Frederic Roofing was amazing to work with from the first meeting until the thank you note they sent to me for my business. I had a leak over my dining room so I got bids from three companies to look at my roof. All three recommended a new roof. Frederic was not the lowest but they were definitely the very best to go with and were only a couple hundred dollars more than the lowest bid I got. When Dan Sprick came to do the bid he was on time, very thorough professional and talked to me as an intelligent adult. He went into my attic and also up on the roof. He actually did a quick patch the roof to tide me over until the roof could be put on, and he cleaned some leaves out of my gutter that were blocking one downspout. I remind you, this is when he came to do the bid. He had no idea if I was going to hire his company or not. When I signed and sent the bid back to them, they called and also left me a note telling me when they would approximately be able to come do the roof. It was approximately 4 weeks before they put the roof on which is what they told me from the beginning. The crew was polite, respectful and worked quickly and efficiently. They were here when they said they would be and completed all work by 5 p.m. the same day. They spent a huge amount of time cleaning up and kept things clean during all their work. There was a supervisor on site the whole time and at the end of the day, it looked like nothing had happened to my property except for the nice new roof. A week later they made an appointment to have someone come inspect the work and discuss the contract to make sure I was happy. That is when I paid the bill. Then a few days later I received the thank you note from them. I can't say enough about how easy it was to do business with Frederic Roofing and what a great job they did. It's good to know there are still companies out there who actually care about doing a good job for their customers. I would recommend Frederic Roofing to everyone who needs a good reliable company to put a roof on their home.

Frederic never showed up for an estimate on roofing issue/repairs. I was promised a call/visit within 15 days of my call to set things up. So much for all the great advertising I heard for them on the radio.

Came out and gave very reasonable estimate then fixed problem areas around flashing and tuck pointing around both chimneys... HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Around 11 or 12 days from when I first called, I received a extremely small card in the mail saying due to the amount of work they currently have they are unable to take any new customers/work. Would have been nice if they took the 30 seconds to actually call the day they mailed out the card or sooner . It would have given me at least 3 more days to schedule someone else and not wait, It is even understandable considering the amount of storms and such in the area. But i am extremely unhappy with they way they went about it. I do not think it is unreasonable to schedule an appointment and expect someone to show up. I can't speak for the quality of work, since none was performed.

I have used this contractor on a previous house. They did a great job which is why I called them again in 2011 for my new house. I have no hesitation in recommending them.

Worked with us well to coordinate a good weather date (given it was Winter). Worked well with us to coordinate getting some of the fascia pre-painted so we wouldnt have to go up 20' on a ladder and paint it after gutter install. The owner is a great guy and has integrity. His workers were good but didn't understand much english. He saved some slate off to the side for us to use for a separate project. His price was a bit high. I haven't been up on the roof to say whether the installation was perfect or not.

They give excellent service. All the people are really nice. They did a beautiful job on the flashing around the chimney - looks better than it ever has.

Went fine. They used a solution and soft brushes and removed the stain. It's back now but may need a new roof soon?

Requested quote for emergency repair on roof... never showed, never gave quote, never responded.

We have not had heavy wind driven rain since the work was done so I am not sure if the leak is sealed. The rep was courteous and seemed competent and professional. There was a shorter waiting period and no increased cost for more prompt service.. I do not believe this review benefits other would be users. We are neither angry nor ecstatic about the company. Previous service was good. They appear to be very busy and may not be able to get to your problem as fast as you want them to.. If you have an emergency it will cost you extra to get service sooner

Excellent job. Not only did they resolve a long term leaking issue, they contacted the skylight company and got them to replace the product when other contractors could not. Love these guys! Highly recommend them. Over the past 10 years I have used them on several jobs and they have always done a fantastic job for me.

I called Frederic Co. on 4-16-13, 4-25-13 and 9-26-13 each time requesting an inspection and estimate for a leak from our dormer and a leak from a roof vent. I called them because they had installed a new roof 9-12-02. I was not expecting anything free because the warranty had expired. After each call they did not return my call. On 9-26-13 the woman answering the phone told me they had not previously returned my call because they had come to my house when I was not home, inspected the roof and mistakenly thought the roof had been repaired. It had not been repaired. The woman promised that someone would return my call. No one called me back. I chose another roofing company and had the roof repaired the next day.

They took a long time to come out and were really slow. I thought they were very unresponsive. Their price was fairly competitive with everyone else, but they were very slow.

I received four quotes to replace the roof on my rental property. Frederic provided the fastest response and the most professional bid of all that I received. Frederic was about in the middle in terms of the amount quoted, but did the best job consulting and explaining the differences between the shingles available, ridge vent, etc. This combined with the fact that they are a reputable company that has been in business for a long time, I decided to have them do the job. Overall a very positive experience and good quality. The roof looks great and I have had no issues since it was installed two years ago.

