We were recnditioning a house after a period of use as a rental. We discovered when attempting to use one of the exterior spigots that it had burst in the previous winter. Afer calling a number of plumbers we settled on Rivers Plumbing as they were the only plumber contacted that was able to provide same day service on this Saturday--timing was important to us on this job. The plumber arrived on site within an hour of being contacted and immediatly went to work investigating the problem. Once identified they providedus a quote of $450 to replace the frost-free spigot. This seemed high to us, especially since the same job had been performed on the same spigot two years earlier for $200. However, snce we were in a time pinch we opted to pay the higher than expected fee and get the job done. The plumber worked quickly and efficiently and within 45min of arriving we had a new spigot. We have only positive things to say about the service provided but caution Angie's List users considering Rivers Plumming to obtain additional estimates and/or be prepared to pay a premium fee for service provided.

I have used this company several times before and I must say they always have performed professionally. They show up on time and are courteous and explain every thing they do while working. All aspects of the job are completed well including clean up. They're a little pricey, but I guess you get what you pay for.

Charged my immigrant parents $400 to replace a garbage disposal. The cost of the disposal is $125 and $275 for the service call. That is down right ridiculous.

Excellent service--no complaints.

Spent over an hour on Sunday trying to fix the problem. His equipment only had 100 feet of cord, which didn't really fix the problem. He was so empathetic of our problem and since he didn't resolve it, he didn't even charge us. Class act 100%!

I have hired them before for this service and I feel that their pricing has increased by maybe double! I believe it was $200 the first time and it was $300+ this time. He said he ran into more roots though. The young man who came out was neat, prompt, and professional. I haven't had any problems with the system backing up. I plan to shop around though.

They just basically checked everything out but they didn't really do anything. They're really good and very thorough on the inspection but there is one thing that I did found, they could have just spent 5 minutes doing it but they didn't do it and they just gonna charge me a lot of money just for one simple thing. I didn't use them again.

I purchased this check-up package. The plumber came and was not sure what was expected from him so he checked all the facets and toilets. I wanted to know how we could keep the water boiler in good condition. He said we needed to flush it so he did. After he left some of the faucets were clogged up with sediment because of the water boiler flush and we had to take the faucets apart to clean it all out. We also had to repair some of the toilets because he had checked all the rubber rings and of course they started leaking after he touched them. Concluding I wish he had not checked the toilets and had checked the faucets after flushing the water boiler.

It went well. They were good with reponses and were very quick.

Rivers did not take responsibility for part failing in 1-1/2 years, and wanted to charge $477 to replace. Plumber thought maybe I could get labor charge waived to credit against that. Too expensive. Looked for referrals to do work through my contacts and found a couple very qualified plumbers to do work for $240 to $250 range. I picked Trio who installed 3/19/14 complete for $240. I will be using Trio in the future.

My experience went very well. The staff was very professional, clean and neat. They did not try to over charge me and were very honest. They were great with the follow up afterwards and I would recommend this company to others.

Went well......at first. However, within a few wks., the leak began again slowly, & is now right back where it was. Not sure we'll call the same company back since they've been unable to stop a simple leak.

The actual installation went very well but the performance of the units did not control the humidity in the house properly. It took several calls but they finally replaced the A-coil with a larger one and it worked much better.

Rivers Plumbing Company wanted to charge me $300.00 per hour to get two outside faucets changed out. The work he quoted me on was easy to do and the parts were cheap. The job was done okay, but it was just exorbitant.

Called the company and talked to Rosey to set up an appointment. She was very friendly and set up a time convenient for me. Master plumber Christian came out and gave an estimate of work to be done. He arrived as scheduled and was friendly and very professonal. A time was setup for the job to be done and the plumber arrived on time. Andy did a excellent job. I will definitely use this company in the future and will refer them to others. All work done in a professional manner from the first phone call to the cleanup.

