We've been customers of Florida Pool and Spa since we had our first house with a pool 7 years ago. While we were always very pleased with the people and their work, there was one occassion during that time where we and quot;tested the marketand quot; just to see if the pricing was significantly different for a service we needed, and Florida Pool was basically in line with the least expensive. Due to unusual circumstances, we did have to use a competitor to do a very quick job and they just gouged us on pricing. Unless something surprises us, which rarely happens, we will not test the market again. My ultimate goal with any service provider is to reach a point where I trust their judgement, expertise and opinions implicitly. Very, very few of us get to that level with a service provider, but I am there with Florida Pool. Geoff and his team always answer my questions and get me comfortable with any required services or additional purchases. I honestly read these negative reviews and wonder if they got the business name mixed up because I've never seen any indication of the behavior mentioned. I feel like they are a small midwestern family business but with big company expertise, reach and resources.

We have swimming pool leak and I decide to call to Florida Pool services, First time they fix leak and in a couple days it leeks again. So I called them again and they charge me additional $200 to fix (like they said different leak). In a cople days water still missing and I call them again. That time they told me that water is too green and is they unable to fix a pool and in a couple days they send me an additional bill for $200. My father pay that bill but service was never done. I am not recommending that company for future service.

We had Florida Pool open, close, and maintain the pool for 4 years. We knew it was much more expensive than the competition, but they had always done a good job. A few years ago the pool was having issues keeping clean, and it took most of the summer for them to figure out that it was the filter. I think we had two weeks total that summer of a usable pool, and we must have spent at least $300-$500 on chemicals trying to keep it from clouding up. It was FINALLY fixed when we got a new filter. We weren't happy of course, but we kept with them. This year, we were thinking of finally taking the plunge and trying to maintain the pool ourselves. We had Florida Pool open the pool like usual. We were out when it was opened, and we came home to a dirty, half-opened pool, and a list of instructions, part of which I didn't know how to do. Oh, and a bill for $535. If I'm paying someone $270 for 2 hours of labor (and I'm sure that they're paying the college students they hire part-time for pool openings about $10 an hour), I expect the pool to be OPENED. I don't expect to muck around, filling the pool, unplugging the skimmers, and then trying to figure out how to turn the skimmers on. I called, and was told that if I couldn't figure it out for myself, they might be able to come by in a few days to finish what they started, but it was also made clear that this was an inconvenience for them. I tried and failed to figure it out, so the pool sat, filled to the correct level but slowly filling with tiny seeds from the surrounding trees that rained down and then eventually sank to the bottom because the water wasn't moving. They finally came days later to turn on the skimmers and called to see if I wanted them to clean the pool, for a price. No apology for doing the job halfway. Just a question about whether or not I wanted them to finish what they were supposed to do for even more money. Really? No, thank you. I was called by the manager after leaving a message asking them to please come and finish cleaning the pool, which we're still trying to get fully clean. He was also completely unapologetic and maintained that they had no interest in whether or not we were satisfied with the job they did, but he wanted to make sure we paid the bill. I told him we'd use another company from now on. He had no problem with that and magnanimously offered to drop off the pool cover they were storing. They wouldn't even charge me the storage fee. Gee, thanks. It must be nice to have so much business that you don't care if you alienate your customers.

Our farm is about an hour out of St. Louis. However, they have been great even with the distance. They have taken interest and responsibility in advising us about all aspects of pool management.

I am very pleased with Florida Pools and Spa's performance. They were easy to work with and very responsive. Jeff Gutherz is a nice man that will give you the information you need up front and stick to his guns. I will always use them for any hottub repair I have.

We just love them. I am good friends with the owner and we have referred them to other people because they are outstanding. They get here when they are supposed to and they have always fixed any problems that we have. After dealing with other pool companies that have ripped us off, I can tell you that this company is honest and does good work.

We just relocated to the area and purchased our home at the end of July. We knew that we would have to replace the pool liner eventually as the liner had a slight bubble. However, once we moved in and began to use the pool, more and more water became trapped behind the pool and the liner and the liner began to come away from the pool. We got three estimates, but we decided to go with Florida Pools. Owner Jeff Gutherz came out to give us the estimate but recommended that we not wait to replace the liner, considering its detriorating state. While Jeff''s estimate wasn't the cheapest, we had a lot of confidence in him from the outset. We decided to replace the liner immediately and asked Jeff to do the work. He showed us the various liner options and discussed the pros and cons of each and provided an address of another client so we could go take a look at the liner we liked best. We couldn't possibly be any happier or more satisfied with the job Jeff and his staff did. He will be doing all our pool work in the future, including converting the pool to salt in February or March next year. We would highly recommend his company.
