I purchased a SAMSUNG SMART TV 60" IN 12/12. APPROX. 8/14, noticed dark spot in middle of TV at bottom - a semi-circle. First available opportunity, called Geek Squad as I had taken the best warranty coverage out BEST BUY offered at that time. It was not cheap, by any means; however, I had a 2 year payment plan and this cost was included. As a matter of fact, my last payment will be 12/14 (1 month prior to end of agreement). I was not concerned because I knew the GEEK SQUAD had excellent techs and had experienced computer assistance in the past. I, as well, knew from friends that this type of issue could arise and thus make sure you take out the best warranty available. The cost would have been $12xx.00 approximately, as I believe I noted in paperwork; I paid nothing for this repair. The most important thing I want to stress is the PRIMARY Tech named Sanjay (Sonny). I have his card but will keep it to first names. He was super. He understood IMMEDIATELY what had occurred; got on his computer/phone and set up the repair of this unit. The actual repair/replacement was done on 9/5/14. I would either have a new TV or a new screen replacement; it was indicated either one would be as good as the other, so to speak, using my words. The gentleman with Sonny originally was super, too. The lady that was with him during the actual repair was super, great, personable and knowledgeable, as well. Sonny is very, very professional; very calm, i.e. patient when I was going through my story. There was so much he did; checked; re-checked and answered a foolish question of mine as he was preparing to leave; helped me with the remote and never acted agitated. They were very considerate about my house, belongings, etc. Very respectful. I add, too, that he consistently called, verified times, verified when he was close and maintained contact at all times. It was really something I value, is "talked" about by other vendors but seldom done. He was beyond the call of duty. Really, he made me feel even better about my purchase decision, unit, etc. And, it was a pleasure to have something I did not understand at all so perfectly handled with ease. It was an extravagant purchase by me; one I hoped not to regret, and so far, excellent; don't regret this purchase.

I love them. I left them with my last computer. One of the workers called me on his own to make sure my computer was working alright. He gave me an estimate on a repair and told me the work wasn't work being done. I think that's great. They were even busy that day. The one that I get serviced isn't from Best Buy originally. They aren't high pressure at all. I never had buyers remorse with them. They explain things so well. He never talked over me or made me feel stupid.
Description of Work: I take my computers to Best Buy's Geek Squad for repairs.

We were having difficulty loading software on to our computer so we took our it to The Geek Squad for assistance. We also requested that a second hard drive be installed and the media program be fixed so my husband could download music. When we picked our computer up and took it home, the software was not working correctly, neither was the media program and I could no longer send or receive emails. We returned back to store twice after that to have the problems corrected and after multiple visits the computer still does not work correctly, in fact it has more problems than it had originally before the service was done. The problems were never resolved and I was not at all pleased with the service, we have since made an appointment with another vendor to take care of the problems. I do not recommend.
Description of Work: The Geek Squad was hired to upload software on to our computer and set up McAfee program for use, they were also asked to install a second hard drive and fix media program for downloading music.

When we decide to buy a TV, we will go back to Best Buy. Although the prices are a little high, they would still match the prices of competitors. Even though we decided to wait on the purchase, they were still very nice and patient and gave us the information that we inquired about.
Description of Work: We were looking to buy a new TV because of the merge coming in February '09. The sales team here were just so nice and informative. They were objective on the different brands being which ones are good and bad. They were very honest in giving advise.

See above. I was told that I would have to bring in the printer to Best Buy, and that for $39.95 the problem would be fixed. My original in-home Geek Squad contract apparently does not cover printer hardware problems, but I was not aware of this at the time of purchase. I feel that my money bought nothing. I am not a fan of the Geek Squad. I have had much better luck with contacting HP.com through 1-800-HPINVENT and working with them on two different afternoons.
Description of Work: I purchased a brand new computer with monitor and printer, and had the store set up everything in store. I brought it home, set it up, and thought everything was fine. I ended up calling the store the next day with a problem and was told my Geek Squad purchase did not cover set up difficulties. I paid for in-home services for the computer and assumed(!) that the entire purchase was covered - NOT! I have since called Geek Squad with a recurring problem. The printer itself will make copies just fine, but will not print from the computer, so that tells me nothing is wrong with the printer, but the computer/printer link is not properly working. I paid money to have this set up in the store before I brought this home, and also paid for in-home service, and feel that the store should be responsible since it has not worked for more than a week or so at a time. The in-home Geek Squad service did not include in-home set up - that was an extra $159.00, so I opted to have it done in store.

The person that worked on my computer and assisted me in the purchase of parts for the upgrade needed was very knowledgeable and explained everything very clearly.
