 + -1 moreAs with the previous work that Gillick has done for us, we were extremely satisfied with the superb quality of the work, speed of execution and overall professionalism. In particular, once the brick mantel had been removed from our fireplace, it was discovered that the space behind was in very poor condition, with loose bricks and the chimney was in fact not supported at all. Gillick installed a new steel beam and corrected the structural issues.
Description of Work: Gillick opened a space in our back wall for a set of french doors, which included installing a stone threshold. They also bricked up some basement windows and an unused window on the 2nd floor. They also removed a brick mantel from our fireplace and then restored the bricks lining the fireplace behind.

 + -1 moreThe new brick and stone work looks as though it's always been there and is such a vast improvement over the shoddy work the builder (Rowles) did to begin with. (There was an arch of stone and brick over the 2-door portion of our garages that was not arched at the proper angle. Because of that, the bricks were loose and in danger of falling down!) We would recommend Gillick and would use them again, if we needed any masonry work.
Description of Work: Gillick gave us a competitive bid for brick repair on the exterior of our home, above a 2-door garage. They removed brick and a stone archway. (Although the house is 7 years old, the original builder had built it improperly.The brick was separating and very loose & sagging). After removing the brick and stone, they "rebuilt" that portion of wall, eliminated the "arch" and installed a straight line of stone across the garage, with brick above it to match our adjacent single car garage. The crew arrived as promised, completed the work & were very friendly while here. They cleaned up nicely when they had completed the job. The new brick work above our garage looks wonderful.