I remember they were prompt and did the work. It was a very reasonable price. I would only use them again if it was for a repair.

I used Frederic around Oct of 2009 at my old house. Based on my experience there I did not hesitate to call them again. Again, they were in touch with me to let me know when they were planning on starting and kept me informed throughout the project. I have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone and certainly would not hesitate to call them if the need arises again. Allison at the shop was pleasant to work with. Any questions I asked of her she got right back with me with an answer and kept my informed. Thanks Frederic for another great job.

Frederic Roofing Co. Inc. are amazing and I would recommend them to anybody. They were very responsive on quotes, they explained what they were going to do, they were very timely in getting us schedules. They were fantastic.

It wasn't at all a good experience. Many of the shingles popped up and didn't lay down right, and Frederic Roofing wouldn't return my calls when I tried to tell them about the issue.

The overall experience was very good. Our request for an estimate received a quick response.Gene Frederic looked at our roof and explained his proposal for replacing the roof. He emailed and mailed a proposal. The one we received through the mail included information about the material that would be used on the roof and a sample of the membrane material. We had some questions about the job, which were asked and answered primarily by email. We found that communications were easier by email. Phone calls were answered by very nice people at the office, and were returned, but sometimes a bit of phone tag was required before both parties connected.We were notified by phone a few days before the work was to be done. The roofers showed up bright and early as scheduled, had the job completed and were pulling out of the driveway as I returned from work that evening. We also had new downspouts installed, but that work was not completed until a week or two later.A week or so after the work was completed, we received a call asking to schedule a time that Gene could come inspect the work prior to presenting us with the invoice. Gene arrived right as scheduled. He inspected the roof and downspouts and showed us pictures he took while up on the roof. (You can't see a flat roof from the ground, like you can a peaked and shingled roof!) He gave us the invoice for the completed work, a Waiver of Lien for labor and materials and a warranty for materials and workmanship. The entire process was handled in a professional and skilled manner, within a reasonable time frame and at a reasonable price.

They did a good job on the estimate. I didn't hire them because I wanted them to do more than they were going to do, and they didn't offer to do it. I didn't see the guy, he came out and mailed me the estimate. I think they were fair. They didn't try to talk me into any extra stuff. The quoted price was good.

However, there were some real negatives:-They made a MESS on the first day when tearing out the original slate shingles and underlying tar paper. There was literally tar paper blown all over our neighborhood, and lots of trash they just dropped right into the neighbor's yard (I think they were aiming for the dumpster but missed. We complained and tried to make arrangements multiple times for them to clean up, particularly the neighbor's yard, but this did not happen. We also had to request them to come back after the work was done to remove tar paper stuck in the mullions of outside windows. (These particular windows don't open, so we were unable to remove ourselves without a ladder). The workers did not speak English, so I and other residents tried to communicate with them about these problems but we were unsuccessful. Calls to their supervisor did not result in immediate corrective action. It was extremely frustrating. Due to the mess they made and apparent lack of concern about it, we were very worried about quality of workmanship and had it inspected. The work turned out to be good, but there was more anxiety than we needed. In the meanwhile, we have found out that our gutters are badly in need of repair, and that there is some rotten wood at the point where the gutter meets the roof. We have reviewed the contract and found that it was not in Frederick Roofing's contract to replace the wood at this part of roof, but it would have been really helpful if they had informed us of that problem. Then we could have had all of our roofing issues, including gutters, taken care of at one time, probably for a bit less money total. I would not recommend them.

I used Frederic to replace the flat roof of the addition to my bungalow in 2004 -- they were great at that time-- very responsive and professional. They did a very good job. The cost for replacing the addition roof was a bit less than $1500. Seven years later, I was hit by a storm that damaged my roof by a tree. Insurance said that it should be replaced. I called up Frederic first, given the great job they had done previously. They said they would get an estimate and mail it to me. I called several times over the next two months-- each time they said they would do an estimate but did not. On the 4th or 5th attempt, they finally decided to send someone out and sent me an estimate that cost over double the cost in 2004. This was substantially more than the price the insurance company offered. I brought the insurance claim quotes to them in their office and they photocopied the materials. After that point, the person that was supposed to call me never did. I would have paid them extra, because I was happy with the quality of the work they do... but they were not interested in my business (as a repeat customer). so I had to sign a contract with someone else.

Everything went well. They were very thorough, polite and professional. I would use them again.

I thought they had a really good reputation. After the work was completed there were still some areas, like areas in the middle or peaks, where the tile had popped up. I talked to the manager and he came out and said he thought they did a great job and then told me those were areas you cannot fix very well. I wish he had told me that before or else I wouldn't have spent that much. I felt like he didn't really care if I was happy with their service or not.
