They were very nice and professional and seem to value quality service, were proud to have an engineer working in the company and were the only ones to measure windows and doors to estimate boiler needs. Their estimate was just too expensive compared to the other four - 1250 compared to 700-900.

I don't remember the actual date the inspection took place and the guy who came out was nice, but was critical of everything, especially how the sump pump in the basement was placed (although it's been like this since the early 1960's with no problems). He never did flush the water heater and when I asked him if he was going to do it, he said it didn't need it......what???? How do you know if you don't even look at the water heater? The only positive thing out of this inspection was the guy suggested I replace the hose from the washing machine to the faucet, which I have done. Bottom line...this was a total waste of my money and I would never use this company.

Overall, I was pleased with the service. The technician (Roy) was very professional and was very helpful in explaining the problems and how we could possibly avoid them in the future. He did have to leave multiple times to get parts, but that wasn't his fault as they didn't have all the parts in stock nearby.

They performed an inspection on my plumbing. They ended up saving me money overall. They repaired the problem in my bathtub rather than fully replacing fixtures.. They were very time efficient.

I purchased a deal from Angie's List that involved a whole home plumbing inspection as well as a $59 credit. Almost immediately after purchasing, Rivers' Plumbing made several attempts to contact me and schedule service. When I was ready I called them and scheduled the service. They called me while in-route and arrived on time. As for as responsiveness/promptness a definite A. The plumber, Ross, went through my whole home and looked through everything and did back-flow testing on the toilets. He stated that everything looked good except for the water pressure in the home, which was too high. He suggested installing a regulator and turning down the pressure and then quoted me the price. He also quoted the price to re-attach my tub downspout. I felt that both prices seemed very high, but I needed the downspout fixed as I had company showing up the following day. I paid to have the downspout fixed, and as far as I can tell it works fine. I help off on the pressure regulator as I wanted to research costs a little further. Up until this point, I was satisfied with the service and the time that it took. Once the plumber left, the toilet on the main floor wouldn't stop running. This toilet was not constantly running prior to his arrival. I called Rivers back and requested he come back out to fix the toilet. They returned my call about 15 minutes later stating that the reason the toilet was running is that my water pressure was too high and that it would cost me an additional $400 to fix. Also, they wouldn't be able to send anyone back out until later in the week or the following week. I pointed out that the toilet was working fine until the guy they sent was working on it. Still, they wanted to have me fix the water pressure. I told them not to send anyone and to forget about it. I called my cousin who is a plumber in Kansas City and explained the issue. He had me go pick up a fill valve and a flapper. We quickly determined that the reason the toilet kept running is that there was an old rubber band that was lodged under the flapper and preventing it from fully closing. This allowed water to slowly leak from the tank and the fill never was never fully reached. I went ahead and installed the fill valve just to rule this out as being an issue, and after installing a Fluid Master with my cousin walking me through it on the phone the toilet flushes much better than before. It also no longer runs. It bothers me that someone like myself with no plumbing experience and improper tools, was able to fix the issue in about an hour for a cost of about $12. Had the plumber bothered to come back out to look at the issue, I'm sure he could have quickly diagnosed the issue and had me fixed. Instead, they were too fixated on charging me the $400 to fix the water pressure which had nothing to do with the reason my toilet was running. Its because of this lack of service that I will not be using this company again.

Use machine to "snake out" the drain in my kitchen sink but not succeeded

Call them after seeing they received excellent reviews on Angie's List. Was able to schedule for the same day. They offer a free estimate on the work I needed Immediately and some other work I would like to have done in the future. Very prompt and professional. Had the emergency work done right away, will have to wait on the other work. Very happy with company, they had me scheduled for a 3 pm to 6 pm window. I received a call from the office @ 2:30 telling me the plumber's name and that he would arrive in 30 to 45 minutes. He arrived promptly at 3 pm. He was very professional and courteous and got the work done. Gave me estimates on the other work I need but unfortunately cannot afford. Overall I feel I made a good choice and would call them again.

