Overall, it went very well. Ross seemed very knowledgeable. He was here on time. He was very professional. I had not anticipated spending the amount of money that I did, but Ross worked with me on pricing. I will not hesitate to call Rivers Plumbing in the future.

Overall, I was pleased with the three plumbers who were excellent. One, I was unhappy with his service for the special deal.

The shower repair was done, however, there was a problem with the repair. When contacted, Rivers Plumbing responded quickly and the repair was completed with no problem. There were 2 different individuals who responded--one the first time and another the 2nd time. Both were professional and careful.

The first experience with them went well. When we called them out the second time for a clog in the sink, they came out on a Saturday. They weren't able to fix the problem that day but said they would come out on Monday. That Monday they didn't show and we had to contact them to find out what was going on. They said they will be out on Tuesday and they were able to fix the clog.

Nice man who put on Booties before entering my home. Did his job unpluging the toilet because it was really plugged up and quickly straightened and tightened the bolts and asked if I had anything else, which is a nice touch. He was in and out quickly and made no mess. Very happy

Their service was excellent. They arrived on time, they had good equipment, and the man knew what he was doing.

It was fine. I thought the service was really good. The girl that came was knowledgeable and knew what she was doing. She gave me a couple of different options and we discussed what to do. I was really happy with the service. I intend to use them again for any of plumbing needs.

I was very satisfied with the work, all was explained and I understood what was to be done. I had a master shower single supply that had become almost impossible to turn on or off, is now works wonderful. The tub spout was stuck on, only worked for showers and leaked. Was replaced and works without whistling sound. I had to whole house plumbing inspection from Angie's List and he found some important thinks to be fixed, but it was up to me. We discussed the options and was shown the problems and decided to fix the shut off valves and some and some supply lines in 2 areas. That probably saved me another service call and a big mess on my hands! On the outside, I had to freeze proof hose bibs one was rebuild and one was just tightened. He gave me the option on rebuild or replace and the costs. Over all I was glad to just get it over with. I feel good knowing the jobs are done and I feel I was treated with respect and honesty! As for price, I think it was good, but how would I really know, I'm not a plumber. I do know I have paid a lot more for less work.

I had purchased a Big Deal for a service call and credit towards services to be performed since I had three plumbing-related items that needed to be resolved. While the representative came out was very courteous and professional, the quotes given for each of the three items were grossly higher than market, so ultimately the Big Deal was not handy.

The inspection lasted a total of 15 minutes and it was communicated that there was no other solution with the exception of rebuilding and replacing leaving $1,000 in work total.

Friendly enough but no budging on prices for material and labor, take it or leave it, and me with a broken toilet needing to be replaced, acted like prices were the same for every plumbing company, found out that was not true. Times are tough but don't know who could pay these outrageous prices except for those people named Rockefeller.

Had several plumbing issues corrected and a new shut off valve was replaced in the half bath. Several months later the shut off valve connection was leaking which lead to some water damage on the 1/2 bath floor on the main floor. Had put in a service call to have someone come and the repair person told me that he was able to definitely tighten up the fitting. He then said he would have to charge me for the service call. I told him that he had just told me that he was able to tighten up the connection causing the leak to stop. I also had him look at the toilet handle in the upstairs bath and he told me it could not be repaired because it was old. Several days later my nephew looked at it and easily made the repair.

From the beginning to the end the plumber was courteous and did his job well.

Plumber was throughout but made a mistake on shower value control. Company dispatches another repair man the next day.

