to bypass the "touch technology" and make the faucet work "manually". Again, job done quickly and effeciently. I highly recommend Rivers Plumbing and will not hesitate to call them again; however, would never recommend the "touch technology" faucets.

Plumber on time, did not have part we needed off, to get it extra $30.00 we were told prices in advance and accepted. Recommend to pull on plastic or paper bottles during service.

They were excellent! Very professional, thorough, knowledgable, competent, and I can't say enough good things about the individual who came out.

Rivers came to address several issues in two bathrooms. They were very nice and where they worked they kept very clean. On the first day, they replaced a few parts and explained to me how I could do some things myself, which I greatly appreciated. I was supposed to receive a discount for mentioning their ad but I did not. The description of work was very detailed, which I also appreciated. My invoice clearly states "(1) Unclog master bath tub - drains cleaned & running great." AND "(5) Every drain cleaned and tested." Not exactly. The next morning I called and got someone else from there to come out the next afternoon. I did receive the $50 off that service call but still had to pay $155 to cable out the drains in the master bath that were supposedly cabled out the prior afternoon. The office told me and the invoice states there is "no warranty on drain or sewer cleaning." Not even for an hour. The second technician helped me figure out that their previous diagnosis for one of our leaky faucets was incorrect and that I had to contact the manufacturer who did send me the correct parts. Not completely terrible, but I'm not going to call them first and won't have any work done without a guarantee. If you use them make sure to (a) specify whether you need a true plumber or if a technician is acceptable, and (b) have them show you that the drains are draining and equipment is working properly before they step a foot out the door.

Always make sure to get at least 2 or 3 different companies to look at your problem.

To say I am beyond thrilled would be an understatement. I actually did a happy dance in the middle of my kitchen based on the quality of his work. Ask my family-- that does not happen very often. He showed me the prices for all the work before any took place and educated me thoroughly on what would need to be done. In the course of fixing my toilet, Ben heard that my dishwasher wasn't working and did a quick check and was able to fix it. All in all, he was here for about an hour, cleaned up after himself and left my house (and myself) much better than when he arrived. I would definitely suggest Rivers (and especially Ben) to anyone considering any work done at their house. I will keep their card with his name written on it on my fridge for a long time to come.

The estimate was less than I was expecting given the complexity of opening a wall behind kitchen base cabinets. Tim did a good job installing the new pvc all the way to the basement. Was careful not to make a mess and vacuumed up at the end of the job. I would use Rivers again without hesitation.

Excellent service. Everything went well and we are very happy with the work. Great to have working faucets again.

Jeff the plumber came promptly on Saturday as mentioned above, and then returned on Tuesday to do the required work. He arrived on time with all the necessary parts to fix the shower problem. On Saturday, he had concluded that the shower could be accessed via my kitchen pantry drywall to avoid tearing out the tile in the bathroom, and was able to do all the necessary repairs with much less mess and cost. He installed the new shower head that I had purchased as well. In addition, he was able to replace the exterior faucet with a new hose bib that was also freezer-resistant to protect the line from freezing or back-up. He checked out all the plumbing in the house as well as my hot water heater and my sump pump, and determined that everything was in pretty good shape for a 60 year-old house! He was also able to give us a bid on some other work we might want done in the future. As mentioned, I had previously purchased an Angie's List Deal from Rivers Plumbing but had not yet called for the inspection. The unexpected shower problem gave me the opportunity to call them out, and so I was able to use my "Deal" in addition to resolving my shower issue and the leaking exterior faucet. I was also appreciative of Jeff's suggestion to just cap the shower head on Saturday so that I could avoid paying higher weekend charges.I would be glad to call Jeff and Rivers Plumbing again for my plumbing needs.

I appreciate the fact this company offers emergency services as many of the others do not have this feature. I was given an approximate time and the plumber arrived within 10 minutes of this estimate. When the plumber arrived on Saturday, the first thing he did was assess the situation, then quoted me a flat rate plus a 75.00 service charge. As he was writing up the ticket, I told him I had a coupon, which he said I could not use outside of normal business hours. NO WHERE on their coupon does it say this and it left me with a "bait and switch" impression. Before he left, he told me the company would waive the $75.00 service call fee AND I could use my coupon on Monday. Although they were both responsive and timely on Saturday, I had a different experience the following Monday when they returned to finish. I was told I would hear from the office manager between 8:00 and 8:30 on Monday morning and did not. In fact, I called their office around 10:30 after waiting all morning to hear from somone. Considering I had been without water in the kitchen for about 48 hours, this was disappointing. The drain specialist arrived shortly thereafter and determined he would need to come into the drain system from the roof and proceeded to do so. He was not able to retrieve the end piece of the snake but told me he was sure it was no longer in the pipes as he felt his auger hit something and push it through to the main pipe. I was not given a new price or even an estimate for the drain specialist's work. When I asked him how much it would cost, he said the home office would have to tell me. Since I was asked to sign a work order for the work on Saturday, I was surprised to not be given any advance notice as to how much this additional work would cost; again, leaving me with a "bait and switch" impression. After the work was completed, I found out my bill was going to be an additional $200 and I WOULD NOT be able to use the coupon. The company's response when I questioned the bill was, "It cost a lot more because we had to come in through the roof and we waived the service fee, which is a better deal than the coupon." There are 2 things wrong with this statement. One, their would have been no need for the Monday work if the plumber had known how to manage the job all the way through, and two, I would have saved a great deal of money if they had honored the 10% coupon, in addition to waiving the service fee. While I would use this company again, it would probably be limited to emergency work as the "bait and switch" impression I was left with would not make them my first choice for a major job.

My overall experience was excellent. The quality of their work was very good. They were on time. Their professionalism was great. The price was okay. It was average. The work was about $130. They were good. I would recommend them to other people and would use them again in the future.

I think that was good as I prefer him not to just do something because he had to do something but he thought he would find the problem and I thought that was good. He did not charge anything for coming out and I appreciated that. I had contacted someone previously and they said they were going to come out and they never did. They responded to my call and they came out when they said they were going to come out. They appeared to be knowledgeable and conscientious about the customer. I would definitely use them if I have future issue. I have also recommended them to contractor friend of mine. I was impressed with them because of all these things.

Unfortunately, we weren’t able to get a hold of anyone after receiving the estimate. So, no work was ever performed. Basically, their follow up was very poor.

They did great job! They arrived on time, and the final price matched their estimate.
