+ -1 moreJonathan redid my great-great grandfather's sofa. He took a personal interest, and made several suggestions that were better than my original ideas. His moving crew are superb, they handled this antique carefully and with care. Can't say enough about this professional. Will always send people to him, and always take my items there.

Description of Work: They went the extra mile! Stored my furniture while my home was built, picked up another piece and stored it too and did a phenomenal job reupholstering my furniture. It never looked better! Almost unrecognizable It was that great.

+ 1 moreHe was very reasonable. I had a dining room set that was bought about 1931, and he redid it magnificently, and it's gorgeous. He also did a hutch from that time period, as well as bedroom furniture, and various other pieces. He's a perfect gentlemen and a lovely man to deal with. He's refinished almost all of the furniture in my house, including reupholstering the couch, recliner, and two desk chairs.

Description of Work: Jonathan recovered eight antique dining room chairs, and the price included the material. Also, for that $2500, he refinished our high quality but beat up DR table. He was on time and did very nice work. Nothing was easy. Definitely recommend.

+ -1 moreMy only criticism would be the time it took to have the chair reupholstered, however, sometimes that is a testament to the quality and reputation of the company.
Description of Work: We had them reupholster an old chair of ours and we were very happy with the job they did. While we were their my wife decided to purchase a chair they had on display.

Description of Work: My sister and I wanted to cover my mom's chairs with new fabric. We got into the job and realized we were in over our heads. He redid our chairs for a very reasonable price. He also upholstered a bench for me.

Description of Work: I have a 60 year old handmade wooden doll cradle that was damaged by movers. Fares took the cradle apart; glued and screwed it back together. They also cleaned it with fine steel wool and waxed it so it looks great.

Lee Fares, the owner, always shares the risks of the repairs--concern that finishes might not match, or uncertainty about how well a repair job can be done. In all cases he speaks the truth and has the best interests of the customer in mind. When people say "you don't get service like you used to" they are remembering some wonderful past when things were well done for a fair price. Working with Fares Interiors is like returning to such a wonderful past--With Fares Interiors you can be sure you are getting things done well for a fair price--no nostalgia needed.
Description of Work: Fares Interiors repaired a broken leather couch. They removed the upholstery, repaired the broken wooden structure underneath, replaced padding and upholstery--the couch is as good as new. They did all this in a very short period of time and for a very reasonable price. For previous jobs I have had them do, they stripped an old oak dining table, refinished it, made new leaves that match perfectly, repaired all casters and other hardware. They picked the table up and returned it. They also repaired chipped spots on a large black lacquered dining table so well you cannot see the difference. In addition, they fixed the "pegs" that hold the leaves into the table.

He provided an estimate that was detailed and explained the waiting list. As he was nearing completion on each piece, he asked me to come and approve the appearance before the final stage. He arranged pick up and delivery. He was very punctual. Refinishing work takes time.
Description of Work: Repaired and refinished two badly damaged antique tables.

+ -1 moreI have used Fares for refinishing for many years starting with the current owner's father. Lee Fares does excellent work on antiques, and can give a good estimate on the value of the item. He does upholstery as well as restoration of wood furniture.
Description of Work: Did some refinishing work on an antique bed, fixed a table drawer and put an antique hand mirror back together.
