I had a contract to sell my condominium. two weeks before the sales date I contacted several estate sale companies to dispose of the remaining contents. Jim Downs responded quickly, asked relevant questions, and agreed to view the items even though it would not be a complete house sale. Jim and his wife met me at the scheduled time, looked at the contents to be sold, and stated it was not their normal sale process. My fiancee and I prepped the condo for showing and had packed most of the items away in marked containers. Jim asked what my expectations were (how much I wanted from the sale). When I stated I had no expectations. I just wanted the items sold without emotion getting in the way, and his knowledge and experience of pricing. Jim stated since his team did not have to perform clean up and preparation he would do it for 40% plus advertising expense. We signed the contract. The other estate sale companies stated they were not interested in executing the sale because it was too small. The weekend before the sale, Jim called, moved in his set up equipment, and secured a key so they were able to perform set up at their leisure. TRhe sale was held the proceeds were close to expected in spite of the year and weather conditions. Near the end of the 2nd day, Jim called and we came over and viewed the results. Jim stated he had another company willing to take the unsold items at no cost to me, but with no payment to me. this is a result of the correct pricing of items. By Monday evening the condo was cleaned of all remaining items and ready for closing. Again, I am very pleased with the results and would hire Golden Harvest again.
Description of Work: I hired Jim Downs to perform an estate/moving sale on my condominium. The contract was signed two weeks before the actual sale so they acted very quickly and decisively. Their percentage was more than the usual fee. Advertising was an additional expense. Jim and his group came in and performed the set up, unpacked everything, priced the items a week before the sale. They did a very professional job. They arranged for all remaining items to be moved from the condo at no additional cost. I was very pleased and satisfied with the procedure and results.