We used a plumber a couple years ago and I’m now on a contract with them (Rivers Plumbing Company LLC). They perform the plumbing inspection and provide a maintenance contract – I have them since then. I have them twice since 2012. The most recent time that they were out doing work for us probably almost a year ago in the spring, 10 months ago maybe I don’t have it in front of me but I have them come out and put in a new outdoor faucet. It was before the holy season and I want to get that done because it was leaking and I want a new one and that was really good and they put one in for me. I don’t remember how much it cost for their service at that time. I say the plumber pricing is a little high for me but that’s basically the plumber charge so pick your spots where you really need a plumber and have the plumber do it and I made the decision to go ahead and have a plumber do that. There are some jobs that I wouldn’t necessary have them do aren’t high level plumber but you need a high level plumber and make sure it works well. I think they are very good. They seemed to have good professional guys. They know what they are doing and I have also had them replace some kind of valve. When the water comes in from the street it goes to some kind of device it’s almost like a little tree and kinda reduces the water down so your inside will handle it the pressure. The pressure kind of pressure has really helped and they came out and did that went to the wall and they did a really great job for that. They actually thought me what was about and how it work. They are professional, very good, not cheap but very good. I think I have maintenance contract with them. I think they renewed that. Actually, the pricing is not as much if you have a maintenance contract.

The guy that came out over charged for the job. It was to the point that I should have gotten my money back. About a month later I got a second quote from my normal plumber and that provider just shook his head as the work was not done right at all. I paid $90.00 for the work from that provider and I was told the sewer line was not collapsed. It was determined that Rivers Plumbing Company used the wrong equipment.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It worked out reasonably well. The price was a little bit protective because when they came in, they said they didn't know if it would take 20 minutes or 2 or 4 hours so they charged a certain amount upfront. I was a little apprehensive on that because my house was built in 2004 so that was something that was a little bit unusual and I wouldn't expect something major to happen. I had a problem with their pricing strategy. I spent about $500.

I purchased this deal because I had several minor plumbing jobs to complete--replace a kitchen faucet, replace a toilet, and stop a "running" toilet in another bathroom. The company called promptly and I described my projects. However, the quotes they provided were extraordinarily high. This was last year (just getting around to this review), but the one price quote I remember was the kitchen faucet swap--twice what any other reputable plumbing company was charging. When I mentioned it to the person, his reply was a nonchalant "that is what we charge." Well, I didn't need to waste his time or mine, so I replied, "I can beat that price anywhere." I have seen many projects through in this house. When you own a home built in 1897, you get to dabble in numerous projects. You just start to get a feel for what something should cost. Besides, I had the kitchen gut remodeled 6 years earlier...that faucet would have been a straightforward swap. As it turns out, I found a separate plumber through a friend's reference...and he completed the job for under 50% what Rivers would have charged. I walked away feeling as if this deal was just bait to get me to pay more than necessary for a service.

Hoffman has made a total of three trips for this issue. On the first trip (11/9), the repairman appeared in record time and determined that a burner would not ignite due to a 'blocked orifice'. After he cleaned all orifices, burners and the flame sensor, he tested the ignition five times and everything seemed okay. However, after about five days, the system tripped a second time. Another repairman was promptly sent out to investigate the issue at this time (11/16). This repairman's assessment was different from the first in that he thought it was a two-fold pressure issue. He reduced the gas pressure and opened more registers in the basement in addition to cleaning the flame sensor again. After about another three and a half weeks, the system tripped yet a third time. The original repairman was sent out again (12/14) to conduct an extensive study to investigate the polarity, flame sensor, secondary heat exchanger, temperature high limit switch etc. He also determined that this furnace was indeed on its own dedicated circuit. Since everything checked out 'okay', he said the only suggestion he could lean towards was to install a new circuit board at a cost of $708. However, he stated that he could not guarantee this was actually the problem. Though all three of these trips were covered in good faith under the original charge, I was informed that they would start charging their $125 +/- per hour cost in future visits. At the end of the day, I was told how to reset the system if it trips again but did not have a tangible fix I could hang my hat on. I could either potentially pay hundreds of dollars in more diagnostics fees to possibly not know anymore than from the first three or I could spend $708 on a fix that might work and then maybe pay more diagnostic fees if it didn't. The repairman's response to my question of warranty/guarantee was that of the 1 year parts warranty but did not offer any substance on the labor portion. I do not feel as though the problem was completely fixed nor do I feel the contractor took complete ownership of the solution. The repairmen were super prompt and they stuck with me for three visits, but what real value did I walk away with?

They came, adjusted the thermostat, went downstairs. The boiler was working. I just didn't do the thermostat correctly. Said if I had any problems, to call them. They are on my "A" list.