Overall it was a lousy experience! However, The Owner of the Company did finally contact me, was kind, apologized, and refunded my credit card $500. He seemed sincere and disturbed about the service I'd received. He also responded to this Angie's List review (see below) and was candid, kind and honest. This was a welcomed turn of events. Original Report: Their plumber had overcharged me approximately $398 for a standard new garbage disposal and left me with leaks and poor customer care. Angie Members: Buyer BEWARE! This one completely missed the mark! The plumber who did the install was ready to leave my job, when I said I wanted to look and make sure there were no leaks. I went under the sink with my flashlight and found three separate leaks in the various pipes this plumber had takenapart to remove the old disposal and put in a new disposal. This plumber did repair her work that was leaking when I pointed it out to her. Then about 10-minutes after the plumber left, I went to use the kitchen sink and noticed another leak that she had left. The area leaking was in great shape/no leaks prior to her work. She had disconnected a series of pipe in her work to do a standard disposal replacement and yet left me with a variety of leaks. Most which I found prior to her leaving, but I had missed one. She had missed them all when left to do the job by herself. I contacted the Company the next day. It took 2 days for them to have her return. She walked in, took barely a peak at the leakage and said that was not her issue and not caused by her. Yet, It clearly was areas she had taken apart and moved during the disposal removal/install as I had checked in on her during the work to watch things. This plumber seemed dishonest and was rude. She went out to her truck and brought me back a new bid of $250, on top of the $648 for a basic garbage disposal install, just to fix the damage she had done with her original work. I did not proceed. I again contacted the company next day. They sent a different and nice plumber 2 days later who fixed their previous plumbers work in about 30-minutes, there was no charge added, it was under Warranty as it should have been. After this, I called 2 other Angie List Plumbing Companies (Award Winners)to price the job I had done. For the exact same disposal install the price/ total job quoted was $218- $250. River's Plumbing charged me $648. Go figure.. Also beware of service pitch, SERVICE PARTNER Agreement. The original plumber said she was including this free, yet it appears they will automatically charge your credit card after the FREE period ends ($9.66/monthly). In small print it says, charges will continue monthly unless you send them a TERMINATION notice in writing. Overall, a bad experience for me .

Plumber was professional. He arrived on time. He replaced At a later date, a different plumber assessed the situation as the leak got worse and it ended up being a complete faucet replacement for the bathtub. The diverter was bad I believe.

It went very well! I was very pleased. He was on time, and very thorough with the services. He impressed me with the fact that he wore protective shoe coverings. He was really patient with me when explaining everything. He also noticed that I had a gas fireplace (which was not one of the reasons he was there), and he gave me safety instructions on how to deal with some of these concerns. This was really an extra step that I loved!

Excellent experience with Rivers plumbing. The contractor was extremely knowledgeable. I did the whole house inspection and he pointed out a few basic home owner plumbing tips. I would definitely use Rivers plumbing again.

I wasn't sure who to call to unclog our sink as there are a lot of scams going on right now. I signed up for a special on Angie's List with Rivers Plumbing Co. Mick showed up right on time, unclogged the sink, cleaned up after himself and made sure our coupon was subtracted for our bill. We are very impressed and will not only use their service again but will tell others.

OK. The dispatcher setup an appointment quickly and the plumber arrived on time. He was friendly and knowledgeable and he was able to resolve the issue. I was offered a service discount relative to their standard pricing, however even the discounted price was well in excess of what I had expected based on my experience with other plumbers.

The valve that shuts off water flow into my home was stuck in the on position. I contacted Rivers Plumbing late on a Monday morning, and a representative was at my home shortly after 5pm the same day. I was very impressed by this responsiveness. He didn't have the exact replacement valve with him, nor did he think they stocked it in the shop. However, he was able to come up with an alternative solution that he implemented while here on the first and only visit. The technician was very professional. He performed good work and did a good job of cleaning up after himself. I thought the original price quote was a little high, but with a $50 off coupon through Angie's List, the price was quite reasonable.

Purchased a "Big Deal" for 29.95 plumbing inspection. I was having problems with low pressure with one of the outside hose bibs. It turns out that the bib needed to be replaced. I was able to use the big deal towards parts and labor for the total job. Very prompt and job was completed as expected.

Technician explained work to be done and completed job in very satisfactory manner - at both properties.

Ross the plumber was on time and reasonably priced. He did a whole house inspection and gave us a thorough report on everything that needed to be fixed. He was rather quiet when he first came and wasn't too friendly, but later on he became friendlier as he started working.