I had NO work performed by Rivers Plumbing. I only paid for the Big Deal Estimate. I can not comment on the quality of their work. I am commenting on their estimates. The leak under the kitchen sink was the priority job that I called Rivers Plumbing to do. By the time the plumber had finished with the whole house inspection, he had found what he said to be 5 total items that needed work and one optional item that I asked for a quote for. The estimate was $1630.00 dollars for all of them, but he would give me a 25% discount for doing all of the repairs at once resulting in a bill of $1,223.00 I was very stunned at the quotes, particularly that the estimate was $297.00 alone for the under the sink leak. I declined service and called five people who have experience in home repairs... all have them have done plumbing work. In hind site, I should have done this first, but they have their own projects to work on, and I was trying to save their time and was able to afford The Big Deal. All of them believed that the quotes were exorbitant. Still needing my sink leak repaired, I called one of those friends, my licensed building inspector friend. He replaced the problem leaky part with a $20.00 part that we bought at Lowes. He also installed shut-off valves for the kitchen sink faucets with $25.00 parts from Lowes. Rivers Plumbing's quote for the kitchen shut off valves was $300. It took my friend 45 minutes to do BOTH the shut-off valves and the leak repairs/installation. To recap: $597 dollars - Rivers Plumbing estimate for parts and labor. $ 45.00 - actual, zero for labor because my friend didn't charge me for the labor. Another line item that I was quoted $150.00 for was to replace the hall bath sink stop. Another friend came and showed and DEMONSTRATED to me how this WAS working.... that no replacement was needed. My friends' comments: You've been had! Replace aluminum flu pipe quote = $250.00. The plumber called this a violation. I have lived in this house for less than a year and it was never written up as a violation by the assigned building inspector when qualifying for this house mortgage. Even at that, my friend told me that if I chose to get this replaced, it wouldn't be anywhere near $250.00 Installation and cost of check valve on sump pump = $320.00. These parts cost between 20 - 100 dollars at Lowe's. I asked for a quote to provide a basement laundry room sink pop-up (install a drain release pull up - not a lever under the sink) = $313.00 I know I I could easily buy a new sink and vanity for less than this amount.... the Thanksgiving Day sales I could even get a sink and vanity for $99.00! I believe all people including tradespeople deserve a decent wage, but even at that actual cost of parts, the hourly rate for that plumber would have had to be severely inflated. Rivers Plumbing called me and asked me if I wanted to book service before I had the work completed by my friend. I told them that I was not going with their company because after doing some research I found their prices to be inflated and that I was told I was being taken advantage of. The caller told me they would never do that to their customers and that she would let the owner know. Haven't heard from them since to defend their quotes or to offer a reduction in price. I have no idea about the quality of the work that Rivers Plumbing does and I'd like to be clear that I am not reviewing their work, just reviewing their estimate procedures that were done at my home. When in doubt, get another estimate. No financial "damage" has been done and I have learned my lesson -- research the reviews and don't just look at their overall grade even if it is stellar. I have used Angie's List before and have been thrilled with the results with Home Comfort Exteriors especially. I will continue to use Angie's List in spite of this experience with this Plumbing Company.

I mistakenly thought I was getting a plumbing service call for $29.00. Instead I was getting $59 worth of service, for $29, so the bottom line was I paid someone $135.00 to fix a toilet for me. My mistake, never to happen again. The technician was prompt, did what he could, but did say he didn't have the correct item for the type of toilet. He replaced the stopper with what he thought would work, from the supply in his truck. The toilet still seeps a bit from time to time, but I can fix that now that I know what is going on. He offered to do a whole house inspection for me, but everything else is working fine, so I declined.

I would definitely use them again. It was a very pleasant experience. They did a good job, and they charged a reasonable price.

We needed to have the plumbing connection under the sink reworked to prevent dirty water from the dishwasher from pushing up into the garbage disposal when the when the dishwasher was running. The guy from Rivers Plumbing was very knowledgable and professional, and he did a great job on the repair. I plan to call on them in the future.

Michael worked hard and finished the jobs within a reasonable time. He knew his job and did a great job.

Very nice person, but the price was too high. I purchased the online coupon from Angie's and was very disappointed.

The plumber was nice and great. The company is way overpriced, and has bought up lots of smaller competition. There was a list with prices - ridiculously expensive! The service call part of the deal didn't include service! That was charged separately. Luckily the plumber's inspection was great, and I ended up fixing some things myself, as the big deal didn't even cover unclogging a toilet!

See above. Went poorly. Since when is looking at pipes considered a service call? I coulda done that!
